Things had to change so using leftover junkyard scrap I welded up a simple plinking table and fixed up a solid foundation for it. Because so much was almost free junk, 'all in' I spent about $200. ------------------------------------------------------------- BTS: working on POV coversation format. also learning Davinci Resolve (it's a struggle as everything is different from the Premier I've been using for 20 years). so hang in there as I learn.Dead Soldiers88 Pellets2023-07-16 | There was a massive soiree at the officer mess. A real clash of wills between fighters and shots. The end result left many dead soldiers on the field. Given this situation the "Crazy 88" pellet platoon was given the honor of handling the disposal of these fallen spirits.

------------------------------------------------------------- BTS: the flickering is an LED thing. GoPro's only have two settings (50hrz & 60hrz). This was better of two. I think it's because I used string lights bunched together to light up Oil Pipe from up-top. Some kind of syncopation. When I get money I'll try something else. Also will work on scope cam. It's hard to see focus through scope. Getting better each time. Also, this one was too long. 2-3 minutes is the goal.Peeps vs Crazy 88 Pellet Platoon - Test Episode88 Pellets2023-06-12 | PEEPS are evil. They pollute our kids with energy and drama. Unavoidable every year. Except... will the Crazy 88 Pellet Platoon be able to put them in their place once and for all after encountering the first scout of the season?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FX Dreamline Lite 600mm, .177 FX 10.34 diabolo, +/- 880fps @ 47+ yards --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This was a test of concept. I hadn't planned on making it public as the first videos are always horrid. But it does offer a glimpse where I want to go.
Things I learned here: - give up on the green screen effects (for now) - simplify story - slow-mo first shot but cut the rest at normal speed - record backyard nature sounds as white noise or choose background music ahead of time to edit to the beat/theme - shoot video horizontal but frame better for a vertical variant that can be used in various shorts. - lower front light to show faces better.
We'll get better. Any suggestions? It had to start somewhere.... the Crazy 88 Pellet Platoon is coming soon.88 Pellets2022-07-18 | I've had this wild idea of a fun destructive channel. One where a group of miscreant military misfits never get anything right yet get it done in a fun way via stop-motion animation and green screens. Low budget juvenile stupidity. In this video I bring you along building the "Impact and Explosion Resistant Stop-Motion Animation Sound Stage". Then try my first attempts with green screen editing.
What I learned is I need to get lighting to blow out the green screen so shadows don't show. Not to use slow-mo (except maybe for the first shot) and figure out better camera angles in that small space.
In the coming episodes expect to meet some interesting characters, here slightly inappropriate jokes and return to a time when you enjoyed mess'n stuff up.
