“Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question: What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?” -Marcus Aurelius.
Going to keep making boom bap nujabes, j dilla, dj premier type beats. I'm having so much more fun making beats in this style. Adding all of these to a playlist called "Reflection Beats". Once I have 10 or so I'll release it on my bandcamp as Reflection Beats Vol1. Then i'll keep uploading to this playlist on Youtube, and keep releasing on bandcamp after I cumulate another vol.
“The present moment is the substance with which the future is made. Therefore, the best way to take care of the future is to take care of the present moment. What else can you do?” Thich Nhat Hanh
Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
You ever been so present in the moment that you are thinking of absolutely nothing besides the task at hand? Flow state is one of the best feelings in the world in my opinion, and it all comes from being present in the moment, not worried about the past or future. Trying to improve where I'm completely present as the norm, compared to it being a rare occurrence.

James 1:12 "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."
Trying to win daily battles against my own vices is difficult, but I'm getting better at it. I think most people can relate to the thought of temptation in some way or another. One thing i've noticed that helps me with temptation, is that I have to watch my thoughts extremely closely. If I don't check myself, I basically give in to everything that I know not to be good for me. When those thoughts do arise, I have to give myself gentle reminders of why those thoughts are appearing, and how they do not benefit myself.

“I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.” - Hermann Hesse
Realizing that I will suffer in some sort of way no matter what, and accepting that fact, has changed my outlook for the better. When those times do come, instead of feeling sorry for myself, I have the awareness to know that it will pass, and I have the understanding that i can use it as a learning tool. Even when your suffering you can still choose to do good. I'm not perfect at it by any means, but knowing it's possible to live like that is both inspiring and motivational for myself.

Wow I'm actually having fun making beats again.
Going back to just making beats strictly for fun. Couldn't care less if my plays drop on spotify or anything. It's just numbers that don't really mean much.
Been listening to Nujabes a lot lately. Crazy to think I've been listening to him for over half my life. It's so cool that one dude who lived on the complete other side of the world who I never met made such a big impact on me and what I like to create for myself.
Random stream of consciousness OVER lol

This is not a lofi and chill beat type beat tape. These are just beats that I made with the only purpose of sounding cool to myself. Maybe others will enjoy it too. If not, oh well.
This is the third installment of my Nostalgic Beats series. The first two were actually titled "Nostalgic Nintendo Beats" but dropping Nintendo made me able to make whatever I wanted and not be restricted.
I was in a big funk creatively for months prior to making this. I actually was debating quitting releasing music. Making beats in my spare time just gets weirder as I get older in the working world. But for whatever reason I find myself always coming back to it.
I basically just tried to get every track to have a happyish sad type feel, which totally makes sense, and then added something that was nostalgic to myself.
Hope you Enjoy

Beat made from krooks march in dkc2.
My man Miles sent me a soundtrack from a game called Chained Echoes so I found the sample idea from there. Really cool soundtrack. This beats a simple idea, but Im always looking for the loop that never gets old.
Boom Bap style beat that is very chop heavy. This is the type of music I started making and probably am best at. Dilla Time inspired me to get back into the sample chopping hard hitting beats again. I've never been great at the 70bpm slow drums with wobbly piano type lofi that people love, but I can make a hard hitting, sample chopped dj premier type beat with the best of em. This one samples a couple of Zelda dungeon tracks from Minish Cap.
New Track! Sampled the morning sunlight track from Chrono Trigger and made this. Sounds cool. Thanks for listening
