BREVARD COUNTY, Florida - A suspected #tornado tore through Melbourne, Florida's northern side Thursday evening, just north of the Melbourne Orlando International Airport, causing minor to moderate damage to several homes. Shortly before 6 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the city which mentioned the possibility of a tornado.
Florida Power and Light, the electricity provider in the neighborhood, was on scene and repairing damage to power poles in the area. FPL was reporting just shy of 500 customers without power as of 8:30 p.m. EDT.
There was no official comment from the NWS as of this posting.
Orine Robinson, a resident in the neighborhood impacted, saw the tornado coming moments before it hit her hours.
"So my granddaughter and I were sitting out on the carport and we saw, she said, nanny, look at that. What is that? And it was a great big palm flying through the air between these two houses. And then it started this circular motion. A tornado came straight down our street. So we ran in the house and we're safe. But unfortunately, our neighbors got a lot of damage, and it's hard to see it. But we're Floridians and we always come together."

On June 22nd, the Slide Ranch/Mission Road Fire started outside White Swan, Washington. The fire rapidly burned approximately 3,200 acres of grass and some shrubbery and trees. On June 23rd, the fire was largely in mop-up, but the area was accessible. All the shots in the video are taken on roads around the burned area. The fire was only smoldering by this time. Shots include burned out cars, downed (and smoldering) power poles, and many shots of burned vegetation. Winds were still strong (25-35 mph gusts) during filming, likely the reason that some fire crews were still present despite the fire smoldering. For location reference, White Swan is about 20 miles SW of Yakima, WA, and about 115 miles SE of Seattle, on the eastern slopes of the Cascades.

SPENCER, Iowa - The southern side of Spencer, Iowa in particular is being devastated by the flooding off of the Little Sioux River. With water levels rising dramatically - many are saying this flood rivals or beats the flooding of 1993 that crippled the region. There is no way to cross the river in the area without driving approximately 90 miles. Emergency services are staged on both sides of town. Hospital on the north side with a fire truck and ambulance staged on the south side. Emergency services also being provided by boat as residents are still stranded. It’s unknown if the river has actually crested as the gauge has been having issues.

A prolific supercell with associated wall cloud and funnel clouds made its way over Eastern Iowa on Saturday, June 22, 2024. It developed just to the east of I35 near Iowa Falls and made its way all the way across eastern Iowa over the next few hours. It was tornado warned numerous times and was a very discreet cell in an area with a high SigTor environment. You can also see in the first few seconds at the start of the video time lapse a possible tornadic circulation with dusty debris. It was not confirmed, but does look awful suspicious. You can also see an elongated elephant trunk funnel cloud extending off of the left side of the wall cloud. The meso became occluded as rain was wrapping around he circulation and you can see it go outflow dominant with a roll cloud at the end of the time lapse, but this cell kept producing rotations all the way into Wisconsin. The video was sped up 16X and looped twice.
