Running Caltrain in Train Sim World 4!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-03-03 | Happy weekend! Today I will be running some Caltrain in Train Sim World 4. I will be running southbound to San Jose with a good ol' F40 in the lead and then returning northbound to San Francisco with a bombardier cab car. Come and enjoy the ride!
Amtrak and BNSF Trains in Bakersfield! ~ Feat. BNSF 130, Ferromex, Sticker Unit, Horn Shows, & MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-03-01 | I threw together a last minute video because I realized that I ran out of queued premiers so here this one. More clips from lovely Bakersfield. This is a good video as there are lots of variety of BNSF trains as well as Amtrak trains traveling into and out of California's central valley. Included you will see a couple Ferromex units, a BNSF sticker unit, a NS, and your more generic BNSF ACes and H1s. You will also see night clips of the Bakersfield yard job working Crome and Lonestary. This is a great local as the power is always something to look forward to. You will see BNSF 130 which is the only unrebuilt GP60M! It will lead the train later in the video so make sure you watch all the way through! This local is primarily always dash 8 locomotives so it is a nice switch up to see the 130 out here! There are plenty of awesome horn shows in this video as well as nice crews. Enjoy! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
4K Train Operations Through NorCal! ~ Davis, Martinez, Emeryville, Oakland, & Berkeley!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-28 | I took advantage of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and went all over the Bay Area to do some railfanning. I started out my day in Davis, like usual, where I then rode to Martinez. I only stopped in Martinez to see Amtrak 710 with the Venture equipment which is in my Venture set compilation video so go check it out! So the only clip from Martinez is a Capitol Corridor that picked me up and took me to Emeryville where I spent the morning and afternoon. It was very busy with not only Amtrak but there was lots of freight action as well! I caught a couple UP locals that had an awesome engineer. He played shave and a haircut on the outbound trip as well as returning in. There was also a BNSF local with two lite dash 8s. I also caught a couple road trains pulling into Oakland as well. I then hopped on another Amtrak to Oakland Jack London Square where I spent a few hours heading into the evening. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just the MRVOA making some switching moves that I was able to catch. Note CDTX 8311's horn unrestricted... I then head back towards Berkeley where I spent a couple hours in the evening. I saw CDTX 8306 leading the way to Bakersfield with its awesome P5 as always. I also saw the late California Zephyr just minutes away from the final destination. I then grab the last train I would ride for the day back to Davis where the adventures came to an end. Enough ranting, enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
BNSF Executive MAC on Union Pacific Tracks! ~ Shoutout to Young Railfan!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-24 | In early February 2024, there was a BNSF Executive MAC floating around the Bay Area. I finally was able to see it after missing it here in Davis on a couple round trips to Oakland and Roseville and back. So, I took Amtrak down to Oakland Jack London Square to see the MAC heading outbound on the IOANP. Of course, I saw other Amtrak trains that are included as well. It was a nice little outing! Shoutout to the young railfan Rafe that I met while railfanning! It's a great hobby so keep those videos going. Look for our picture in the beginning of the video. Nice meeting you, buddy! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Running the BNSF Q-MEMRIC6 from Bakersfield, CA to Fresno, CA - Run8 Train Simulator V3
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-23 | Another Thursday stream. This time I am running a BNSF Q train instead of Amtrak. A little switcheroo this evening. This is the Q-MEMRIC from Memphis, TN to Richmond, CA. We have a dash 9 leader this evening! Enjoy the stream!
NEW Amtrak California Siemens Venture Cars! ~ The Future is Here!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-23 | After many years of sitting and collecting dust in the ACE Stockton Facility, the new Siemens Venture cars are finally in revenue service as of December 21st, 2023! They did many test runs up and down the valley between Bakersfield, Sacramento, and Oakland. Back in 2019, the Venture cars made their very first appearance testing down to Fresno and back to Oakland. After that, they found numerous problems with them so they just put the cars in storage. Then, in the latter months of 2023, it was finally ready to be tested again. The first two clips of the video is the delivery train taking the cars from the ACE facility and deadheading to Oakland. The next clip is a P42 leader on the set! The NPCU cabbage car had PTC problems and wasn't able to lead so they slapped a good ol' Genesis in front of the cabbage. That train made a trip from Oakland to Bakersfield, up to Sacramento, back down to Bakersfield, and finally back to Oakland. Luckily I was able to catch the P42 leading in daylight as the other test trains ran mostly during the night. Then the rest of the video are just my catches of the new Venture set making its rounds on the Amtrak San Joaquins. It's pretty cool to see an old "F40" with the new, modern equipment. Until the Venture cab cars come... Anyways, I hope you enjoy this video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Railfanning Stockton Diamonds, CA! Calrailfans Meet 2023! ~ Union Pacific, BNSF, Amtrak, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-21 | Back in the end of October 2023, the Calrailfans group did their annual railfest meet at the Stockton Diamonds! It is such a fun event and I can't wait to return in May! There's tons of things up for sale such as model trains, signs, train horns, food, and more! Not to mention the awesome day of railfanning that comes free as well! There were lots of railfans out, as seen in some clips. I wonder what all the crews going through the area thought about all of us and a million cameras pointed at them...! We didn't see anything too special during the meet, just normal BNSF, UP, and Amtrak operations. Although UP 1089 leading the Stockton turn back south has an Ekyrail e-bell which is very odd to hear on a GeeP. Anyways, I hope you enjoy all the train action! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Amtrak Trains Along the California Coast!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-17 | Continuing with my Ventura 2022 videos. Lots of good horn shows in this compilation. Variety of Trains! ~ Feat. GECX, Warbonnet, Geo Train, Exec MAC, CSX, CN, CP, & MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-16 | I guess I forgot about this video from almost a year ago, so I'll upload it now. I was testing out a new external microphone I got for my camera so my apologies that some of the audio is pretty crappy in the beginning. It was not a good mic. Anyways, there some awesome trains in this video. There's an executive MAC and CSX duo, a BNSF geometry trains, an ex-BNSF GECX dash 9, warbonnet 777, lots of Canadian foreign power including a CN 100th anniversary unit, tons of nice crews, and more! I hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Summer Day Trains on Bakersfield Sub! ~ Feat. Exec MAC, CSX, Dash 8s, CN, FXE, Warbonnet, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-10 | Back in the summer of 2023, there were some awesome trains that travelled through California's central valley. A few of those goodies are featured in this video. The highlight of the video is a westbound manifest heading to Richmond with a CSX and BNSF executive MAC as rear DPUs. Also seen in the video is a westbound grain train with a Ferromex and warbonnet as well as still having mid-DPUs. Usually any type of DPU on the unit grain trains will get taken off in the Bakersfield Yard before continuing west but this one still had two mids! You will see the Y-BAK2071 job with two dash 8s do some switching as well. There are plenty more things to see so you'll just have to watch the video to find out! Enjoy! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311

Northwestern Pacific Railroad! ~ Feat. NWP 1501!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-08 | On a late November evening, I made my way up to Petaluma and Schellville to see the operations of the Northwestern Pacific railroad. I met up with @ScootsTrains and we had a blast that evening! We chased it from Petaluma back to their yard office in Schellville. It was cool to see the NWP 1501 running as the sole power for the train. It also a wonderful P3 horn and an awesome working gyralite! The guys who work this train are so friendly and welcoming to people taking pics of their train. Even though NWP is now owned by SMART, I'm glad that the classic NWP paint scheme lives on. I hope to return and see this train soon! Enjoy! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Railfanning in Modesto, CA! ~ Feat. Warbonnet, UP on BNSF, ALC42, CDTX 8306, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-02-03 | I took a day trip to the Modesto Amtrak station with @ScootsTrains! I started out, like usual, getting on Amtrak Capitol Corridor in Davis and heading to Martinez where I would then catch a San Joaquins to Modesto. While in Martinez, I got to see the Coast Starlight with two ALC42 locomotives pulling the train as well as an eastbound Capitol Corridor heading to Sacramento. We had an awesome day out in Modesto as we were greeted with a warbonnet and UP trailing on an eastbound BNSF manifest headed to Calwa yard in Fresno. We also saw lots of other BNSF trains flying through the station as well as your typical Amtrak trains. I then head back to Martinez and then back to Davis where I concluded my day. I hope you enjoy the video!

Of course, CDTX 8306 made an appearance and it is foamy as usual. Watch the California Zephyr for the angry face in the window... Enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311

CSRM - Polar Express Train 2023! ~ Feat. SP 6051, WP 913, & SSRR 2030!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-01-27 | Over the last couple moths of 2023, the Sacramento Southern railroad at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, CA ran their annual Polar Express train! I've always known about this train but never got the chance to see it as living in Bakersfield is a wee bit far from Sacramento. Now that I am in Davis, it is only a 15 minute train ride on Amtrak to go Sac. I went and saw this train run on numerous different occasions which brought together this awesome compilation of the operations of the Polar Express. This was definitely a must see as their power is an old SP E9 locomotive and a WP F7 locomotive. One of the times I was railfanning here, the WP 913 couldn't recover from PCS open so they had to swap it out for the trusty SSRR 2030. Thankfully, they fixed the issue later on and it was back to the SP and WP. The train runs from the old Sacramento depot in Old Town Sac out about eight miles to the "North Pole" where they would then turn back to Sac. With all that being said, I hope you enjoy this awesome video of this awesome train! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Trains in La Grange, Franklin Park, & Joliet, IL!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-01-25 | Finishing up my Chicago trip of 2021. In this video, I am railfanning in La Grange, followed by Franklin Park, followed by Joliet. I will have to say that Franklin Park was my favorite spot to railfan at during my trip. Lots of variety in Metra trains as well as lots of CP leaders which is not too common out here where I am from on the West Coast. It was also awesome to see a classic F40 with a great P5 horn. In Joliet, I saw a local go by with a nice Santa Fe caboose on the rear acting as a shoving platform. That was a cool treat to see. Enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Railfanning Seattle, WA! ~ Feat. BNSF OCS, SD75 Leaders, CSX, UP, Sounder, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2024-01-20 | During the summer of 2023, I journeyed out to the Pacific Northwest to visit some family. Of course I had to get in some railfanning time and I sure am glad I did. The first trains I saw was a 15 car BNSF officer car special. It was a nice treat for sure. I also saw my first couple SD75M leaders on the EVEROO-ROOEVE which was awesome. Later in the video, I set up camp above BNSF's Interbay/Balmer yard along the Seattle Sub. I saw a CSX DPU as well as a couple UP locomotives on a BNSF empty grain train. I also got to see some yard movements as well as an Amtrak Cascades, Empire Builder, and a Sounder train. I hope to return here again soon! Enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311

CentralValley Railfan8311 2023-12-30 | Back in the summer of 2023, a few friends from Southern California ventured up to my territory in Bakersfield to railfan. We were trackside all afternoon and into the evening and caught plenty of trains. We caught a executive MAC as well as a BNSF gevo leading with a K5LA! We also caught a dash 8 duo trailing on a manifest. There was also a NS DPU on a manifest and NS on a grain train that ended up getting the same executive MAC from earlier as power. Anyways, enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Trains Along the Coast! - Pacific Surfliner and Union Pacific in Ventura, CA!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2023-12-23 | If you know me, you know that I am a huge procrastinator when it comes to uploading videos on YouTube. Well these clips are from the summer of 2022 during my two week stay in Ventura, CA. It's always such a fun vacation coming here with the tracks on one side and the beach on the other. This is part one of the trains I caught during my visit. You will see lots of Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, Coast Starlight, and UP trains. I was lucky enough to be there while UP was running their PTC test train between Oxnard and San Luis Obispo. Also seen is AMTK 203 (operation Lifesaver) trailing on the Starlight. Hope you enjoy! Sacramento Southern Excursion Train! ~ SSRR 2030 Leads the Last of the Excursion Trains!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2023-06-17 | On June 3rd, 2023, my good friends Rogue Railfan, @ScootsTrains, and I met up in Old Town Sacramento to ride the Sacramento Southern Excursion Train down the Sacramento waterfront. This was one of the last days this train ran for the season as the California State Railroad Museum is going to be replacing about 1000 feet of track along the route the excursion train runs on. The contract to replace the track is for 115 days so after that is up, they should be back in business running the train! On this day, we had SSRR 2030 leading the five car train. It made four round trips with the EMD SW8 locomotive hard at work and blasting it's beautiful Nathan P3 horn. As seen in the video, I got a first class ticket for a trip on the train. I got to ride in the El Dorado car and it was awesome! We got complimentary beverages and snacks on the ride, too, which was a great perk! We also got to go stand on the observation deck on the rear of the El Dorado. It was so cool to be standing right above the coupler when the locomotive ran around the train and coupled on to the rear of the train to pull it back to Sacramento. After we got off the train in Sacramento, we stuck around for a little while longer to catch the rest of the trains leaving and returning at Sacramento. It was an amazing day and I will so be returning when they return service! Enjoy the video! Fun fact of the day: The SW8 was built in 1951 for the US Army. There were 15 locomotives built exactly like this one. Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311

Also seen, we have AMTK 160 (Pepsi Can) leading the westbound California Zephyr with some nice horn action. We also see a UP lite engine head up the east leg of the CFNR wye which it would then wye itself and back into its train, but we'll save those clips for another video. Anyways, enjoy the video! H1 Leaders and Santa Fe Warbonnet Leading! Feat. ~ BNSF 1000, BNSF 654, BNSF 968 ALL LEADING!!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2023-02-04 | Throughout this video, there is three (3) chases of H1 leaders and a Santa Fe warbonnet leading. The first chase is BNSF 1000 leading a manifest. I chased it from Edison to Woodford. It had a very terrible K3L, but it made the unit unique. Also note UP 1979 (ONE) at Bealville. The next chase is BNSF 654 leading another manifest. I chased this one from Corcoran down to Bakersfield. It was hard to keep up with this train because they fly down the valley but I managed... At Allensworth, I was very pleased to have been given a lovely horn spam in the crossing sequence!! I caught up to it just in time to pace along the highway and got it going through two (2) crossings. Lastly, BNSF 968 leads another manifest. I chased this one from Bakersfield to Bena, where I had to make a quick turnaround and get back into town. This was my first H1 leader in October 2021. I have gotten plenty more since! Anyways, I hope you enjoy these classic leaders. Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Railfanning Naperville, IL! Feat. ~ Metra, CSX, NS, BNSF, Amtrak, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2023-01-28 | During the summer of 2021, my dad and I set out on a trip to Illinois! It wasn't really supposed to be a railfanning vacation... but... Anyways, in this video, we have all sorts of trains in Naperville, IL which is along the "BNSF Racetrack." It is at the westernmost end of the line near Aurora. Apparently going across the country doesn't get me away from BNSF. In this video, you will see plenty of BNSF trains, Metra, an Amtrak, plus some foreign power, and hornshows! Railfanning Bakersfield! ~ Feat. The Local, RS3L, RS3K, Dash 8s, H1s, Horn Galore!!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-12-31 | Finally, a video that includes the one and only local, Y-BAK208. This is a very nifty train as the power for the train is old B40-8W's who both have their original Leslie horns. BNSF 508 has a dandy RS3L and BNSF 517 has a mighty RS3K. Besides that, this video includes lots of horn shows, H1s, Dash 8s, Amtrak, BNSF, and more!! So enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Surfliner, Coaster, and BNSF! Railfanning SoCal!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-12-24 | Let's take a trip down to SoCal, more specifically northern San Diego County. Today we see Pacific Surfliner, Coaster, and BNSF trains in various locations such as Carlsbad Poinsettia, the Village, and Oceanside. It was your generic day on the Surfline with a nice northbound daylight SDGBAR. Also caught the Del Mar Block on one of the northbound Surfliners; who knows the train number!? Enjoy the video! Railfanning Davis! Feat ~ The One and Only 8311, CN Leader, T4 Leader, Angry Engineer, and MORE
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-12-17 | With my recent move up to Davis, CA, I have been out railfanning probably way too much than I should be. But that's what foamers do, right?! Anyways, I've got a whole Davis folder with all my clips, as well as clips from Bakersfield and Tehachapi like always. Plus some special catches and chases from back home. Be on the lookout! In this video, there are some real treats. I saved the best for last, of course, so you'll have to watch to the end to figure out what it is!! On top of that, we have the lovely CDTX 8311 blowing my ears out which was awesome. We also have the WB Zephyr pulling into Davis with a rather angry engineer, if you will. Then we have a UP T4 leading the IOANP blowing it's stellar K5LA. Enough rambling, enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
Lots of Trains in Cajon Pass! Feat ~ Santa Fe, Horn Shows, and MORE
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-12-10 | My good friend @PasadenaSubColin wanted to take me around Cajon Pass so we did just that! Starting out with some of his secret spots, moving on towards Mormon Rocks, Summit, and elsewhere. There was a race between a BNSF and UP at Summit (20:52). At Swarthout, you can really hear the UP ACe screaming at train at 25:01 as well as a very interesting BNSF horn at 29:45. It was a fabulous day with lots of action, very nice crews, cool power, and meeting up with good friends! Enjoy the video! FRA Train, CSX YN2, Ferromex, Horn Shows Galore, and MORE from Bakersfield, CA!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-12-03 | In this video from Bakersfield, we have lots of goodies. We have a FRA train, CSX YN2, warbonnet, and lots of shave and a haircut horn shows! The first clip is one of my favorites; such a unique shot with the two Amtrak's meeting. Luckily, both trains had F59's so that made it even better. Plus both engineers gave me some horn as well! Enjoy the video! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
EMD SD9 Lives On! ~ Feat. SD9 Leader, Coil Train, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-10-08 | Back in July, I set out to Guernsey, CA, a grain industry in CA's central valley, to see the beautiful SD9 take charge of the switching action. There is also an old Santa Fe engine that works here too, but it wasn't out this day. After spending some time with the SD9 and at Guernsey, I moved up to the siding Shirley, which is just north of the Hanford Amtrak station. I have been wanting to hit up this spot for a while and I finally took advantage of the time I had to do so. It lies on a few curves and it is nice and tree-y. I saw a few trains there with lots of nice and crews, action, and power throughout the day. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching! 👍🏼 ©️ All rights reserved to Central Valley Railfan 8311
BNSF 6017 (Sticker Unit) Leads a Heavy Manifest Train! ~ Feat. KCS, K5HLA horn, H1 Duo, and MORE!
CentralValley Railfan8311 2022-08-05 | BNSF 6017 lead the H-BARPAS9 back in March so I set out to chase it up the valley a bit. This locomotive has a different horn than normal. It has a Nathan K5HLA. This one is a bit fouled which makes it sound even more different. I caught it here in Bakersfield and then made my way up to Corcoran while stopping on the way. I saw a few other trains along the way which include more freight trains and some Amtrak. This was a fun chase up to Corcoran so I hope you enjoy it!
