I've been exploring Godot's 3D capabilities over the last year and made a couple of 3D related addons (ShellFur and Waterways). I've also made a couple of free demo scenes in my "How Good Can I Make Godot Look" video series.
Come hang out and ask me about any of the work I've done.

Hopefully I'll find the time to record a breakdown of it in the next few days. I'll also be releasing the scene and all the assets on github as I did with the desert scene.
All the assets are made in Blender and textured in Material Maker.
I ended up sticking with Godot 3.3 for this scene as I use baked light and it's not yet implemented in 4.0.

Two new nodes have been added to the plugin. The first is a WaterSystem node which can be used to bake out global maps for height and flow information - this information can be used in shaders. The second new node is Buoyant, which can be added as a child of a RigidBody to make it communicate with the WayerSystem to allow RigidBodies to flow along rivers.

Zylann's wonderful terrain tool is doing a lot of the heavy in the scene.
Note: This is my first attempt at a tutorial, I realise it's a bit rough, but if people like it I might keep making them and get a bit better at it. Thanks for watching.Godot River Add-on WIP 3 - New Curve system and functional texture bakingKasper Frandsen2020-12-03 | My river tool for Godot is nearing completion, you can now easily shape a river and generate flow and foam maps. The UI still needs some love and the water material will get improved, but I'm very happy where it's at now.

Flowmaps and FoamKasper Frandsen2020-11-15 | After a ton of work I've gotten to the point where I can calculate a collision map of my generated river and turn that collision map into a distance map. I then used that distance map to generate a flow map and foam map. Still doing a few of these steps manually at the moment, but soon it should all be automated with a single bake function.

A tool for creating rivers. I've only gotten the basic functionality of creating the mesh along a bezier curve working so far. What I'm really interested in though is trying to use a signed distance field to generate flowmaps against colliders.

The demo scene now runs on AndroidKasper Frandsen2020-11-02 | I got my fur to a point where I could run my entire test scene on my Galaxy S6. It still needs more testing, but I've included a separate shader for mobile devices and included the mobile version of the demo scene. I know the video is not great. It's very difficult to use touch controls and hold a webcam at the same time.

I'm building this demo scene to test out the plugin and have a scene where people can get an idea of what the tool can do. Both the rat and the cottage are made in Blender.
github.com/Arnklit/ShellFurGodotGodot Fur Addon WIPKasper Frandsen2020-10-08 | I've been making a little addon for Godot over the last few days using the Shell method. I'm getting pretty close to having it done. It runs pretty poorly on my laptop which doesn't have a dedicated GPU, especially when making a screen recording, but it runs much better without recording and on better hardware.Godot 3.2.3 Fantasy Prototype, shaders, terrain and some modelsKasper Frandsen2020-10-03 | Trying to get to grips with Godot and made this little scene over the last week. This is rendered with 128 samples and Intel denoising. The render time was around 10 minutes per frame bringing the total render time to 67 hours. The big improvement with the raytraced render is the motion blur and improved fur rendering. This was an animation I made in approximately three weeks inspired by the trollock attack in the beginning of The Wheel of Time book series. All modeling, texturing and animation done by me, mostly using blender, but using Substance painter for texturing and HitFilm Pro for adding the audio.Character and Animation Breakdown of Trolloc AttackKasper Frandsen2020-01-30 | A little breakdown of the character and the animation. The animation reference of me acting like a trolloc with an umbrella instead of a sword is especially beautiful. See the final animation with audio here youtu.be/2Ds-9Jfxge0.Winternight (Trolloc Attack)Kasper Frandsen2020-01-29 | A little animation I made using Blender over the last three weeks. Inspired by the trolloc attack in the beginning of The Wheel of Time book series. Most of the work was done in Blender, but the texturing is a lot of Substance Painter work and a few free textures from texturehaven.com and textures.com. This is the first time I've done anything this complicated in Blender, so it was quite the learning experience, especially making a proper animation rig with facial animation and a fur set up. I rendered in Eevee, because I simply don't have time for Cycles :P. The compositing and sound was done in HitFilm Pro using a sound library I bought, it's pretty rough to be honest.Cretaceous Cravings - 1.0Kasper Frandsen2019-12-23 | An Android game I made in two weeks. The game was made using Unity's new Universal Render Pipeline and custom shaders made with Shader Graph. I was trying to go for a cartoony look that would perform well on Android. I think I was getting there, but just ran out of time before I could really add the details I wanted. But I'll keep updating it.Snow Wars - 8 Hour Game Jam GameKasper Frandsen2019-12-23 | This is the latest game jam game I made on the 7th of December. This is all made in Unity, the graphics are hand drawn, then photographed and coloured in Krita. I did this one working just for myself, so it became a bit difficult to get everything done in the short time. I used the Animation2D package to animate the 2D characters. I also managed to get a bit of enemy logic going with them patrolling based on distance or based on the platform they were on. I'm just sad that I ran out of time before I could make a nice background and a better level.FlowRPG - December UpdateKasper Frandsen2019-12-06 | Finally got a version of my main character in the game. Still early with lots of dodgy animations, but at least it's beginning to look like a proper game.FlowRPG November UpdateKasper Frandsen2019-11-21 | Finally got around to doing another video. So the big visual differences are obviously the enemy now having proper graphics and that there is a action point counter and cost to skills, but under the hood I rewrote most of the enemy code to be much more extendable. Currently I'm working on the player graphics, but they are not quite ready to be implemented yet.device eevee turntableKasper Frandsen2019-11-17 | ...FlowRPG OctoberKasper Frandsen2019-10-25 | The game I'm currently working on. After being stuck for a few weeks, I'm getting back into the project and it's progressing nicely with a pretty well functioning combat and skill system. Next up is more enemy types, item system and some proper player and enemy graphics.FlowRPG prototype2Kasper Frandsen2019-08-20 | ...Silly bird creature in the back yardKasper Frandsen2019-07-10 | After watching some videos lately of people doing motion tracking and adding effects, I thought I'd give it a go. I recorded a short video in my overgrown back yard and placed a silly bird creature I quickly put together. I'm pretty happy with how well it turned out with pretty little effort. Obviously some of the plants should have been masked out to be in front of the bird. Motion tracking, rendering and compositing all done in Blender 2.80 beta.Beat Saber - Country Rounds - Expert - Oculus QuestKasper Frandsen2019-07-02 | Having some fun with my Quest headset. Managed to do a full combo on one of my favourite levels on expert.Game Jam March 2019 Lego AdventureKasper Frandsen2019-03-23 | The game I made in the latest game jam I attended. I liked the way I made the terrain, but other than that, most of the day just went with modelling a Lego man and making him move reasonably well and then making the game run decently on my laptop. All those blocks changing colour is a bit intense.
This video almost took longer to make than the actual game. This is my first attempt at making a quality video and I had several mishaps with useless software and bad video encoding. Hopefully if I ever managed to do another one of these it will turn out better.
