Full Octane Garage 2022-12-31 | The Full Octane Garage has bought several trucks over the years. at the end of 2021, we purchased a GMC Denali 1500 Limited 6.2 Liter Truck. Due to Covid, supply chain shortages were a thing, specifically solid state computer chips which control just about everything we own. GMC trucks were no exception and it was very difficult to find a Denali. Unfortunately, about that time, the lifters failed on my 2019 truck and I needed a new truck fast! Our local dealer Darrell Waltrip GMC located a new 2022. What we found out pretty quickly that all the functionality that I on my previous Denali was not available on the new trucks due to the chip shortage. My truck just did come at all with heads up display, surround cameras and heated rear seats or the auto stop feature. Specifically the window sticker noted that the front and rear proximity cameras were not available but eventually when the chips became available, the chip would be installed and I would get that function back ! How to Get Concrete Shuttled Up a Long Hill Full Octane Garage 2022-07-30 | This video is sharing our experience trying and succeeding on getting concrete shuttled and pouted up a very long driveway up hill (800 plus ft) with no place for the concrete truck to turn around.We had the need to pour 80 yard of smooth finish in our new barn floor along with another 60 yards of broom finish for the driveways. Concrete is about 4000 lbs per yard so that is 58,000 pounds of concrete we moved up the hill.We had multiple concrete companies out to assess the situation and all of them turned us down. Pumping was not an option as all of the pumping companies we interviewed said they had a max range of 500 ft and adding the up hill to the equation ruled out pumping. We looked at Georgia buggies (like 8 of them at 1 yard each) and the rental company felt they would overheat and disappoint us. Our next option would have been large wheel loaders but they were still 2 to 3 yards and due to our up hill ride we could not fill them up.We then tried out local CAT dealer Thompson Machine and they had two Wacker Neuson DW60 - Wheel Dumpers. They have a 4 yard dumper and they did the trick

57 GMC Paint & Progress Update Full Octane Garage 2022-07-20 | We wanted to five you an update on the 57 GMC Paint & Progress.This truck has been in my family for many years originally from California and it is my duty to bring it back to life. IT has taken much longer than I had anticipated but it is now moving to the top of the completion list. This is a complete home build by an armature car builder.I decided to bring it into the current century in the way of technology so it has an LS2, 4L60 transmission, A/C, a custom frame with a full suspension that came out of a 1988 C4 Corvette Z51 manual car. This drivetrain is important because the manual had a Dana 44 rear end and the Z51 had bigger brakes and a right ratio steering rack.

Supercars and Mountain Roads 2022 Full Octane Garage 2022-04-15 | We took a 4 day drive with friends and 4 supercars to the mountains in North Carolina. We experienced everything from snow and rain to sunny warm days over the better part of 1000 miles of travel. 2 Audi R8V10s and a McLaren 720S and 570S transported us to the Snowbird Mountain Lodge and, of course, Tapoco Lodge near Deals Gap. Tail of the Dragon, Cherohola... we drove them all.I know these videos don't get a lot of views... I do them more for our friends on our rally to watch and enjoy. Of course, if you are car people... I think you will enjoy them too!

Blacktop Rally 2021! Supercars and Curvy Roads! Full Octane Garage 2022-02-16 | For the past several years the members of BlackTop Rally have said good bye to their kids and pets, packed some small bags and jumped into their supercars for a long weekend of curvy roads. The driving and the cars are something special.. but is really about the people. This year I took a more informal approach to putting together a video. Fix your Sticky Buttons on your Sports Car for $10 ??? Yep. Full Octane Garage 2022-02-03 | If you are a car person, at sometime you have experienced the dreaded "STICKY BUTTON" . Porsche, Jaguar, Ferrari... theses are just a few of the cars that we have seen that have had this issue. The buttons and surfaces of your dash become gooey, sticky and gross, and once it starts, its not going away on its own!!!Your options to correct it range from removing the offending components and sending them off to be reconditioned to replacing your steering wheel, radio etc... Solutions like finger nail polish remover have their own risk.Well, The Full Octane Garage spent some time and researched the issue and this is the best solution that we have seen so far! (we found it on the Porsche forums)Note!!!! just like any fix involving solvents and cleaners on your collector car, test a small and discrete area first and work slowly while constantly observing the effect. All car materials can be different and using too much for too long or rubbing too much can still remove markings on those buttons soooo be careful. I had excellent results on my 1 of 45 Jaguar but your car maybe different. There was not an Amazon link for the exact product I used so I used the Best Buy link below.
