I will make future videos on the YUKA 1500 mower to let you know how I'm getting on with it and after I install the RTK station in a better location (as explained in this video).
This mower easily cuts my strange shaped lawn and apart from a minor positioning issue at the very far side of the lawn (due to the low siting of the RTK unit) I'm over the moon with the performance. When I install the RTK unit up on the apex of my house roof the accuracy of the mower will be even better.
As my lawn has all manner of different 'edges' including dry stone walls, cobbles, bamboo hedges, planted borders and wood I was quite skeptical about how these edges would be 'read' by the mower and how well it would avoid obstacles once the areas were mapped out.
However, it has far exceeded my high expectations and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who has a decent sized garden (and is sick of spending hours per week cutting the grass).
As I set the mower to cut at different angles each time it mows the grass gets a very even cut and is looking better with each day.

Huge deer seen near my house - Is it a Red?

Thousand Yard Stare 2024-09-11 | I spotted this deer a couple of nights ago at an undisclosed location and it is way bigger than the normal Roe Deer I regularly see when I'm out.
It was sitting down in a sheep field when I first saw it then when it stood up it towered over the sheep.
As I'm on the Northumberland / Durham border it's well South of areas where Red Deer are normally associated with so if you've any ideas please share in the comment section - thanks in advance.

This backpack fridge / freezer is perfect for my family holidays, trips to the beach and for transporting frozen meals down to my son at university (I make lots of extra meals from my vegetable garden).
It is comfortable to carry as a backpack and is a perfect car fridge since it can be powered from the cigarette lighter socket (it uses very little power).
Everything I have reviewed from Litheli is great quality so I have no problem recommending everything I've reviewed - links to previous reviews are above.
Yes, I know that I pronounce 'Litheli' different in this video compared to my previous videos - that is because I had a .wav file sent to me from Litheli which had a guy pronouncing the name properly - hopefully I got somewhere close, lol.
Seriously though, Litheli aren't messing around with their products - they are proper quality at an affordable price.
When I took the FrozenPack on a recent trip to Scotland I used it as a freezer on the way up there and as a fridge on the way back - both scenarios worked perfectly.
Everything which was frozen remained frozen on the way up (and could be put into our cottage freezer) and everything which was refrigerated remained refrigerated (on the way back) with the cans of drink being icy cold without being frozen.
Next year I have a week long holiday booked with my brother and some friends to the Isle of Skye and I am already safe in the knowledge that I will be the hero for providing cold beers for the fishing trips. God bless Litheli.....

This little espresso machine is great to take on day trips, bike rides and fishing expeditions. Added to that it is pure quality.
It has permanent residence in my cycling backpack so I can take a break when I'm way up in the hills, have a quick brew and start pedaling again with renewed enthusiasm.

Apologies to OutIn for taking so long with the review but with something so compact and technical I had to charge / discharge / store / check for loss of stored battery power ...... and make PLENTY of brews since my viewers would never forgive me if I didn't continue to recommend products they need in their life.

Litheli are producing products of a superior nature and the batteries are readily available (and versatile). The batteries have 2 x USB outlets to allow them to charge up two devices at the same time (e.g. phone and headphones) and the batteries are charged by a simple USB type-C cable.
I have no hesitation recommending this cordless hedge trimmer and as I mentioned in the video my old petrol trimmer is getting sold (or scrapped).

Catching a few fish (including a Lord Trout) on my local river with my 7' (2.1m) back-up fly rod.
At the time of this video upload the rod is cheaper on Amazon (has 30% off).
The telescopic fishing rod is not an easy rod to use since the stiffness of it is quite unforgiving and it is harder to 'feel' through the rod what the fly line is doing.
Consequently there are a few negative reviews on Amazon. However, if you accept that it has a fast action (as described) and use it accordingly with a faster than normal casting motion it will handle fine and catch fish (as demonstrated in this video).

Tomatoes in the Greenhouse - Late June 2024

Thousand Yard Stare 2024-06-28 | A quick update on my tomato production - they've started getting ripe in late June but I grew most of the plants from seed in late January.
Growing tomatoes and peppers is definitely a long term project but it is worth it since all my plants are heaving with produce.
However, I do have a double glazed greenhouse which allows me to grow early and harvest until late in the season.
This is just the start of the harvest and the tomatoes which will be harvested from now until early December will be used in salads, pasta sauces and hot sauces (with the chilies and onions).

Yes, I know that I called the manufacturer INISWHEEL and not ISINWHEEL - blame dyslexia (which I don't have but for the purpose of this video I identify as dyslexic...)
In this video hopefully you will appreciate that I have genuinely used this bike. At the time of filming I'd gone just over 70 miles on it and the later video (linked above) is a 200+ mile review.
I never have and never will accept payment for reviews and if something doesn't measure up to my expectations I will not publish a video, I just contact the company who sent it and ask to return it.
You will see from the state of the bike in the 200+ mile review (linked above) that this bike has been given quite an unfair thrashing, just as I do with any other bike I own - yet it has held up extremely well.
Therefore I have no problem recommending it to anyone wanting a very affordable commuter bike which will perform extremely well for many years under normal conditions. I accept that I'm probably in the 1% of people who rides like a man possessed every time I get on a bike, hence all the broken bones and scars on my body.....
I genuinely love this bike and it is a joy to ride.
I've seen a few reviews on other channels where the 'reviewer' has had a problem with catching their feet on the front wheel when when turning corners but they are riding using the arch of their feet on the pedals with over half their foot beyond the pedals. I have not had any problems with my feet catching the front wheel, even when turning tight corners at speed as my feet are properly positioned with the ball of my foot over the centre of the pedals instead the arch of my foot being over the pedals - how anyone can ride flat footed is beyond me but if you ride properly the distance between the front wheel and pedals won't be a problem for you (unless you are wearing clown shoes).
However....
Not everything has been perfect with this bike and I've had to tighten one of the pedals and headset after the first 2-3 decent rides ..... and ..... that's about it in 200+ miles of riding. Everything else I've had to alter or repair has been down to my brutal treatment of the bike, riding style (or lack thereof) and a bad crash I had on my last ride (which I explain in the 200+ mile review video).

James Thew Wonder Goal - Loughborough Students 7 - 0 Skegness Town

Loughborough Students demolished Skegness Town with a 7 goal hammering and a great team performance - this was the final goal (in extra time) which capped a great afternoon for the team who had 7 different scorers.
Goals were scored by Edwards, Spiteri, O'Toole, Wicks, Bangura, Morales and Thew.
Everyone connected with the club has worked so hard this season and this is the reward.
Unfortunately I couldn't be there to see the game but from the clips James sent me all the goals were bangers.

Sustainable Energy Engineering - Testimonial For My Solar System

I've had my 12kW solar panels and batteries for over 3 years now and they are working hard to pay for themselves.
I have 38 panels split into 2 x 19 panel sections. 1 x 19 panels charge the batteries and the other 19 panels feed straight to the house. When the batteries are full both systems feed to the house and if we're not using all the power it gets dumped into the grid.
(for obvious reasons) I don't have a 'smart meter' so I get paid nothing for supplying the grid with power but at the time of installation the feed in tariff was only 5p per unit and lately it was closer to 3.4p per unit which is an insult considering the wholesale price of electric.
I'd rather get paid nothing and have the security of a proper off-grid system in a grid down situation. If I had a 'smart meter' my batteries could be drained in the event of an 'emergency', leaving me with no power to run the house. Not having a 'smart meter' is a small price to pay for retaining sovereignty over power generation.

Although our Government claims to want everyone to go 'green' there were no grants available at the time of installing this system and over three years later no surprise there are still no grants available so if you want to invest in some power sovereignty you'll have to save up for it like I did. It is a much better investment than a stupid electric car which will be worth nothing when you come to sell it.

With regard to Sustainable Energy Engineering (link above) they are a great company so I'd definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to install a good quality solar system with panels and batteries.

In the first year the system supplied approx. 48% of our (relatively high) power usage. The second year provided approx. 55% of our power and in the last year it is just over 60% but half way through 2023 I had a third battery installed which took the storage from 11.6kW to 17.4kW so next year I'm hoping that the solar system will produce around 70%? of our power needs but that will require careful use of heavy drain appliances.
At the time of installation I was questioned many times by people who knew I was going for solar as to why I installed such a big system but even on a dull day the system will still produce a usable amount of power. Considering the cost of mains electric now I'm more than happy with the investment since it will afford my family more freedom when electric is limited, more monitored and more expensive..

I really like heated apparel since it allows me to stay warm while being stationary for long periods of time.
I've got a nation of outdoor gear for shooting / fishing which I haven't really got into reviewing for this channel (maybe one day....) since choosing good standard (non-heated) clothing is quite easy once you know what materials and manufacturers to look for. I
n opposition to that, the market for heated clothing is somewhat of a minefield with many of the offerings being poor value at best but some being good value.
The GOKOSY heated jacket is effective as an artificial down (unheated) coat but when the heating elements are turned on it elevates it to something worthy of serious consideration - this could literally be a life saver, especially over the Winter period in the UK and US since all it takes for a long cold wait in a traffic jam is some penarse who doesn't know how to drive in the snow to cause a multiple car pile-up on a motorway / freeway.
Alternately the heated coat and gloves are great for every day use and especially effective for people who need to stand or sit still for a long time (e.g. watching outdoor sports, Nature photography) or for people on a diet which has no meat or dairy who don't have any natural resilience to the cold due to their un-natural chemical laced mess of a 'diet'.
Sadly most people aren't prepared for any sort of cold weather so having some sort of quality outdoor clothing or heated apparel can easily make the difference between being freezing cold or being comfortable.
I regularly used to feel guilty being the only person in the crowd watching football and being warm and happy but now I feel no guilt. This gear is available at a good price to everyone so comfort is a choice, not a privilege.

This is a fantastic folding wagon and having the added benefit of being battery assisted means that it is a seriously good choice for carp / coarse fishermen who have a nation of gear to transport from car to waters edge or for campers, camper van owners, people carting loads of gear down to the beach or anyone wanting to easily shift 60+kg of gear from one place to another.

Having the ability to charge and remove battery packs is great if you've got Litheli gardening tools so I wish them all the best with the launch and for the future.
During the testing for this video I loaded the E-wagon up with approx. 100kg of logs plus a 90kg fat man and it managed to travel under nothing more than battery power no problem - that's over 3x more than the recommended carry weight. This is a good product.

The full capacity of the power station plus the removable batteries is 912wh + 74wh + 74wh (1060wh total).
I'm really looking forward to seeing this power station become available world wide as it brings something extra to the saturated market. Having the ability to charge and remove battery packs is great if you've got Litheli gardening tools so I wish them all the best with the launch and for the future.

This is a VERY affordable option for anyone wanting to store power for a grid-down situation.
It's great to see good power stations available for half the cost of the leading brands.
Apologies to Sanfou for taking a while to make this video but I'm very rigid with my testing and reviewing. I need to charge, discharge, charge, store, discharge and repeat to properly test everything I receive before giving an honest opinion on it, with very few exceptions.
If you're looking for an affordable power station then this one is worthy of consideration and it pairs very well with the solar panels I have (Allpowers and Jackery) - most solar panels will have cables which are Anderson and standard DC. The Sanfou takes a standard DC18V input so it's no problem to charge with any of the solar panels I have (or from the mains using the supplied mains charger).

Having knowledge of natural environments, shooting, trapping, fishing and foraging are literally life-saving skills since without them we die when the current system of on-demand food and easy shopping goes away.....and it will go away at some point - do you want to be the guy fighting a hungry 300lb man-monster or a bloated blue-haired screamer for the last packet of Super Noodles in a ransacked supermarket or do you want to be prepared?
Do you want your pronouns to be Was / Were? ........ nope.
It's a simple choice.
Knowledge is power but we're 'educated' to exist in the system without being taught what the system is and how to navigate the (obvious) pitfalls.
Knowledge costs nothing and can be carried in the mind, given away for free and used to combat ignorance - it's a great deal but takes time and effort to learn useful skills.
Foraging is most definitely one of those useful skills.

3 Tips For How To Get More Eggs From Chickens (and Bigger Eggs).

Thousand Yard Stare 2023-09-07 | Three simple ways to get more eggs, bigger eggs and the chance of a double-yolker from chickens / hens.
1 - Make sure the hens have a regularly clean coop and drinking water available 24/7.
2 - Ensure there is plenty of outside space for the hens to roam around - ideally free range.
3 - Soak the food overnight to ensure it is soft. It will be easier to digest and allow the hens to get more efficient nutrition from it. I mix grains with layers pellets 50/50 and soak in non-chlorinated water overnight. I fill water to about 1" over the mix and it is all absorbed by the next morning. I feed half the mixture on a morning and half later in the afternoon.
The hens also regularly get leafy greens from my vegetable gardens.

Like many people in the UK and US from early Summer 2023 I was finding that my hens had slowed down their egg production significantly even though they are young and very healthy.
Since there is a war on food / food production and food distribution going on as part of the many agendas currently playing out leading up to 2030 I did some research and found that the grains I was buying were possibly coated with something to make them less digestible (to slow down the egg production) and therefore soaking them overnight could make them more digestible and get the hens laying again.

From 10 hens I was getting only 1-2 eggs per day and a day (in early Summer) and after starting to feed with soaked grains the egg production jumped to 4 a day later, then 5 the next day followed by 6 the next day and since then I've had an average of 5-7 eggs per day. Yesterday there was 8 eggs (as seen in the video) and some of my hens aren't renowned as being prolific layers. Last week I had 2 double-yolkers and they supposedly occur roughly 1 in 1000 eggs.

So, the experiment definitely worked just as it has done for others but it did not answer the question of why they stopped laying in the first place. Like so many people in the UK and US I'm wondering how far the war on food will go and as the famous UN / WEF war criminal Henry Kissinger said:
“Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world.”
That maybe part of the answer.....but at least we're not on fire...

This hunt was shared with my good friend Aiden and we both filled our baskets with lovely Porcini mushrooms from an area akin to a Fairy Grove usually only seen in remote Northern or Eastern European forests.
It's been an incredible year for fungi so far and over the last few days 3 short hunts have yielded well over 20kg of this valuable fungus and I've now got all of them dried and stored in mason jars......ready for the 'Dark Winter'.

Fairy Pools on the Isle of Skye 3

Thousand Yard Stare 2023-04-15 | #shorts Skye is an amazing place to visit. It is located high up off the West coast of Scotland and I could happily live there. The seas are rich, the weather swings from perfect to extreme and the light is magical.
Added to that it's one of the best places in the UK to see the Northern Lights - it's a very special island.
The Fairy Pools are located in the Northern part of Skye and are accessed by a footpath which winds up a mile or so into the glen.
It's probably too much of a hike for mega-fat beasts but for people who haven't lost their feet through diabetes it will take around an hour or so to traverse the footpath up to where the best pools are.
A large car park has recently been built near the start of the footpath and any proceeds from parking charges go back into the local community for beneficial projects - they are listed on the sign near the parking payment meter.
When local projects are possible from parking charges I don't mind paying them. It was either £5 or £6 to park there ..... I can't remember but as long as the charge wasn't going to the centralized government I was good with it.
We were very lucky with the weather and in early April we had 2 perfect sunny days. The days we traveled to and from Skye it was dull and colder so we timed it well.

Added to that it's one of the best places in the UK to see the Northern Lights - it's a very special island.
The Old Man of Storr is a huge natural standing stone and is located a few miles North of Portree and is accessible by walking a mile or so up a steep path into a picturesque mountain range with rugged mountains acting as a backdrop. This location was used in the 2017 Ridley Scott film 'Alien Covenant' where the protagonists entered a cave to find an ancient painting depicting historic contact with alien visitors. That was a studio set but the scenery prior to entering the cave was real and is incredible. The shifting light, changeable weather and special views makes it a very worthwhile hike.
It's probably too much of a climb for mega-fat beasts but for people who haven't lost their feet through diabetes it will take a good 1.5 hours or so to traverse the steep footpath up to where the best views are. We saw many rotund hikers turning around half way up the mountain and I feel their pain since I'm 50 and not exactly in peak physical condition but myself and my wife loved the climb - we took our time and headed around the back of the Storr and up to the elevated viewing point since the views from there are even better.
The Old Man of Storr is 50 metres (164 feet) high and it dwarfs anyone standing near it.

Talisker beach located in the Northern part of Skye and is accessed by a right of way which is relatively easy to navigate, walking a mile or so down the glen past a nice farm with a great range of poultry and peacocks, on toward the beach with spectacular views on all sides.
This is a trip for people who couldn't manage the mountains as it is relatively short and flat although the access to the beach is over large rounded boulders so probably not a trip for elderly people or anyone with limited mobility.
Parking is on the side of the road leading down to the farm.
The beach is made up of a mixture of white and black sand which makes amazing unique patterns when the tide comes in and goes out. The sea is a vibrant blue color and the waterfall which plummets over the cliff to the right side of the beach drops around 90m. This video probably doesn't capture the scale of the waterfall or rock stack to the left of the beach - you've really got to be there to appreciate it.

A Guide to Low Power USB Indoor Growing Lights - For Hydroponics etc.

Thousand Yard Stare 2023-03-25 | I think the quoted '80w' by some manufacturers is the output equivalent of the LED lights compared to incandescent bulbs - they can't be drawing 60w or 80w from a normal USB cable. Power consumption will be extremely low and likely be between 2.5w and 5w.
Basically 'daylight' spectrum for leafy veg and anything with a red spectrum for fruiting plants. Very simplified but true. Nothing will take the place of sunlight as that has everything every plant needs but if you're growing indoors these lights will allow you to take something from seedling to fully grown plant no problem. All the lights featured here have built in timers and depending on the manufacturer they can be 3/9/12 hours or 4/8/12 hours - that's handy since they will come on the same time every day. I generally set mine for 12 hours on from 7am.

This situation was no good for a jigsaw due to the limited space between boards and wall so I used my grinder with a 4.5" wood blade to cut off the bottom of the boards I used to clad my rendered wall with.

This package of solar panel, battery and pump seems to be a really great option for off-grid solar powered hydroponics systems.
It's certainly way better and more reliable than the small panel and pump I was previously using as it will run from first light to an hour or so after sunset, even on dull or rainy days.

Currently I only use this treatment sparingly and once a year (usually around late March / early April) due to the chemical component repelling worms from the soil (copper?).
I only use it on the flat lawn shown in the video and not on my other lawns.
It works very well but over-use can result in the worms disappearing from the soil. They will come back after a few months.

Who Knew They Could Swim?
