Monsieur Z 2022-10-21 | Conservatives across America are proud of their weapon ownership, and tend to consider themselves much more capable of violence than left-wingers, though simply choose not to resort to it. When considering a hypothetical second American Civil War, a willingness to resort to action is something that needs to be factored in and accounted for. While there have been major examples of right-wing violence in American over the last three decades, the majority have been lone-wolf actors, with close to no major examples of mass conservative violence in recent memory save for the January 6th Capitol Raid, meanwhile there are many examples of mass left-wing violence in the last few years alone, suggesting that in a hypothetical 2nd Civil War, average Conservatives would be highly unlikely to take up arms against either a government or insurgent opposition unless directly threatened.

While it did eventually get involved in the conflict on the side of the Triple Entente later down the line, this brought it on the side of its rival of the day, the Japanese Empire. Industrialization had failed, factionalism and decentralization led China to fracture during the Warlord Period into several rival states and cliques, meanwhile Japan saw an opportunity to take advantage of China in this weakened state.
