The Rock-afire Explosion - Fun Songs Skit (1984) Mango Pictures 2024-02-19 | Apologies for the incomplete and poor quality video. I'm on a bit of a Rockafire kick, so here's my personal favorite skit in the history of the band. This is one of very few times where Rolfe shows that he is not as pompous as he seems, but rather overcompensates to make himself appear important. This little showing of Rolfe seemingly admitting his faults is what made me fall in love with the character and shows that the Rockafire characters are far more than just "pizzeria robots". It's this sort of touch of humanity that is why after nearly ten years of discovering the Rockafire, Rolfe is still my all time favorite fictional character. The Eggs - Didnt Have A Very Good Time (45 RPM Single) [1983] Mango Pictures 2023-08-13 | My boyfriend found this "gem" at a record store in Michigan. A brief google search revealed the discogs page which says this madness was created by a man named David Thomas. This was apparently included as a bonus record with a live album by "David Thomas & His Legs", (this bonus track is attributed to a group called "The Eggs") but was originally recorded for an album by "David Thomas & The Pedestrians". Besides the obvious fact that the music included on this record is arguably worse than that of "The Shaggs" is the bizarreness that it is pressed on single sided clear vinyl, complete with a zoetrope animation border. Even stranger is that it's fairly common, going for only a couple of bucks on discogs, (my boyfriend paid 10$ at the record store).For the amusement of the internet, I have "remastered" this insanity for you. I know it sounds kinda crunchy, the record was filthy when bought, but was cleaned twice. A bit of EQ adjustment later and this was the result.
