Bad Drivers of Montana At around 7:13pm on Monday, July 7th, 2025, an accident involving a white 2011-12 Honda Accord and a gray 2017-18 Ford Fusion occurred at the intersection of N 27th St. and 7th Ave N in Billings, MT. The Accord exited the Albertsons parking lot heading north in the outside lane while the Fusion continued north in the inside lane from the intersection of 6th Ave N. The Accord then attempted a left turn or u-turn from the outside lane, without a turn signal, and broadsided the Fusion. The collision ripped the front bumper off the Accord, lodging it in the front passenger wheel well. The Fusion continued up the road before pulling into the KFC parking lot. The Accord initially followed, but sped off further down N 27th St once the Fusion turned. The Accord appeared to have trouble maintaining control and quickly turned east onto 9th Ave N. A call was made to the local non-emergency line after the camera driver had returned home and footage was offered to the authorities. The offender's license plate was unable to be determined from the footage.

07/15/2025 Accident in Billings, MT

Bad Drivers of Montana 2025-07-18 | On Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, at around 3:38pm, a blue 1997-2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue was traveling north on 30th St West in west Billings, MT, when the driver failed to stop at the Grand Ave intersection. The driver narrowly avoided t-boning a grey 2010-18 Volkswagen Jetta that was turning south onto 30th St West and being t-boned by a silver 2017-19 GMC Acadia that was traveling west on Grand Ave, before finally rear-ending a 2017-21 Chevrolet Traverse that had just turned north into the West Grand Plaza. A few seconds later, the Intrigue driver again bumped into the back of the Traverse before slowly rolling onto a grass median, through a two-way stop, and coming to rest against a light pole. Police and EMS were dispatched, with the driver of the Intrigue being treated on-scene in an ambulance. The Traverse occupants were checked out by EMS. Both camera angles were provided to the responding officer as well as the driver of the Traverse.

Very Minor Bump - 11/09/2024

Bad Drivers of Montana 2024-11-10 | Very small bump in stop and go traffic. Didn't appear to leave any new damage, my 8 year old Hyundai is banged up as-is. Didn't talk to the other driver, continued on my way to Target. Happened at La Cienega Blvd and Corbett St, Los Angeles.

01/15/2024 Challenger Accident(?) Hoover and 30th St

Bad Drivers of Montana 2024-01-15 | Time and date is correct. Black Challenger blows red light heading east on 30th St, and has what appears to be a tire blowout (or more likely the entire suspension assembly failure?) leaving debris and a smoking brake caliper in the intersection. The Nissan Altima stopped at the light somehow moved out of the way in time and no other vehicles were hit.

Challenger continued for a couple blocks, running a stop sign/pedestrian crossing directly in front of University Park police, before stopping on the side of road. I had to drop off a friend, then turned around to see if the video was needed by the officers. The windows were too tinted when I drove past to see if anyone was inside. Outcome unknown.

10/6/2023 Minor Rear End Accident

Bad Drivers of Montana 2023-10-07 | Happened at the intersection of Technology Dr and Barranca Parkway in Irvine, CA on October 6, 2023 at 12:37pm. Honda CR-V heading eastbound on Barranca Pkwy attempted to turn right on red, but stopped as my traffic light (southbound) had just turned green. Toyota Rav-4 following the CR-V did not anticipate the stop and tapped their rear bumper. As I drove past (and finally noticed the accident) the CR-V passenger was getting out. I did not return to offer the video as I wasn't sure if I had caught it. Both parties pulled into the Costco parking lot on the right after I passed them.

05/24/23 Crash Grand Ave. and 17th St. W

Bad Drivers of Montana 2023-05-25 | Accident involving an older-model (what looks to be) Ford pickup performs an illegal U-turn across solid center lines at a red light, nearly hitting a white Rogue on the right before being struck by an oncoming sedan (unknown make and model) which had the right-of-way. Unknown outcome as I was not the driver (witnessed by family member). They did both pull off into a parking lot shortly after, though. Happened around 9:00pm

On a separate note, could anyone help me figure out why my Viofo A119 is has poor image quality/focus despite being set to a reasonable quality and frame rate? I know it can't just be the lighting. Any help would be appreciated! Using a 64gb microSD formatted and set to 2560 x 1440 (or the closest to those numbers, can't remember at the moment) at 30fps

04/29/23 Minor Accident S. Figueroa and 18th

Bad Drivers of Montana 2023-05-01 | Minor accident between a blue Toyota Corolla and black Chevrolet Malibu. Happened around 1:06pm Saturday, April 30th, at the intersection of South Figueroa Street and 18th Street. No injuries, minor damage. Stopped and gave my information to both drivers and emailed the video file later in the day.

Bad Drivers of Montana 2020-09-20 | School bus driver (with kids onboard) fails to yeild to me and another driver at a roundabout. I saw him not slowing down coming from behind the Nissan Pathfinderand began to slow down as I assumed he was going to go right and would just move into my lane a little. However, he just went straight through without a care in the world, not cutting just me off, but another driver right next to me. Driving a 5600 lb SUV made braking a little less graceful than normal and I had to steer to the left to ensure I wasn't hit by the side of the bus. A failure on this bus driver's part to be a safe, responsible driver while taking kids from school. Happened 9/18/2020 but at about 3:30 pm, not 9:23 like the timestamp says, in Billings, MT, at the Shiloh and Grand Ave roundabout heading east

Bad Drivers of Montana 2020-04-01 | Snowy conditions led to icy roads. Lady behind camera vehicle (driven by my mother) was unable to stop, either due to excessive speed, lack of attention, or simply loss of traction due to poor judgement. In any case no one was hurt, relatively minor damage to our vehicle (2016 GMC Yukon) while the other driver's vehicle (2013 Subaru Forester) was rather significantly damaged. Still drive-able. Police weren't called and when I called her insurance later they said she had already called and admitted fault.

King Ave Crash 2/23/2020

Bad Drivers of Montana 2020-03-06 | I am expecting to get a lot of blowback from this. Yes, I have learnt my lesson. Police cited the Corvette driver for an unsafe lane change after reviewing this footage. Insurance (both have the same carrier) ruled 50-50, and I wholeheartedly accept that. I madea dumb decision and should have just let him go on ahead of me. Please keep name calling and insulting to a minimum, I've heard it enough from family and friends. Occurred Feb 23,2020 at around 9:48 (timestamp is correct). Estimated to be around $4,200 for repairs to my vehicle. Not sure about the Corvette, but he was leaking brake fluid and had to be towed. I actually know the guy through a former coworker. He was pretty calm through everything. I have major respect for him for being so polite and courteous throughout everything. I'm sorry this whole situation happened.

I intentionally moved to get in front of her so as to prevent her from continuing but got scared and stopped as it didn't look like she would stop. First Serious Accident (not on video)

Bad Drivers of Montana 2018-11-01 | It's been 14 months since my father witnessed a major accident. We haven't felt comfortable uploading this, but seeing as the accident was over a year ago, no one was killed, and that a valuable lesson can be learned, we decided it was time to post. Apologies for the very bad camera quality (It's a $70 Kobra from Costco. Only had it for 3 months before it went all crappy with the video and audio). Understand that we do not wish to capitalize on this, but instead want to emphasize the importance of being aware of your surroundings and anticipating that everyone else isn't paying attention. I did not get the names of those invovled. The only information I gathered further was from a news report on the accident that incorrectly stated that three children were involved. Only was was involved, and he was in the van. The van was also heading northbound, not southbound, when the accident occurred. I Hit a Deer

Bad Drivers of Montana 2018-04-09 | I will be the first to say that I was going too fast. I take resposibility for my actions and, had I driven slower, I may have avoided this. With that being said, I was driving to school early morning on April 9th when I ran into a small deer. It was alive as I dragged it out of the road and set it on the embankment, but as I drove back home later today for lunch, it was dead. I killed an animal and I feel pretty bad about it. No damage to my truck, I had a grill guard.

Bad Drivers of Montana 2018-03-05 | Driving back from a gymnastics meet on the back end of a snowstorm. The SUV driver braked for the car in front of them, drifted to the right, and spun out into the median. On a slightly unrelated note, my Kobra dash cam (I have two, one in my truck, one in this GMC) are terrible. I bought them from Costco before moving from California to record my three day trip, and this camera has been completely ruined. The quality in both the audio and video is markedly worse than the one in my truck, and the one in my truck doesn't save the settings I input after I park. Any suggestions on a new camera?
