SING WITH THE STARS - DOOLEY WILSON Chelsea Rialto Studios 2022-10-26 | This was originally a segment in G.I. WEEKLY, a series of 16mm shorts distributed and shown to service men and women throughout the world during World War II. "Sing With the Stars" was a recurring segment (as was "Private Snafu") and this one features Dooley Wilson "at home with his family". In addition to appearing in CASABLANCA, Wilson also starred on Broadway in CABIN IN THE SKY. This short was filmed during Wilson's two-picture stint at RKO, during which he appeared in HIGHER AND HIGHER and SEVEN DAYS ASHORE. The brass section in the first number is without doubt part of the RKO orchestra.

Also included is the scene in Kay Thorndike's office that does NOT INCLUDE the resignation of her editors. The part with the editors was not included until Capra retrieved ownership from MGM and reissued the film himself. Also included is the original tolling bell End Title. As most cinephiles know, the reissue main titles misspelled Katharine Hepburn's name (as "Katherine").

The Dominant Sea Hawk! Chelsea Rialto Studios 2021-03-15 | When Key Video was releasing UA-owned Warner Bros. classics they somehow (BUT HOW!?) released the 109 minute (cut from 122/127) Dominant Pictures reissue of THE SEA HAWK. Here is the original opening to that historic release! To their credit, when Key (a division of CBS/Fox Home Video) was made aware of their gross error they actually went the extra mile and had UA import from the BFI the long-unseen 127 minute version of the film. The standard release of THE SEA HAWK ran 122 minutes but Key made good on their mistake. In addition to being complete (with Flora Robson's extended speech at the finale), the 35mm print featured the sepia toned footage set in Panama.
