#totkIn Defense of Dark Souls Second HalfHPRshredder2023-04-21 | Just sharing some thoughts on the so-called "second half" of Dark Souls. Footage for this video was shot on-location in Lordran.
I have a lot of thoughts about this game, and even more about this topic as well. I wanted to keep things brief though. Part of the reason I love Dark Souls 1 so much is because you can't warp between bonfires from the beginning. It just places you in the world and makes you feel like a part of it. Once you can warp; the game folds back in on itself less and starts to sprawl more. It is what it is. I just really love the game.
For fans of my regular type of content I hope you still enjoy this one! More Retro Odyssey content and more is just around the corner.
Thanks for watching.

An IN-DEPTH review, analysis, and retrospective of Dragon Buster (ドラゴン バスター) for the Nintendo Famicom – an arcade dungeon-crawler ported by Namco in 1987 under their alternative publishing game Namcot. The game is a bit jarring at first but after familiarizing myself with the controls and concepts I actually found it to be a lot of fun.

An IN-DEPTH review, analysis, and retrospective of Hi no Tori Hououhen: Gaou no Bouken for the Nintendo Famicom – with additional looks at the 1986 OVA for Phoenix as well as a look at Osamu Tezuka's 1969 Manga; the fifth volume of the Phoenix series known as the "Karma" chapter.
This is an exhaustive look at a game that most people haven't even heard of. It's a game that in a lot of ways could be viewed as a "NES Minecraft" with the way it lets you build and destroy blocks at will.
This is also a look at the Manga and Anime behind the licensing for this adventure as well as a look into differences in eastern and western though when it comes to concepts of karma and reincarnation.
I really hope you all enjoy this one. It took a lot out of me.
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

An IN-DEPTH review, analysis, and retrospective of Layla for the Famicom.
This is an exhaustive look at a game that is pretty much never discussed and mostly forgotten. In this video I'll cover everything in the game, the structure of the game, my personal experience, and how I feel it stacks up to its contemporaries from the context of a first-time player who didn't grow up with an NES.
This one was tough, because the game itself is much too expensive for what you get, and it was so mediocre that honestly I struggled to put the required amount of effort into the editing. However, I did end up completing it and I really hope you enjoy it! 💗

I put way more into this review / retrospective / whatever you want to call it than I probably should have -- but most of the reviews only seem to cover the fist world or two. There really wasn't anything covering everything that the game has to offer, so I felt compelled to go over it all.

Also, a defense of Metroid. This game gets a lot of flack these days. So here is my take, my experience, my response, and my recommendation - all wrapped up into one!
Hope you enjoy, this one felt like it took a lifetime to edit & shoot. Had to spend an extra two hundred on a new SSD because I was legitimately running out of space on my existing 3 making this.
