Tifa326x Announcement Tifa326x 2014-05-24 | Hey!It's been a long time, hasn't it? I'm not sure how many of you will see this, but all I know is that the editing community has moved on a lot ever since my presence here has dwindled -- with new editors, new music etc -- and I can't believe it's almost been a year since my last proper upload. I guess I never had a chance to upload a proper announcement about what has been happening with me the past almost-year, and one day - namely today - I decided to think, and decided to upload this little video so I can communicate to those who may still be actively subscribed to me.A lot has happened. I am more comfortable in my new apartment, and my work-load at university increased drastically to the point I was unable to gather the motivation to sit down and plot out a new video, and personally I felt my style just did not fit in with the new norm, and my confidence was just wavering at this point. However, over this past year I've learned a lot of things. My final ever deadline is in two weeks, and I finally graduate university after studying there for four years, but over that time I have just learned so much more in terms of graphic design etc. A part of me would really like to return to editing fan-videos when time allows it, but since I won't be weighed down with dissertations etc, I might find it within me to bounce back with new ideas and make a new break in a seemingly new community.I miss a lot of people. Back during my "prime" -- if I am to be so bold -- I was surrounded by a lot of amazing editors, but I saw them gradually disappear just before my hiatus, and I guess I began losing reasons to even be here. But, some of you still remain and I would really like to get back in contact with a lot of the people whom inspired me, whom I inspired, and who I just generally loved talking to. I guess this is an apology for dropping off the face of the earth. For losing the will to edit, and to never make deadlines for the studios I was still in because of technical and motivation issues. I'm planning on working on something over the summer, but like I said before, I really wonder how many people still remember. I have not been around the editing scene for a long time and even this upload is not even a "video", when it's actually from two for Bamf studios. There are a number of reasons for my withdrawal from the community, but it isn't against anyone just to assure you.My first reason being is University. It took a lot of my time even during the GMV awards and I am sure some of those judges who I was working alongside would have noticed the stress I was under when trying to juggle this recreation time with my coursework. And of course I have part-time job which also sapped away those hours which I might have used in the past for video editingAnother reason is that a lot of those whom I conversed with about editing, or edited with have moved onto other things or have disappeared entirely. And its a saddening thing to witness every time I log onto youtube where I am unable to reach out to the "new blood" which have risen with many genres that I am not savvy in. Of course, I will occasionally watch the odd GMV and AMV, but usually I use youtube now to watch game reviews, listen to music or find dorky anime shorts.I am unsure if I am make a full return as I am without vegas once more, putting the only studio I am in currently in a position where I am unable to dish out parts and I am incredibly sorry. My tech issues are incredibly annoying and if I am able to find a way to get vegas back without it spazzing on me again, I may make a full return to editing. For now you may only see me do the occasional mep part, or perhaps even nothing at all.For those who want to contact me, you can message me for my skype. I had some issues with the song I had to use (which I did not like at all), but eventually I got something working and I even managed to include poetry - which is something which appears in the majority of my videos and with this style, I tried to think about how I could still include it. It's unlike my other videos, this area of editing still a bit of a blur to me but I am always willing to try new things so this is giving me a chance to explore. It is especially good for practicing flow. At first, I was doubtful I was even going to complete this but I woke up and did some hardcore editing to get it done before it closed..today. My first video for the first round was a character study of Genesis - the character I chose for the contest (The contest itself was dedicated to "Scarlet Haired Characters"). I have NOT forgotten! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Backstory: Aerith was always under the constant watch of Shinra, but it came a point where she was no longer needed and in order to keep others from using her against the company, Shinra had ordered Sephiroth to assassinate her. Unknown to the company, Genesis Rhapsodos - a 1st Class SOLDIER - had taken great interest in Aerith, quite sure she was always the one mentioned in LOVELESS whom would save the world. He visited her in secret and had become attached and romantically involved with her. On news of her death, Genesis' heart and mind broke apart and he was drifting into insanity. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ After her death, Genesis had began to suffer nightmares and was acting strange around SOLDIER, from which Zack noticed. Zack approached Genesis and tried to speak to him, only to be cast aside and ignored. Zack told Sephiroth of his concerns and yet when both of them tried to seek answers, they were ignored once again. During a briefing with Lazard, Zack noticed the alarm had been set off and Shinra was under attack - by Genesis. Genesis, with the desire for revenge, set fire to the building and fought all those that approached him with the intention to kill. There was no choice but to issue a new order to eliminate Genesis. Zack pursued Genesis all the way to Aerith's church, where Genesis was experiencing more flashbacks of Aerith tending to her flowers. When Zack entered, Genesis used the Goddess Materia within his posession to absorb the Lifestream in the area and be warped to a completely new place for them to commence their final battle, Genesis knowing that he will surely die. Genesis began to transform into Genesis Avatar which manifested from his building rage. But when Zack shouted to him and when Aerith appeared in his mind again, the transformation ceased and he was able to have an honorable battle with Zack instead. Genesis - weaker from the pain which was inflicted from Aerith's death - fell to Zack's blade and the Lifestream illusion around them disappeared and they were both left in a cave. With Genesis dying, he eventually saw a light and took hold of a warm and gentle hand to travel through the events of what happened. He saw Aerith's face during the flashes of images and was finally reunited with an apology. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ I started this video months ago and only decided to actually finish it, whilst taking this chance to practise my masking. I want to dedicate this video to BabyFantasiaxx for helping me out a little with both editing and also outside editing. I know you like Aerith, I just apologise the story is somewhat tragic @@ fufu~ I really wanted to do a complete GMV, even if it's completely not a story video, I wanted to incorporate a simple tale at least. The city had descended into chaos the moment rule was replaced by force and blood. He however was the product of a series of experiments and also bears a robotic left arm which he covers with his coat and gloves in public. As well as that, he also has a single black wing, a trait in any product related to the JENOVA project.The outcast was approached by another mercenary named Lightning, who led a resistance group against the new rule which terrorized the city along with two other brave members. She was looking for a mage, a red mage capable of weilding both a blade and use magic at once. She asked Genesis if he hated how things were, he replied questioning if he was able to live up to her expectations. But with her next answer, he had to prove himself. Prove himself worthy of being a hero in the chaos which loomed over the city. Basically the "Art" is Squall's imagination, but he doesn't have the motivation to release it to aim to greater heights. I think YT attacked my quality..again. This is my next entry for RaikoElric's Azure Melody BBT, Round Four. Each of us was given a quote which we needed to incorporate in our video or just simply base our video upon. I was given this: "Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror" At first it seemed quite daunting, but I did a lot of thinking because at first glance I thought this was something about image when I saw the words "Beauty" and "Mirror" but then I realised it has nothing to do with that at all. So, with that in mind I actually split the quote up and gave the most important words a definition. Beauty = An outstanding example of it's kind. Eternity = Time without end. Mirror = Reflect only which is seen. This was the basis of what I wanted to do. Beauty seems to be a word which is only used in image or most people only connect it with image. But this quote is actually a metaphor for inward reflection. What you see in the mirror is an "outstanding example" of your kind. Everything we see is "You" which gives this sense of "Eternity". So in the video I was trying to show as many different people as I could to show that everyone is a perfect example of their kind even though they are naturally the same. I just hope this ain't too whacky. And I SO did not finish this at 4am -shifty eyes- sleeping problems lately. ══════════════════════════════ We had a choice of songs and I chose Hunter covered by 30 Seconds to Mars and it seemed to match some personal experiences. I've had the recurring dream (Or nightmare) of being hunted by dinosaurs x'D and when I checked one day what it meant it was like "Past memories coming back to haunt you" So I thought "Ok, I might include this". So basically, this is a nightmare which Laguna has and the story goes that Laguna and Sephiroth are hunting for each other because of a past experience. Sephiroth murdered Raine and wants to finish off Laguna whilst Laguna is hunting Sephiroth for revenge. In reality, this has never happened, but Raine had already passed away during childbirth so Laguna believes that this is a way his mind is making him remember of her death. I wanted it to look trippy, but not TOO trippy. And keep in mind not all the text is meant to be readable, thats just for uh..trippyness. Oh and I named it dreamcatcher because their trying to catch/hunt each other. It was planned months ago but considering I was hacked with assignments and various other MEP/WORM parts, it took me longer to do my parts because of this. I promised myself I could be done before Christmas as a sort of..Christmas present for Lis? And I managed to keep that promise despite still being hacked with other commitments but I didn't want to make Lis wait any longer and I wanted it finally finished too. This collab is probably one which touches my heart the most. I remember when we were planning it and we really wanted to do something inspirational. I think those endless hours looking for a suitable song whilst chatting on MSN really paid off, because I'm so happy with the result (Lis's parts way own mine btw just pointing that out ;D) She is also one of my favourite editors, a big inspiration. Her videos are so captivating and full of emotion and she works really hard on them. I was so happy that we were able to do a collab (Even though it took forever) and Lis has become a really close friend of mine over the time we started talking. So yeah, I really hope you enjoy this! The Fox & The Flowers Tifa326x 2010-08-30 | Please Read & Watch in HQ ══════════════════════════════ Note: Forgive me if you spot any masking errors X-x; ══════════════════════════════ After the battle of Odawara Castle, Mitsunari was split from his friends and was desperate to find them all again. He never knew the area around him, and the presence of first snow gave a sign that winter was now the new season. He stumbled across the land around the battlefield, coming across a large open field full of a variety of different flowers. But the dark blue winter sky dimmed the colour of those flowers, as if they were frozen in time. He looked beyond the field, hoping to find a glimpse of his comrades in the distance that thought he died during the battle. Mitsunari, the Fox of Mt Sawa, then spotted a woman amongst the field. But she soon disappeared as the snow blinded his vision as it grew worse and worse. He glanced around the field, trying to find the woman again, but all he could see were the stagnant flowers. He turned around to stare at the battlefield again. It had no flowers, no grass. No one was there. He fell to his knees, giving off the sign that he had given up. He wasn't going to make it home alive in conditions like this. He was injured. He was tired. He was alone. Aerith observed the man as he suffered the cold and the winds. She was a flower maiden, a spirit which resided amongst large open areas of flowers to guide lost people back home. She took pity on the fox and swore to herself she'd do anything she could to reunite him with his friends. As Mitsunari struggled to keep his composure against the weather, the area around him began to brighten. He became confused when he lost himself yet again in complete white. After a few moments, he felt a warm air brush across his skin, a faint wind caress his hair. He was stood beneath a large cherry blossom, the largest he had ever seen. He looked ahead of him to see the woman once again. This time, his vision was clear and he could make out her long brunette locks and her emerald green eyes. "Are you lost?" A soft voice said. "Yeah" Mitsunari replied, staring at the mysterious woman who brought him out of winters baltic touch. "Look over there" She said, as she turned away stepping into a bright light which blinded him once again. As his eyes focused, he was stood in front of his friend Yukimura who offered him a drink of water. Still under the same large cherry blossom tree. He was finally reunited with his friends, but he still wondered who that woman was. ══════════════════════════════ To BabyFantasiaxx, Well I noticed you were quite down lately monkey. So I decided to make this, and I worked on it throughout the night to get it up the next day. I wanted to create like a mini fairytale sort of story, because you always make me think of fairytales. I have no idea why, you just do x'D I think its because of all the original storylines you come up with in your videos which makes them so inspiring, so I decided to try and make something original about a Samurai who gets left behind by his comrades because they think he was killed in battle, and then he gets rescued by a flower spirit. Mitsunari Ishida is known as "The Fox of Mt Sawa" in Samurai Warriors, so thats why the title is the way it is. And of course, Aerith is the flower girl and she deemed to be the best character for the part. I was going to use Vanille, but I wasn't sure lol I hope you like it. I'm not sure if it will cheer you up or not, but I hope you like it at least. Resplendent like fireflies, the serpants traced her porcelain skin, Embracing her locks as she wondered into the abyss. The man stood, apple in hand as his eyes drifted beyond the darkness. Two moons lit around the pupils, guiding the transparent water to its fate. His voice echoed, her lips trembled. The knowledge was both uncanny and strangly beautiful, Her emerald cup was now full, the journey awaits. ══════════════════════════════ So I've finally decided to finish the last installment of this trilogy of videos. Which means this is after Genesis was taken to Deepground and basically disappeared from records. ══════════════════════════════ Aerith found herself in a place where all was empty except she could see the faint lines of her church now and again. She felt in extreme darkness and she didn't really know where she was. As she walked around the darkness a bright red light followed her to which she soon noticed. As she spoke to the light, it shone brighter and soon a mysterious man appeared wearing SOLDIER attire but she has never seen him before. She questioned the man and he answered, telling her why he was there. Aerith questioned him about "World's End" and he stared at her and made a decision to show her. Aerith had no idea how he found all of this out, but she had a feeling that LOVELESS was more than just an ancient story, but a story about her. He raised his hand in the air and soon a small ball of light illuminated the entire dream. Aerith saw the events which would happen in the near future and Genesis spoke her through it to help her make sense of it. He told her that she was both the "Hero of the Dawn" and the "Healer of Worlds" and would be the one to save the world from a man named Sephiroth, who was destined to summon meteor upon the planet. But, the word "Sacrifice" escaped the lips of the man. Sacrifice? And then she realised. A Hero? - Story to Part III Aerith was unsure what to say, after Genesis had told her everything about her destiny, her fate. She was both confused and shocked. He told her that he was never the hero of Loveless, and he found this out when he finally met the Goddess on the last leg of his journey for salvation. The Goddess gave him instructions to tell everything to the "real" hero, and that was why he was within her dreams. As Genesis walked away, he disappeared amongst the blackness. Aerith was now alone again, thinking about everything she had just experienced and had been told. Still confused, she pondered what to do. But deep inside her, she accepted her fate and a small glimmer of pride twinkled in her eye that she was actually something important to everyone. I'm so glad I got through and I was put in the no-effects group against xX1994rulesXx. I wasn't allowed to use any fancy effects but I was allowed to choose any song that I wanted. I was allowed however to use: - Fade - Pan/Crop - Zoom - Black and White - Text So, I used a lot of black and white (I love working with that effect) and I used the text to be the main focus of the video. Hopefully this will get me through, if not, I had fun. Even though I did this quite quickly, it took me a while still. I was just so inspired to make it and when I'm inspired, I don't stop in till its finished. ══════════════════════════════ I had a dream, which was not all a dream. I dunno what it is that keeps you people wanting to press my yellow button but I'm proud to say I've got over 700 subscribers now. I give my thanks and to all my friends as well, and I made this little video here just for you - Its because I'm nioce ══════════════════════════════ Bawwww you guyz ~ This was orginally supposed to be planned for another video, another one of those poem videos to be exact like the "That Friend" video, but the idea long since died and I made it into a little well, I dunno really. The beta tester for the previous video was Threadstotwelve, and Thready made an important point about the writing I had in it. After taking Marik's (aka Thready's) advice, I tried to sort it out but I couldn't get it right. So I decided I would use that poem for another video in the near or too distant future. I also wanted to try something a little different, I wanted to see if I could get my timing spot on, and I think I got it right in this video. Its more about flow than anything else really, I've been practising for a while on my timing and I think I have improved, Woo -victory fanfare- I didn't really think I would reach this many subscribers to be honest. A few years ago I just made videos which had no meaning basically and then I started to get more interested in turning a video into something with more meaning after watching videos which are made out of awesomesauce. I then started to explore new ideas and new styles, and I guess my video collection is quite varied because I've been testing out so much. Hoozah! I'm an editor with no unique style. I dunno if thats a good thing or a bad thing..NomNom. I'm also proud to say that I am very happy in the studios I'm in. Woot! And also very proud of the ones I have created. Oh yeah, sorry it isn't the longest video ever either x0x Note 2: This video is not only for the Elemental Contest, this is also a birthday video to one of my best friends, which is HHRfangirl. She's a Generith nut, and I thought this would be a great present also, considering her birthday is today. I had no time to create two seperate videos. ══════════════════════════════ So yep, its finally done. I didn't actually think I would even get this done in time and I just found out today there has been an extension in the contest, which is great! I MAY decide to re-upload, depending on how annoying those little mistakes are. So the task was to create a video with the theme chosen. I was given the theme "Earth". It took me a while to think about what to do, but I got there eventually Dx And oh yes, there had to be a story included, which is down below right here, hope you like it! ══════════════════════════════ Aerith prayed in the moonlit garden, asking for life to be reborn so the Planet can go back to the way it was before. Before all the war, before Shinra. She had the power to create life, create anything which was born from the earth, it was her job to heal the planet. But as she prayed, a green light caught her eye. She turned round and say a giant orb like structure and within there was a man trapped inside. It was then that he suddenly burst out of it and landed right in front of her, his eyes being illuminated by the green moon which hovered over them both. Aerith looked upon his face, she felt a feeling she had never felt before. Love. They kissed once under the tree's and then he suddenly flew away into the night sky, did she make a mistake? As the days went on she couldn't stop thinking about him, when suddenly they both found themselves surrounded by a bright light, with flowers circling them both. She learned that he was a guardian, in fact, her guardian. He swore to the Goddess that he would protect the Planet, and all life that was created. They looked at each other and then reached out to one another, intertwining their fingers as the light got brighter and brighter. It was then that the whole world was engulfed in a flurry of flowers and feathers. The bare fields were green again, the mountains weren't dull anymore, and the forests were full of life. The Sky is the Limit - Option II (Intro) Tifa326x 2010-01-17 | P l e a s e - R e a d ══════════════════════════════ "A winner never stops trying." ~ ══════════════════════════════ Yep, this is for the "The Sky is the Limit - Comfirm your Audition" round. I decided to pick option 2 because well, I haven't done an intro in a long while, and I would prefer to have someone critisize an intro so I could get better at making them ^^ I tried pretty hard on this, and I wanted to bring in my own unique style to it by mixing both image and motion video. This whole competition is a chance to make me get better, and I really want to get better, so I'm going to do the best I can to get through each round so I can get more knowlegde on what works best in videos etc. The theme of this intro is the 3 SOLDIER's tied in with the play "LOVELESS" I've always liked Genesis, Sephiroth and Angeal and the story behind them, so I thought this idea would explain me as a person more. FFVII is my favourite Final Fantasy out of them all, so again, this intro shows my passion for that. At the start of the intro there are three words (They might not be easy to read Dx) But they say "Creativity, Difference and Imagination". Thats what I think editing is all about, being able to do something different. The next three words is how I like to present my work, those words are "Poetry, Stories and Emotion" I'm ready for your critism Mina xD This is one way for me to get better, and I believe this is the best way.
