KYLE.ENGINEERSToday we are going though the mechanics of the concept of mode decoupled suspension, a type of racecar suspension that allows us to isolate and tune heave, pitch, roll and warp separately of each other. This allows us to make the warp mode completely unsprung, maximising mechanical grip, as well as allowing us to tune our suspension exactly how we want it.

While there have been many complex theories thrown around about how it works, the reality is much more simple.

They have essentially created a large downwashing wing with a shroud around the side impact structure, and then have inverted the sidepod inlet and put it towards the floor. This seems to be in an attempt to get more downwash and stronger vortices from the top of the sidepod, but the legalities are certainly interesting!

Thanks for your patience everyone. Racecar Aerodynamics: The Definitive Course by JKF Aero is my first foray into making a fully formed aerodynamics course, and covers everything from the fundamentals of aerodynamics through to how aero devices behave on a car, and how this all pans out on track. Launching August 1st, with a launch price of 695USD for the first two weeks, then 995USD from that point onwards.
I had some additional numbers analysis on the lateral Gs they claimed that lined up well with my calculated aero numbers, but there were too many unknown variables to be 100% certain, so I removed it.
