Red Dwarf USA (Pilot #2, 1992) Vances Media Treasures 2024-02-03 | Special thanks to @waymu-vhs for helping me out with the upscaling of this!In 1992, NBC and Universal Television set out to produce an American version of the hit BBC britcom "Red Dwarf", which by that time, was popular with American audiences with airings on PBS. This American version of the series would've featured a mostly new cast, save for Robert Llewellyn, who would reprise his role as Kryten. There would be two pilots made, this was the second one produced. This pilot was more of a "highlight reel", as well as keeping some of the cast from the first pilot while featuring new actors, mainly Rimmer as well as Cat, who in this pilot, is a female. Some clips from the British version were shown here, but unfortunately, the BBC originally took this video down because of it, so I had to edit them out. While this pilot has been on YouTube in several formats, the other versions were sourced from older encodes from the early-2000s. This particular version of the first pilot is a workprint, as well as an early version as there would be some scenes in the revised edit that was either added on or deleted. Notably, this version features the intro of the first two series of the British version. The background music is also missing from this version. While this pilot has been on YouTube in several formats, the other versions were sourced from older encodes from the early-2000s with added noise reduction. For this particular edit, the existing versions feature music from the British version at the beginning. And somebody was lucky enough to tape the entire thing! So if you do that kind of stuff, roll up a joint (preferably with some Labrador, that’s dog shit!), and even if you don’t, enjoy, man! Vault Disney promos from September 2, 2002 Vances Media Treasures 2023-04-19 | As a finale for today's little shindig of Disney Channel promos, it's fitting to post stuff from one of my two tapes of the last days of one of DC's blocks: Vault Disney. From September 1-9, the majority of VD's programming were replaced with a marathon of the entirity of the classic Disney series Zorro. This resulted in a very strange experience. Vault Disney bumpers with Cam "Buzz" Brainhard, Zoog-era menus for Zorro, promos for ABC Kids coexisting with older material like DTV music videos from the mid-1980s, it's very strange.Also included at the end is the first few minutes of a special titled "Learning for Life: Kids & Learning Differences". I would have uploaded this separately, but I opted not to since it's barely under two minutes. Hope you all enjoyed the Disney Channel promos! Now I'm going to sleep.

Mouseterpiece Theater: Crazy Over Daisy, Gulliver Mickey, The Big Wash host segments (1983) Vances Media Treasures 2023-04-18 | And now for a non-break treat, and one that features one of the original programs that launched with The Disney Channel in 1983: an episode of the obscure Mouseterpiece Theater!George Plimpton presents an in-depth commentary on three classic Disney shorts: “Crazy Over Daisy”, “Gulliver Mickey”, and “The Big Wash”. The hosting segments, from this very airing in fact, have been uploaded online, however this is a slight quality upgrade and besides, this is a pretty rare show and probably will never be brought to Disney+, so might as well!As shown from a April 12, 1992 repeat.

This is a copy of a VIZ Video release of the show, just in multiple generations. After the proper closing, it goes to a few seconds of some random documentary (?), and then to a few minutes of another episode of the show, the latter has been trimmed down.
