UNCOMPRESSED Live at Sónar Festival, 2022 - Cuckoo, Hainbach, Lookmumnocomputer True Cuckoo 2022-11-25 | Hello, in the summer 2022 I had the great pleasure to take part in a wonderful collab with @LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER and @Hainbach for a project we called Uncompressed. Backed by wonderful Patreon, we got to perform at the Sónar Festival in Barcelona. So we met up in Barcelona one week before the show, and started rehearsing. And when I say rehearsing, I mean improvising together. For this is a show where everything is 100% improvised. Things might go terribly wrong, meh, or well. By the end of the week we decided on a form for the performance, like 1. Hainbach starts with a solo. 2. Cuckoo joins in with the piano, and end in a specific key that will lead to 3. Lookmumnocomputer joins in in said key, and we build up… and so forth. All in all, I think it was an absolutely WONDERFUL experience. And working with both Hainbach and Lookmumnocomputer was an absolute treat. I have had this video shared for our Patrons only, up until today where we decided it's time to share it with the world. I avoided dedicated mic preamps much because they are typically big and bulky. Many cheaper preamps are not designed for dynamic microphones and often get noisy. iPhone 14 pro colours - What they actually look like in person True Cuckoo 2022-09-17 | I normally make creative synth and drum machine videos. This is off topic in terms of my regular content. But I was in it for a new phone, and I found all the colours of the new iPhone 14 pro super boring in the presentation, the product photos, and other videos. SO I went to the local Apple store and had to see them for myself. And surprisingly I liked them all. Even the purple one, that I dreaded the most, and thought looked like a serious blunder in the product photos.I don't make this kind of review content, but felt like I wanted to share my experience of the colours nonetheless.Have a nice day!

Oberheim OB-X8 - is raw purity enough? True Cuckoo 2022-05-25 | Oberheim has released a new synth with the helping hand of Sequential. It's a purist analog approach to the legacy of Oberheim. But is that enough in this day and age? Now that we're so used to advanced modulation matrixes and digital effects, and many synthesis methods on board etc? I think this appeals to a certain purist demographic. And for them it'll surely sound very much like that certain legendary sound that you might remember from a lot of productions. But for me, this is not a nostalgic experience at all. My personal nostalgia lies elsewhere. So I'm immune to any form of nostalgic reaction this might conjure. I'm experiencing this from the start. And even if I appreciate the pure balanced tone, I personally think it's a little bare minimum when it comes to functionality. How do you feel about it?
