Aurora Flying Coaster @ Silk Road Paradise, Xian, China - onride POV Big Small Roller Coaster World 2025-09-23 | Our trips are always planned around the coasters on our bucket list. A coaster that has been number one on that list is Aurora Flying Coaster at Silk Road Paradise in Xi'an. We were spited by it on our first visit back in 2024 when only one of the four roller coasters were open.This year we optimized our planning, making sure that we visited the park on a weekend and indeed, the only coaster that was closed was the Intamin Zac Spin coaster that only seems to serve for decoration, inspiration or something else ...Back to the Aurora Flying Coaster. The reason why we wanted to ride it so badly is because it almost looks like a B&M coaster. It uses a similar rectangular backbone and the trains have that B&Mish feeling to it.But it is not a B&M but a Jinma Rides flying coaster, their only example so far.Interestingly the loading system was inspired by the old Vekoma Flying Coasters, letting you sit in the train in a backwards position then bringing the seats in a lying-on-the-back position. Family Roller Coaster @ Guiyang Happy World, Guiyang, China - onride POV Big Small Roller Coaster World 2025-09-09 | Sometimes it is not the ride itself that makes a roller coaster memorable, but the adventure around it.Here is what happened:When we visited Guiyang Happy World the Family Roller Coaster was closed because several members of staff were working on the track. We asked whether the coaster would open later. After some internal discussions of the maintenance crew we were told that we could ride it in 15 minutes.When we returned a quarter hour later the staff cleared the ride area and we were able to board the train to ride the coaster. Some other guest also had a ride on the coaster and then the coaster closed again so that the staff could continue their work.Awesome! Of the eight that we have ridden so far, we have picked two for our newest "versus" video.The layout of Bravest Warrior Roller Coaster @ Xuzhou Amusement Land, China, is competing against Giant Digger @ Lotte World Adventure Busan, South Korea. The latter is the only Blue Fire model that features a mirrored layout. So in principle it is the same coaster it just does every movement the other way round. But there was no sign whatsoever of the track.6 years later we revisited the park only to find out that the suspended coaster had never been built and the original station building had been removed.
