My 14-Week Half Marathon Plan | Brief Overview

Running With Jon 2022-01-15 | Well I’m back on another run streak and am also looking to tackle some distances and earn some PR’s.

Here I briefly go over my 14-week sub-1:40 HM training plan which kind of breaks down into 3 sections:

1. Introducing some shorter or less intense workouts while continuing to build weekly mileage.

2. A focus on speed development while also going much longer on long run days, including some steady/HM efforts on those LR’s.

3. Longer goal pace-specific efforts in the final block, which get me used to feeling ok with sustaining HM pace for longer. I’ll also throw a 10k time trial in there to mentally prepare for racing, as well as a couple 32k (20 mile) long runs to keep the aerobic system in peak shape before a 2-week taper.

Run Streak Day 100: After 24 Hours of No Heat or Electricity

Back in 2018, I ran everyday for the year. I averaged over 7km (4.5 miles) per day, including 2 marathons and all the training involved in that process. Well I kicked off another running streak on October 1st, as I've realized I really need that structure to get be out of a running funk, as well as get some mental clarity and focus.

My Home Office Tour + Running Gear Setup and Storage Area

My 2022 Running Goals | HM, Ultra, & Run Streak?

Running With Jon 2021-12-24 | Ok here we go: 2022 training plans and goals. First up I’m going to tackle the half marathon again, aiming to beat my PR by a little over 2 minutes. Then I get into uncharted territory… and looking ahead into 2023, some real adventure.

Back in 2018, I ran everyday for the year. I averaged over 7km (4.5 miles) per day, including 2 marathons and all the training involved in that process. Well I kicked off another running streak on October 1st, as I've realized I really need that structure to get be out of a running funk, as well as get some mental clarity and focus.

Run Streak Day 80: Treadmill Workout (Snow Day) & Chat

Running With Jon 2021-12-19 | Today is day 80 of the run streak and another treadmill run due to weather. A decent workout though. I'll chat a bit about the past couple weeks, the holiday season, and what the plans for the new year are. Thanks for stopping by!

60 Day Run Streak: “You Can’t Succeed If You Don’t Start”

Running With Jon 2021-11-29 | Today's run marks 60 days in a row. At this point, I've definitely seen some positive mental benefits to accomplishing something on a daily basis, and it's helped me bring structure and routine into other aspects of my life.
