She starts off in the levitating phase, throwing her beam swords directly at you. You absolutely CANNOT let this attack hit you, because it has the high likelihood that it'll trap you endlessly until you die. The strike knocks you down, and by the time you get yourself back up, she'll have thrown another one and knocked you back down again. You can probably time it right to avoid one of the beams, but if you get hit by it in the beginning, you might as well start over.
When you get close enough to her, she'll slam her swords down on the ground in a spider formation, potentially knocking you way back and dealing significant damage. Roll away from her when she's about to fall, then come back and deal some punishment. After you beat on her a few times, she'll move to the ground and fight you one-on-one (more like two-on-five, but anyway).
The attack that leaves her open the most is a double slash followed by a jump attack. When she gets ready to execute the jump attack, roll forward to dodge it and let fly as many blows as you can land. Another attack of hers will be a huge flurry of swings and swipes and slashes, until it ends with a sudden charge that can really put you off guard. Her final ground attack is a simple slash that can be easily dodged, but try to use the Step-in Slice to counter it instead of a regular attack. It'll do more damage.
Every now and then, she'll move back to her levitating phase (as indicated when she abruptly starts rolling wildly away from you). Just treat it like you did before and you'll be fine, so long as you dodge the beam sword projectiles. However, when she's got about three squares of life left, she'll move back to this phase for the rest of the battle, so you're stuck there until you defeat her.
One annoying tendency of hers, as you'll see in the video, is that she tends to back herself into the corner, which makes her really annoying to fight. When that happens, carefully try to weasel her out of there without taking any damage. She'll get out of there eventually, and believe me, it'll be worth it. Fighting her while she's cornered is not a good idea.
So I wish you the best of luck on this battle! I prefer Rose Nasty because you're gonna need a fast sword in order to take advantage of the downtime between her attacks. Don't be afraid to use your ecstasy gauge if you need to. And yes, I did just beat her without taking a single hit. I feel proud. :3
He'll use one of two starting attacks at the beginning of the match (and again each time he teleports away from you). He will either summon four rocks and throw them at you, or shoot multiple lasers from his spaceship. If he throws rocks at you, then stay back and don't attack him until they're all gone. The lasers can be especially annoying as a direct hit will automatically set your ecstasy gauge back to 0. Run or roll around them, especially if they're coming down as you're attacking Vladimir.
Another really common attack will be a white laser that comes from his visor. This laser can be clashed (only at close range), but doing so while the shield is still up is pointless, since your strike will just bounce off. Just run around to his backside and start slashing to get in some decent hits.
That's pretty much all there is until he gets down to 25% of his health, where he'll lose his shield and gain two new attacks (he'll also increase the speed of his regular attacks). The first one is a humongous laser he summons from the spaceship, which is indicated when he levitates higher into the air. Start running when this happens, and don't stop until the laser dissipates, as I'm pretty sure this is a one-hit kill. The second attack is a rotating blue laser. He'll rotate counter-clockwise, so you wanna run along with him and stay ahead of the laser as much as you can. Do NOT attempt to roll under it unless you're at a distance and you have no choice. Dodging is very risky when it comes to this attack; you're best off just avoiding it altogether.
So if you can get past that phase, you're good to go. Rose Nasty, again, is my preferred sword, but Blood Berry would also work well since he's a big target. I've heard of some people using Peony on this fight, but I think he runs away too often to use that sword effectively. Either way, it's your choice.
Margaret will start at the top of the rotating billboard, shooting you with a very powerful sniper rifle. Even blocking one of these shots can be dangerous, as it drains a large portion of your battery power. All you need to do to get her down is to approach the billboard (should be easy when the match starts). She'll fly off and hover for a bit, then make an abrupt strike with little to no warning. Actually, the only warning you get is when she glows pink for a split second, so roll away the second you see her glow.
After that, she'll teleport away and start shooting you from ground level. Again, as soon as you see her glow pink, do a roll to avoid losing a large amount of battery power (it's gonna be a hassle to recharge it with her shooting you all the time). When you get close, start slashing her and she'll move on to her melee phase.
As previously stated, all of her melee attacks are quite basic and really easy to dodge, with one strange exception. The two-part slash as seen at 1:12 has a way of locking up the roll buttons if you get hit by the first slash. I don't know if any of you guys have experienced this, or if I'm the only one, but as you can see at 3:24, Travis was completely incapable of dodging after getting hit by the first swipe (and yes, I was pushing the roll button). So try to avoid that attack, rather than attempt to block it.
Once she gets down to about 25% of her health, she'll retreat to the billboard again and start the process anew. Just remember that when you see the sniper laser flash, roll immediately to avoid eating that powerful shot. It's definitely powerful enough to destroy one of those containers in one shot, so just imagine what it can do if it hits you.
That's really all there is to it. Margaret was the first boss I ever beat in Deathmatch mode (mainly due to the health powerups), and so she shouldn't be too much trouble if you play it safe. Any sword will do fine, but I guess Rose Nasty is my default sword for the bosses.
Let's start with her two most annoying attacks. The first one is a spinning slap (when she yells "yippee!") that can really hammer you if you're not ready for it. When you see her wind up for it, immediately dash away from her and charge up Henry's projectile attack for when she's done. Her other most annoying attack is a salvo of rockets that, thanks to the camera, can be difficult to predict when they'll hit the ground. Try to guesstimate it as best you can and dodge accordingly.
Mimmy will also fire her robot fists at Henry, then grab him and piledrive him into the ground, dealing significant damage. When the fists get close and try to grab you, roll out of the way, then use Henry's projectiles on her while she's recovering. After a while, she'll retract them (although failed to do so once in the video, strangely).
She has a large slap attack that can give you some problems if you're too close (her hand will enlarge, giving her extended range). Also amongst her easily-dodged attacks are a green laser beam and a flying ground pound. They shouldn't require any effort to dodge and counter-attack.
So that's basically it. Just remember not to stay too close to her for long, and use those projectiles whenever possible (they took away two squares of health at one point in the video). With that in mind, Mimmy shouldn't be too much trouble.
The best way to win, especially in Bitter mode, is to trick Ryuji into driving off the edge of the cliff by himself. In order to do that, you have to stand in between him and the cliff's edge, and when he does his charge attack, immediately boost out of the way so he careens helplessly off the stage.
So how does one go about doing that? When the match starts, get a few boosted bumps in before he starts charging his boost up. Get in front of him and allow him to fly right by you, and then turn around and stay there as he hits you closer to the edge (basically, just follow what I do in the video). Then, he should boost up again, but then you'll move out of the way and he'll boost right off. If that fails, bring it over to the small outlet just immediately ahead and try it again. Also, note that if you even touch him while he's charging his boost up, you'll go flying in the other direction, potentially off the cliff.
Now the swordfight is where it's at. Ryuji's main attack will be the charge (what's with him and charge attacks?). Just roll in any direction once he pulls his naginata back and counter accordingly. Another attack is a flurry of quick stabs followed by a more powerful stab. Just stay back until he's done stabbing and dodge the big stab that follows. His last main attack is a simple double slash, although he may eschew the second slash in favor of a grapple, so watch for that.
But then there's his most iconic attack: the dragon. When he gets to 75% of his health, he'll start releasing this dragon very often, and it'll eat up your battery very quickly if you're not careful (the main reason why I'm using Rose Nasty for this fight). When he starts charging up the attack, get some distance from him and fully charge your battery. Then, when he releases it, start rolling. Roll and run as far away as possible (and don't forget to dodge Ryuji's attacks too), and don't attack Ryuji until the dragon's gone underground. Then, after a while, it will come back up, at which point it will be gone until Ryuji calls it again. So when it comes back up and the background brightens up again, you're safe. Just stay extra vigilant until then for the pink glow.
Good luck, especially on the motorcycle bit (luck will be a pretty big factor in that fight, I gotta admit). And as I said, I used Rose Nasty because of its superior battery life, but others may want to choose a stronger sword since Ryuji does have a lot of health.
His only two attacks are Destroy Beam and Destroy Cannon. The Destroy Beam is easily dodged and countered at close range, since he doesn't change direction after he shoots. The Destroy Cannon, however, is homing and will instantly knock you down if it connects. Try to either get behind an obstacle to block it, or slice him up before he can shoot it.
Now, in order to get some good hits on him, you need to jump up to his level. The best place to get up there is the stack of crates right ahead of where you fought Destroyman Red. Jump up there as quickly as you can (but carefully; jumping can be quite a contest sometimes) and slash him as much as you can before he takes off again. If he lands on the ground, go down there and intercept him before he can revive Red.
After you've intercepted him on the ground, he'll fly back up to the second level, and it just repeats like so. Occasionally, he'll fly over to the far end of the arena. Do not follow him; instead, run back to Red's body and guard it. The reason is, Blue will immediately go over to Red's body to revive it once he's flown over to that far end. Every time.
That's mostly it. Just remember that your priority is to prevent Blue from reviving Red, and you should base your whole combat strategy around that one fact. Just stay close to his body, and you should be fine.
The first order of business is to get out of the open, by running behind the large crate in the back corner to ensure that you're safe from Destroyman Blue. This crate will block all of Blue's attacks, so you can fight Red without much trouble. The problem is that this crate doesn't take up much room, so you don't have much cover to work with. Thus, you'll be forced to keep the battle in a very small space.
Let's move onto Red's attacks. He has a simple melee attack that consists of two punches and a jump kick. If you can Darkstep this, that would open him up a lot. But even if you don't, you can still get a few slices in. His next most common attack is the Destroy Spark, which has less range than it appears. Still, if it hits you, you'll be stunned, so get back when he starts charging up. He also has a flying dive attack, so dodge that when he jumps up, but don't attack him when he's finished (there's no downtime when he's finished with that). Finally, he'll rarely use the Destroy Beam, which you can easily dodge and counter.
When he gets low on health, he and Blue will both activate the Destroy Buster. While they're charging it up, it will act as a vacuum and pull you towards it until they release it. Just stay back behind the crate and wait for it to blow over. Make sure it hits the giant crate so it will explode harmlessly.
Good luck! When Red goes down, we'll focus on Blue, and that's where the fun begins.
So let's look at it from the beginning. His main attack is, of course, his gun. When he aims it at you, immediately pummel him with a series of low attacks, which will either stun him momentarily or knock him down completely. If he falls down, hit him once with a low attack, then rinse and repeat. However, if you miss, then you're looking at a steady stream of bullets (oh, and by the way, he shoots money).
One thing he does do when he's down is he'll get up abruptly and slap Shinobu in the face, knocking her down. Then he'll run like a little coward into one of the doors. It doesn't do much damage at all, but watch for that because it will break your chain.
When he runs through one of the doors, check the bottom floor first to see if he's still down there before trying to jump up to the second floor. In my experience, I've noticed that he goes upstairs a lot sooner on Bitter mode than the other difficulty settings. You do have a lot less space to maneuver around on the top floors, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem. The most annoying thing is when he tries to shoot you on the stairs.
So other than that, no sweat! Enjoy, because the next Shinobu fight is a bit of a doozy.
Shake's earthquake attack comes in three different speeds, and they're indicated by the pitch of his voice. The deeper his voice is, the longer the countdown will be. During the long countdown, you should be able to reach him from anywhere as long as you're in the middle. You might be able to reach him from a short distance during the middle countdown, but for the short countdown, you need to either be really close to him or looking for the closest available platform. As you can see at 2:18, I sorely miscalculated and the earthquake deals a TON of damage.
The laser is really the only other thing you need to worry about. When he starts charging it up, start running towards him. When he shoots it, wait until it gets close to you and then roll forward. Hopefully that will help close the distance so you can reach him safely.
His last attack is a tiny ground pound that he uses when you're right next to him. When he lifts his legs but doesn't make a beeping noise, then roll away from him until he's finished.
That's really all you need to know about Shake. I think Rose Nasty suits him best, but the reason I started with Peony here was basically because I started this battle right after fighting Cloe. And if you need to use your ecstasy gauge, go right ahead.
She'll probably spam the poison attack a lot, especially early in the battle. If you do get poisoned by it, then stick around and let her get on top of you. You'll get healed immediately, and it's easy to win the clash that ensues.
Her shriek attack is easily avoided, as is the eyebeam attack (though that one is much rarer). Just sneak in whenever she's done and beat her senseless. But later in the battle, she'll acquire a new attack, where she'll send a large number of shadow waves around the arena. They can be tricky to avoid, but they really don't hurt you that badly.
So yeah, not much to say about Cloe. You should have absolutely zero trouble with her.
By far, his most annoying attack is the Molotov cocktails. When he starts throwing them (indicated by when he says "yeah!"), duck behind the nearest wall and stay far away, because the blaze can still hit you if you're standing right up against the wall.
The attack that leaves him open the most is the flamethrower. When he growls, get right up in his face and start beating down on him. The flames cannot hit you if you are right in front of him. Another attack that leaves him open is his running strike. Do a forward roll when he swings, and attack accordingly.
His other attacks can be easily dodged and countered. However, when he gets to about 25% of his health, he'll swing his axe again after he's done attacking, in hopes of tricking you into letting your guard down. When this point comes, do a forward roll after his attack to ensure you dodge the subsequent swing.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that when Kimmy swings her katana, it goes all the way around, so you can't avoid damage by staying behind her, like most bosses. It's best to stay back and roll in when she's done with her combo.
When she swings her arms, she'll do a quick twirl that's easy to dodge and opens her up to attack. However, her other most common attack is a series of twirls (where she says "here I go!" each time) that ends with a long twirling attack. Don't be taken off guard by this, as it can override your defense if it hits you on the first go.
As her health gets lower, she'll start to minimize downtime between attacks, making it difficult to get in on her. Just keep whaling on her with Rose Nasty (Blood Berry also works too), and she'll go down real soon.
Anyways, there's not a whole lot to say about Charlie. Guard against the Death Parade Punch and jump kick to counter the Death Parade Beam. And when he guards, jump kick him to do some damage. When he's caught in the corner, only hit him once because he will use the Death Parade Punch to get himself out.
And I feel like such an idiot. I totally forgot the guard button was there, so I took a lot of stupid hits.
That's basically it. Nothing to it!
The chandelier can be a possible benefit to you, because Nathan can get hurt by it as well. Just be sure to stay out of the middle of the room as much as possible. The lion statues are by far the most annoying hazard, as they home in on you when you get close (and Nathan sure loves hanging around them). When you're fighting near one, do a lot of rolling and don't be afraid to fall back.
The exploding plants shouldn't be a huge problem, but there are several in the bedroom (the only "safe" area of the arena), so watch for that. And finally, the conveyor belts can be really annoying, especially with that chandelier to worry about. Just stay mobile when fighting Nathan, and you'll do fine.
Again, I use Rose Nasty because the machine gun turrets will drain your battery life very quickly. And because Nathan doesn't have a lot of health, you don't have to worry too much about its lack of power.
Anyways, Skelter Helter can be a little tricky at first in Deathmatch mode. He's somewhat unpredictable, in that he's never immediately open to attack when he's done his triple shot. He'll do one of three attacks: a quadruple slash, a double slash followed by heavy gunfire, or a kick followed by a jump attack.
The first attack, the quadruple slash (where he shouts "fuck you" at the end), is the one you want. You want to roll towards him right before he shouts "fuck you." This leaves him wide open. The second attack is a little tougher, since your attacks won't necessarily phase him immediately afterward. The third attack can leave him open, if you can dodge it. If the kick manages to connect, whether you block it or not, he'll do the jump attack. Dodge that, and you got a bunch of free hits on him.
Oh, and I used Rose Nasty because it has the best battery life and recovery time, since Skelter Helter's gun drains the battery rather quickly.

By the way, anyone notice that cockroach enemy that sometimes appears behind one of the walls? I'm not sure why it's only there half the time, or why it's the only cockroach in the entire game. But it sure freaks me out when it does appear, considering the incredibly cramped quarters, its massive size compared to you, and the fact that I really hate cockroaches.
