MiniminutemanIn this video we take a dive into the mysterious archaeological site known as the Cerutti Mastodon. This site in Southern California dates back a shocking 130,000 years, nearly 100,000 years older than the next oldest evidence of human habitation of the Americas. By this point there is no archaeological evidence that Homo Sapiens had migrated out of Africa yet. Is it possible that Homo Sapiens were not the first human to make it across the Bering Land Bridge and into the lush forests of Pleistocene North America? Come along as we explore the intricacies of one of the most hotly debated archaeological sites in the country and the site of the mysterious Cerutti mastadon.

Just a few months after my initial series debunking TikToker Filip Zieba's conspiracy theories about archaeology and history, it's time to tackle the response video made by the man himself. You may be wondering how Fil managed to make a response to my video essay on him. Does he do more research than I did? Dive farther into the rabbit hole of ancient mysteries to support his points? No. Of course not. Instead this video is a half baked, mostly dismissive character defense. So join me as we dive head first into the Wonderland of Filip Zieba.

We will be exploring the ancient civilizations that once called this land home as well as the biodiversity it once housed. I have spoken a lot about every pseudoarchaeological and fringe theory under the sun. But rarely have I talked about the implications and dangers of pseudoscience as a whole. How pseudoarchaeology is one of many routes into a dangerous anti-intellectualism pipeline. This video is on just that topic. A live lecture that I did at Virginia Tech back in March discussing the dangers of pseudo archaeology and how it is promoted by an algorithm that is (un)intentionally radicalizing viewers. Id like to give a huge thank you to Virginia Tech for hosting me for this lecture, and I hope you all enjoy.
VIDEO INFO: Howdy friends! In this video I meet up with two young paleontologists, Dean and Zach, who share with me their expertise as we dig through the fossil beds of the Mahatango formation of Eastern Pennsylvania. I have my eyes set on finding a pyritized fossil or golden fossil. Ancient remains who have been replaced with iron pyrite or fools gold. While this beds pyrite appears more iron-y or white, I am still on the hunt for a crown jewel for my collection. Join me as we learn about the past from two fellow science communicators and dig up our fair share of ancient marine life.

An ancient "set" of human remain(s) discovered in the late 1910s by a man named Harold Cook. Cook was convinced that the artifact that he had found was evidence of a lost species of great ape, and potentially a human ancestor, native to North America. Join me as we explore the splash that this discovery caused and explore how science can sometimes be just as dogmatic as the world of pseudoscience

In this video we dive into the icy waters of the mysterious Roopkund lake. Known by more common, and grim, names such as Skeleton Lake, Mystery Lake and The Lake of Bones, Roopkund lake holds a grotesque archaeological mystery that has been the source of debate for years. The remote pass is home to the skeletons of some 500 individuals. Many theories have been posed about what happened to these unfortunate travelers and why their remains now lay scattered around this lake like an enormous crime scene. Today we are going to dive into the theories surrounding this lake, the studies that have been conducted on it and recent discoveries that prove that the truth is much stranger than fiction. All this in an effort to answer the simple question: what happened at Roopkund Lake.
