Suddenly, something unseen began pulling at his body from the bottom of the bed. Eventually, a red being popped up at the side of his bed and shouted ‘FA!’ in his face. The family later returned to North America, living in various locations. Later, as a young man while training in Buddhist meditation techniques his encounters with Otherworldly beings began to reignite. The pattern seems to suggest that these beings have been reaching out to him for his entire life. He is now ready to engage with them, if only they would return.This was a fascinating conversation. Rabbit Trap Director, Bryn Chainey The Modern Fairy Sightings Podcast 2025-09-10 | I spoke to Bryn Chainey, Director of 'Rabbit Trap', Bryn's first feature film. youtube.com/watch?v=Vj7UAYV6ihsThe story centres around a couple in (no later than) 1976 who have moved into the Welsh countryside on a creative retreat.Daphne (Rosy McEwen) an avant garde vocalist and her husband Darcy (Dev Patel) an experimental sound recordist, use the new found space to explore their art and their relationship. In doing so, they stumble across unusual sounds, enter the depths of nature and experience something Otherworldly...at which point a stranger enters their lives.It was great to chat with Bryn and learn what had inspired him. Turns out that, like many of us experiencers, he's been familiar with these worlds since childhood. And, (as these magical kinds of projects tend to do) against all odds, the film found it's way into the insightful hands of SpectreVision - yet another nudge that there's definitely something driving this opening of hearts and minds towards the Otherworld, into the mainstream.It's a brilliant film, sensitive to these themes with incredible cinematography - due to the fact that it's all shot on 35mm film - providing a soothing sense of spaciousness to the natural world backdrop which runs throughout the story. The soundscape is masterful and an experience all by itself.I loved it!! Go and see it if you can. 'Rabbit Trap' releases Friday 12th September in cinemas all across the US. I wanted to know more about this fascinating phenomenon and began working with landscape and magick ritual. With a background in social research, I undertook a Masters in History in 2014 with Professor Ronald Hutton, focusing on the portrayal of the Fae. Meeting a Forest Gatekeeper (with Tiyi Schippers) North Michigan The Modern Fairy Sightings Podcast 2025-07-30 | Tiyi lives in North Michigan where she is the Mayor of her town! She has Irish, Creole and Nordic ancestry and can trace her lineage back to Haiti in 1702. Her family's story is fascinating.Tiyi starts off by telling us about her Great-Grandmother who met a leprechaun in Cork, Ireland and shows us the resulting enchanted shillelagh that has been passed down her family. We hear also about Tiyi's grandfather's Hoodoo practices and the wisdom he passed down to her. Being a sensitive soul and clearly bearing the generations of practice of sensitive and honourable spiritual contact, Tiyi recalls hearing ghosts and voices as a child. On occasion she would encounter what she describes as 'The Slinky Lady' and one of her stories details flying out-of-body experience where she felt herself as part of the landscape.Tiyi works with forest spirits and shares a life-changing experience in a woodland which took place at a very difficult time in her life. During this wondrous encounter, she received a blessing from the forest. On another occasion she perceived 'The Gate Keeper' in the forest, from which she produced the painting that is shared in the episode.We hear about the 'talking tree' that her grandchildren reported, and we end with a series of mind bogging photos that could potentially indicate a Sasquatch encounter!It was a great honour to speak with Tiyi and I'm very grateful for all she shared about her life and experiences, so rich with meaning. Sandown Clown Fay Comes Forward! (with Paul A.T. Wilson) The Modern Fairy Sightings Podcast 2025-07-24 | The Case of the 'Sandown Clown' on the Isle of Wight has intrigued researchers for decades. Now, a woman claiming to be the long-sought-after witness, 'Fay' (a pseudonym) who was seven when the encounter took place has made contact with fellow Wight Islander, Paul Wilson.The woman who has provided compelling material evidence now reports subsequent encounters took place with the same being in 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1989. It is set at Clonmillan Hill. The circle of beings move in a similar way to that reported by Siôn. People tend to mark May 1st, the start of summer, with Morris dancing but they don't really have an equivalent for October 31st, the accepted beginning of the darker months. Lucy began 'Hedge Morris Dancing' last year, "morris for people don’t have, or can’t be with a team of morris siblings, but still feel the call to dance".
