Miranda Lawson (Yvonne Strahovski) as Samus Aran MalyMarr 2010-09-10 | Metroid: Other M was Nintendo's first effort to build a real cinematic story around one of its core game franchises, and the inexperience shows. The exposition and monologues are heavy handed, the dialogue is clumsy and awkward, the characterization is amateurish, the delivery is stilted and the direction could use work.Meanwhile Mass Effect 2 stands as a landmark in video game writing and voice work. Miranda Lawson is a complex, layered and nuanced character, and I've chosen to use the audio for her ME2 trailer as the audio for a fake Metroid trailer to provide a tiny glimpse of what Metroid could have been like if Nintendo had employed the best writers and voice talent in the gaming industry.This is the sort of confident, strong, determined and independent woman that Samus should have been.Oh and minor spoilers.
