Nine (UK) - live in Whitstable 21st June 1996 The Woodsmans Axe 2021-05-12 | Nine (UK) - live at the Whitstable Assembly Rooms, 21st June 1996.A rare live recording of an early gig by Whitstable band Nine, the band formed by ex-members of Door Marked Summer and Crow in 1996-97. Nine only released one 3-song demo, so this recording is the only document of most of these tracks. This showcases the band at their most ferocious, with a hardcore dub/punk sound that evokes Fugazi, Killing Joke and AOS3. Later gigs introduced a few more dance-influenced songs, but these remain lost until further recordings surface.Two of the songs are cut short by the tape, and I reckon there are at least one or two missing songs from the end of the set (I'm guessing "Bells" and "MDMA"), but this is still a fantastic document of a band that made a huge impact on me. Some years ago I was in contact with Alexander, and he agreed to send me the rest of the demo, but unfortunately this never happened.If anyone has any more tracks from this demo I would love to hear them.
