Also, as you probably can tell by the cleaner look, she created the ending of this video.
In Minecraft the world seed is a number that determines how the generated world will look. Leaving aside technical difficulties, you can say that the same seed will generate the same world. In this videos we explore the ways you can enter a seed. In short, there are three methods that vary vastly in the amount of seeds you can access with them: - Entering a text (4.294.967.296 seeds) - Entering nothing or zero, so a random seed will get picked (281.474.976.710.656 seeds) - Entering the seed as a number (18.446.744.073.709.551.615 seeds)
The seed 0 is a bit odd, as it is the only seed that you can not get by entering it as a number. However, there are various texts that you can enter to get it: pollinating sandboxes¹ drumwood boulderhead¹ YYHCCTL² rounibuf² youtube.com/Panda4994?gpfoly=² Use this to get Seed 0 TURN=JC² Zero, zero, zero, random: pyhaqhv² This makes this seed 0: zlorrq² A few letters are enough!CTYBYVB²
You could also just generate a lot of worlds with random seeds and hope that you get 0, but don't fancy your chances :-P
In case you are one of the few who read till here and you are not merely a silent observer (nothing wrong with that, greetings to you! :-)), let me know if there is anything in this video or the world generation you would like to know more about, and I will see if I can build it into future episodes of this series.

I know it has been a while since I uploaded a video and this one has a rather simple topic. But I thought it's better if I release at least a small video again than if there is nothing, especially as there won't be much more videos in the near future either. Sorry about that. But hey, on the bright side I do plan to continue doing videos every so often.
I should mention that my focus shifted a bit recently. I think that I will generally be more likely to create videos in the direction of "Bugs and Ideas", so videos about the game rather than videos that are inside the game.
Have a nice quarter :-)

A new type of automatical Minecraft survival farm. Enderman pick up the melons and drop them on death. This makes it the first fully automatic melon block farm.

I made this video a few months ago, but was unhappy with it and didn't fully finish the visuals. The reason I still release it now, is that I think that it's important to be noted that these things are not as easy as one can make them look in a video. (It also just bugged me that I didn't have this out yet and kept me from working on other videos.) When presenting the "fix for redstone" I was quite excited about it myself and missed to talk about the issues. The fix still has some good ideas in it (e.g. a breadth first order for updates) but adding that in a nice way would require some far reaching changes. To be fair the fix I made was doomed from the start as one of my main goals was to not break any old behaviour. I managed to do so for the most part, but with that premise it was already set up to be a hack onto the original code rather than a proper fix. In a proper fix some old quirks will break, some update orders will change and many many old contraptions won't work any more because of that. So hereby I admit defeat. I'm not able to fix redstone without also breaking some stuff. But maybe I will take a try to fix it with breaking some stuff at some point :-)

The rules: Find a vanilla survival friendly way to remove all TNT without blowing up any of it. I forgot to mention it in the video but you can use any Minecraft version from 1.0 to the latest release, as long as you get the world to load. So let's get these down as bullet points: - Vanilla (no mods, no external tool) - Survival friendly (It needs to be possible in a normal survival world, so no cheats/commands) - No part of the bomb is allowed to explode (It doesn't matter if the explosion can do damage or not, an controlled explosion is still an explosion) - Recommended version is 1.9.4, but other release versions are allowed if the bomb can get loaded in them (TNT and torches need to be in place after opening the world)

This is hopefully our last video on sand generators for a while :-) It has been a long development, but I think finally we are at a version that is practical and fast at the same time. You don't require any special seed or anything like that. No long conveyors and no chunk loading. Just a rather easy to build up setup around your end portal.

In this video we show you a as fast as you want sand generator. Its speed will only be limited by real life physics and your computer. The longer you run it the faster it gets and eventually it will reach infinite speed! :D It also works for anvils, dragon eggs, gravel and red sand :-)
This design was not developed from nothing. There was a continuous improving and building on previous designs going on till we reached this ULTIMATIVE NEVER TO BE IMPROVED FINAL LAST DESIGN! So here is what it is build on :-)

Minecraft 1.9: http://www.minecraft.netMinecraft 1.9: Sand Generator - 40 sand/second (144,000 sand/hour)Panda49942016-03-18 | Today we show a fast sand generator, producing 2 sand per tick.
And another video about something we still had lying around :-) We developed this generator together with the one I showed in Panda's Survival but didn't get around to make a video about it yet (first because 1.9 wasn't released, then because we just forgot). I should maybe mention that it's possible to make an even faster sand generator, if you manage to send several sand through the portal in one tick. That should be possible if you give them different speeds. But honestly there isn't really any point in that. Even this generator only has a theoretic speed of 144.000 sand per hour. In reality you probably won't find any processor that actually reaches 20 ticks per second while this thing is running (Of course hardware improves too, so this statement might become wrong some time in the future). The seed for this generator was found as a side effect of some seed finding I have been doing. I still plan to do a series about that at some point so stay tuned :-)

The important Tags are PL_S** and PL_T** (e.g. PL_SPX). PL_ is just my prefix for the "project". The S stands for "Spawn", the P for "positive" (N for "negative") and the X for the x-axis. The T stands for "Teleport". Actually this just gets confusing. Ask me in the comments if you are interested and struggle to understand it :-) Here are the commands: http://pastebin.com/4rF4DHDM

This is an update video for an old design I did when 1.7 was released. With the 1.9 release XisumaVoid gave some attention to fishfarms which caused me and Spire to experiment with it again. This is the result :-) Here is the old version which is still working for Minecraft 1.5 to 1.9 (possibly also future versions): youtube.com/watch?v=aezeY1TCj0M This old version might work better on laggy servers. Also the piston version is probably better if you got problems with too much lagg.

We will try to somehow find a stronghold and get to the end in a desert only world without any trees. That means (at least till we found the stronghold): - No crafting - No armor (besides rare drops which are really rare) - No weapons (besides rare drops which are really rare) - No food (besides rotten flesh and rare lucky finds) - No tools, everything has to be hand build - No automatic storage room (I will miss this one the most ;_;)
As there are also no caves we will have almost no chance to find the stronghold without an eye of ender. You see it will be fun :D

I usually try to keep opinions out of my videos for the most part. Not in this one.
I saw people say that Mojang is doing a poor job at explaining their choices. Guess what, if you are a programmer who tries - on the fly, while the game is played actively! - to clean up the mess of old code that Minecraft sadly is, the last thing you want to spend your time on is explaining a bunch of people without any programming experience, who partially even tell you to kill yourself, why you chose to redo the part of code you redid and why that stops pink fluffy unicorns from riding on rainbows. I rather think that many people do a poor job at trying to understand why changes need to be made. (In the case of the item elevator it can be found here: bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-73302)
And while we are at it: Another thing I often heard recently is that Mojang is a billion dollar company and should act accordingly. You know how billion dollar companies act? They have a bunch of PR guys that don't reply to your tweets. They make decisions based on profit optimizations rather than community feedback. You want Mojang to be that?
But let's get back to the item elevator. Did you know? It is not 100% stable! Items sometimes just randomly fly out. Did you know there was a time before test137E29 showed his awesome design? You know what we used to do back then? Build other designs. Some of them still work and will most likely still work in 1.9.
One more thing: Pretty much the same can be said about shifting floors. (Yes also the soul sand ones!) Of course it is a bug. And when you build on a flying machine or play missile wars and fall through piston you want it to be fixed, but in a mob farm it should still be broken? You can't have it both ways. And as well as for test137E29's item elevator, there is alternative designs. And if there is none then invent them. It's not like there is no other designs possible. We just got way too used to really simple on bug based ones.
Puh. That was necessary. In general people are a lot more likely to listen and reply to you if you are nice to them.
Ok, seriously. This is a really bad video. The elevator really works in 15w38b, but it will probably break in the next snapshot. But my bad videos usually do the best, so let's see :-P I hope it still is somewhat interesting :-)

The trap was designed by Spire and me before the match and we were lucky enough to find (I think) 4 desert temples. So we had more than enough TNT :D Apperantly the server we played on was on difficulty normal, so that is the reason why the TNT did so little damage. On hard both of them would have been really close to death or even be killed by the explosion. However the surprise effect did it's thing :-)

In the first part of the stream we prepare for the update to 1.8 by writing down the coordinates of all portals and preparing the wither in the end. Getting to all the portals makes a nice little tour of this world :-)
Minecraft 1.8.6: http://www.minecraft.netMinecraft in Slowmotion (Tickspeed Mod)Panda49942015-06-03 | In this video I show a mod which allows you to set the tickspeed in Minecraft. So you can decide how fast time runs! :-) The Mod is made for Minecraft 1.8.
With a smite V sword, strength II and critical hits you need around 3 to 4 seconds to kill a wither. In Minecraft 1.9 or later versions it might be a little slower due to the attack cooldown.
Instead of the locations listed here you can search one on your own or just use the portal through which you can leave the end.
A few locations with a 3x3 bedrock field: X:0, Z:-31 (Used in the video.) X:-56, Z:-67 X:-96, Z:80 X:11, Z:124 X:-154, Z:102 X:-154, Z:-130 A few more good locations can be found in this text file: http://www.mediafire.com/download/p599d39y66h5591/Nether3x3Bedrock.txt (These are just the really good ones not all.)

The concept still works in 1.9, but the way to build it is outdated. NOTE: The repeater at 30:50 should be on 2 ticks delay to make it stable. How to get out of the end? Enchant your things in the end, put them in the enderchest, jump into the void, respawn in the overworld and get the stuff out of the enderchest. Done :-)
Heyho, sorry that this video was delayed so much. I intended to upload it about two months ago but other things got in the way: slime blocks, ZipKrowd, Respawnnetwork and more excuses... Hope you like it! :-)
I just got a question on what the rates of this farm are. So if anyone else is wondering about that:
The dragon takes 200 ticks (10 seconds) to die.
In the last 50 ticks (2.5 seconds) he will drop 1000 XP every 5 ticks (1/4 second). We can't get the last XP dropping because then the dragon would die.
So we should get 9 times 1000 XP out of every dragon death.
Now the minecart got also some travel time. It's about 20 seconds (You can messure the right value from the video). So it would be 9000 xp / 20 sec = 450 xp/sec.
In comparison to that: An enderman farm has a maximum speed of the enderman farm is something like 16.66 xp/sec :-) Also you could make the dragon farm faster if you use something faster than a minecart to move the player ;-) The theoretic maximum would be 9000 xp / 10 sec = 900 xp/sec.
