Bee R. (Bee-chan)
Pickup truck almost runs me off the road - Bartow, FL, June 26, 2026.
updated
Aaaaand I had to give a nod to my love for the Archie webcomic on Webtoons, called, “Big Ethel Energy”. Do I now have a thing for that sweet himbo, Moose? Yes… yes, I do. BUT CAN YOU BLAME ME?! Sweet adult man, BIG ole heart, works for Riverdale High as a coach, loves Ethel with all his heart (she does NOT deserve him in any way, shape, or form…she’s getting as bad as Ronnie was back in high school, maybe worse! Xx).
Doooouble aaaand… got in a little old school hand lettering practice, minus the use of my old Aimes guide. But you CAN lay down a grid guide to act as a make shift Aimes guide. Use the Monoline brush in Procreate under Inking, it’s the closest I’ve come to a B4 or B5 nib.
Yes… yes, he is. 😍💜😈
Decided to give him a slightly cooler tone, as he tends to be more in the warmer tones in the comics. Kinda balance things out visually, while still hinting at his personality.
Done entirely in Procreate.
Elfquest and Bearclaw belong to the EVER awesome Wendy and Richard Pini of Warp!

This person in the red minivan decides that it's okay to NOT make sure that it's safe to make a left hand turn. It's NOT a four way stop intersection, the side roads MUST stop and wait until it's safe to go. But FAR too many people tend to not pay attention around here. I'm surprised that there aren't more accidents on this street!
Thankfully I learned when I moved down here to ALWAYS pay attention to those coming off the side roads, and thoroughly stick to the speed limit. Because THIS. Because if I hadn't been paying attention, I could have easily t-boned them.
THIS is why I encourage that everyone get a dashcam.
I was leaving work for the evening when I wittnessed this first hand. This couple is here every single day, nice people, just asking for some help (homelessness is a BIG big big problem here, sadly). She was just trying to cross the street, safely, in the crosswalk, and YES, I had a red light, the opposing traffic had a green light with a green turn arrow, so either way, she SHOULD have been safe to cross.
AAAAND you DO have to stop for people in the crosswalk! That IS the law! Period!
But this dude thought they were above the law, and that they were better than her. So potentially running her over didn't matter in their mind.
Yes, I will be showing the dashcam footage to the police.
And for those asking, YES, I was hands free with my phone call. One ear bud in, on low, and I started the call before I even put the car in drive in the parking lot. Phone stays in my bag.
GET A DASHCAM!

On route 60, from Mulberry to Bartow, Thor was having a MASSIVE rave in the sky, and YEP, I was in absolute awe. This was a crazy beautiful show of the force of nature. Owo

We have quite a few pages we can work on, but I decided to start by collabing on a page with Marlys, whom has the sketchbook last before me. Go give their Insta a look-see! NOW! Their watercolors are so incredibly PRETTY!

Anyway, the prompt she set for this page was Spectrum. It can be taken any way, I guess, so my bee brain went with feathers? Done in #Prismacolor and #Copic markers and gel pens. Because that's what I have out right now.

Doing this one entirely in Procreate instead of ArtRage this time. We’re still in the process of moving, so the risk of having to break down the rest of the studio corner to move to the new home is SUPER high. Just easier to do it all on the ipad for now.

Yes, there will be two versions of the finished piece. YOU all will be able to see the SAFE FOR WORK version eventually. The NSFW version? Welp, THAT will be going on my Patreon, once I get that going.
And for those wondering, YES, nude FOR THE MOMENT. You have to get the pose and anatomy down FIRST before worrying about clothing!

Only just now discovered the glory that is the editable perspective tool guide, complete with horizon line. No need pull my hair out with TONS of ruler stencils.
HEY, I'm learning as I go. I don't think the previous version I owned (ArtRage 3) had this!
This shows how I paint curly hair in ArtRage, which CAN be done in other art programs as well. If you would like me to create a normal paced tutorial on how to paint curly hair, feel free to leave a comment below!

Caiomhe is one of many characters in my up and coming story, "Revelation Aft", a story I've been working on and off for several years now, but have only know felt the kick in the booty to take working on it SERIOUSLY, in the ways that work for me. A HUGE part of that booty kick has been in thanks to everyone on the Tingles and Dragons crew, my friends in the ASMR community, and the AMAZING story writers and artists I've been meeting online over the years. You all have become HUGE inspirations to me. Thank you so much! I love you guys!
Caiomhe is the second oldest amongst the siblings of Scáth / Hikage, a kind girl with a love for animals, but has no magical abilities like her eldest sister Eimear, younger brother Scáth, and loving mother (name to come soon... I have a LOT of characters to work on, and she's a new one). But this doesn't stop her, as she desires to become a healer of animals... a vet.
Done completely in ArtRage 3.

Yes, I HAVE finally graduated up to the newest version of ArtRage, version 6, but I have to sit down and start playing with it more. It's a big jump from 3 to 6, but I do dig it so far!

The story behind the creation of this cybernetic wolf / fox hybrid (I believe the furry community calls them a folf? Please correct me if I'm wrong!) touched my heart, and I knew I had to take on the project.
Just the initial rough sketch in my sketchbook for now, but stay tuned for the tight pencils and inks!

All done in my sketchbook, with pencils varying in different darkness, and an old but still usable blending stick.

I left the layer texturing on this time for the inking stages.
I love that ArtRage Studio has layer texturing, as it acts kind of like a canvas or paper texture. Eventually, I'll upgrade to the latest version of ArtRage, but for now, version 3 is good.

I've been wanting to update Bee's look for a LONG time now, as I myself have changed a touch as I've grown older.
I'm still quite eclectic. Still stressed as fark, BUT am getting the anxiety under some kind of control. Discovered my sexuality in the past year (grey asexual, if you must know. It answers a LOT of questions for me.).
Took a three year hiatus which caused me to remember just how much I really DO love to create ART. That not much else in life makes me happy or satisfies me like creating does.
And yeah, since she is a take on ME, sheeee’s now a fan of various story based asmr artists, sooo… hence why she is wearing a Cardlin Audio shirt here.
I've figured how to get XSplit to record the layered menus in ArtRage Studio 3, so you all finally can see what I do when I work. And learned how to import png's into video layers in Shotcut so I can gradually make my videos more eye catching. No more simple text layers, we are going to have FUN with this!
To see the full finished tight pencils, check it out here on my DA page!

All done! This took just tooooo long to do. Had to kind of re-teach myself how to use Photoshop and ArtRage Studio, as I had that almost four year forced hiatus from PROPERLY creating anything.
Painting in ArtRage Studio, with the background in Photoshop CS3. Original lineart done on 10 x 15 inch bristol board, with various colored Prismacolor inking brush markers.

The screen recorder on my iPhone stopped recording after the third video after the 35 minute mark, so I’m missing about 10 more minutes of footage, which would have been about an extra minute or so to THIS sped up video. Oh well, it got the majority at least.
Still all done in Adobe Sketch on my iPhone 6s.
Took the original sketch I did in my sketchbook of Donatello to the nearest Staples Copy Center, got a copy made, artist taped the copy to the back of a sheet of vellum surface bristol paper, and lightboxed the tight pencils to said bristol paper. Next step, once my sprain finger is fully healed, busting out the brush and india ink to ink him.
And yes, I DID bork my right pointer finger up. Sprained it pretty good at work. I can write, and work on not too detailed work, but given the way I hold my inking brush, inking is going to have to wait a bit.
It’s a good chance to be able to perform a flip test, too. If you can flip / mirror your artwork, and nothing looks warped / incorrect, then you’re good to go. I’m pretty proud that, even though I haven’t had the time to draw as much as I’d like to in the past few years, I can still draw something, and have it come out correctly in a flip test.
So yay!
Almost finished with the cleaner sketch on Chat, just have to finish his head, then I can move on to the tight pencils.
Same with trying to move the work space. You have to zoom pinch, THEN move.
But I’m a stubborn Capricorn! I WILL see this through to inks, then to colors!
I’ve figured out the wonders of recording my screen on my iphone, though, and came across Adobe Sketch, a good little Adobe app that suits my needs for now. It does take some getting used to, and you trade the normal hot keys of Photoshop for gestures, which don’t always register the first few times. But with practice, I’ll get the hang of it.
No, I do NOT use or own an Apple Pencil. I picked up the ONN Precision stylus, which has a mesh end for typing, and the precision disc tips on the other end. MUCH easier than using a standard smartphone stylus.
Once we move into our new home (hopefully soon!), I’ll be able to get everything set back up, fully updated, and I plan on getting back into the swing of artsy things again. This current living situation has just been VERY bad for arting.
Guy coming off the ramp decides to cut across the solid double yellow lines, cut me off, blocking traffic, just to get to the tax prep office. When there is a perfectly LEGAL U-turn a little further up on his side of the highway.
He’s lucky, because the Mt. Olive police normally LOVE to sit right there to catch idiots like him.
Welp, it seems that he found his way back home and is now one of many spirits and beasties haunting the back yard. X3
( NOTE: their jewelry site is gone, HOWEVER they now have a comic, both online and in print, that is awesome and on going, called, “Sacrimony”. I HIGHLY suggest checking it out and giving them some love!)

It fits beautifully, and Indy captured every detail of Chat ring. We say it's the ring between the seconds when Adrien starts his transformation to the second he becomes Chat Noir. That's why it's a silver ring with the cat paw.
Thank you, again, Indy! I can't fangirl over your works enough!
Me thinks it's time to get my hands on a copy of Adobe Premiere. And update my graphics card... and stuff.
But rent and bills, ya know. So I'll keep chugging away at the store jobs and working on freelance commissioned work when I'm not there. And, of course, continue making videos.
Not sure what this sleep thing is anymore... or free time. XP
Part 2 coming this week! Look forward to it!

Next stage of the Kyota and Zurui commission.
MARKER PAINTING! Well, technically mixed media, as I also use colored pencils and white gel pen, and possibly soon acrylic paints for fireworks and all that jazz.
A commissioned order for DJ Kyota and his mate, Zurui. Their fursonas, Kyota (laying down), and Zurui (sitting up) on the roof of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, in Pittsburg, PA (USA), watching a beautiful fireworks display (to be added in the final paints).
My weapons of choice here?
~Prismacolor markers
~Copic sketch markers
~Derwent colored pencils
~Lowe Cornell colored pencils
~white gel pen
Cool bit of news I discovered while working on this? Prismacolor and Copic markers work BEAUTIFULLY on inks printed from an HP printer that uses HP Vivera inks. No bleeding, so shmears... SUCH A TIME AND MONEY SAVER! I will no longer have to run to Staples to have the Copy Center peeps print my digital inks or digitally cleaned traditional inks onto card stock via their dry ink copy machines.
Now to see if this works with watercolors and Dr. Martin PH dyes.
Again, the pencils were done all in ArtRage Studio, then non-repro blued in Adobe Photoshop CS3, and printed onto 11 x 8.5 inch cardstock. Inks done with Speedball Super Black india ink and brush.

For those wondering, the reason why I changed the tight pencils to a non-repro blue line, I've printed the tight pencils, and am able to ink with my beloved brush and india ink straight on the printed page. The non-repro blue will NOT show when I copy the inks later on a copy machine, which will be the final mixed media marker painting.

Video 2 of the House of Jack Stark: Paddedpaw crest series.
I know, I know I lay flats the, "hard way", however this method isn't the hard way for me. Since 95% of the inking that I do is in a TRADITIONAL method... brush and ink, pen and ink, brush marker... this is the best way I'VE found to get every bit of color into every single crevice.
It's what works for me.
I DO, however, make sure to completely get rid of all of the white in the inks after scanning. Makes for easier coloring / painting.
All colors done in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

The beginning of one of MANY commissioned house crests for the book, "House of Jack Stark", by author, L C Cranston.
The first half of the video was NOT recorded in studio, hence the different angle. This was done while I was waiting to punch in for my shift at the grocery store. Yay for iPhone cameras and a napkin holder that served as a make shift tripod. XP I may do this more often at work, as it does draw in more interest to my videos and art, and can bring up some interesting conversations with coworkers.
The rest, though, recorded in studio, with my Logitech HD Pro C910, over my art / drafting desk. The usual.
Tech pencil, Prismacolor markers, and acrylic white paint in nothing more than my sketchbook, cleaned up in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Finally finished! Trying to recreate Jareth's sparkly coat without it looking insanely gawdy was a CHALLENGE, especially since I'm not a fan of using filters and was trying to stick with using JUST ArtRage Studio.
However, the only way I could give it the extra sparkles was by busting out Adobe Photoshop CS3 and using various custom brushes.
However, it's all finished finally, and will be available for my merch as soon as I can restock on supplies.
The main painting was done in ArtRage Studio, using my custom Oil Paint brush and a Crayon brush. That counts, right?
Recorded with the Livestream Procaster, edited in Windows Movie Maker ( someday I'll invest in better video editing software, but for now, this will have to do. ).

I know, I'm not inking with my beloved Raphael Kolinsky sable hair number 2 round brush and india ink, but I was determined to get the hang of, "brush", inking digitally.
Welcome to the next stage of the, "Chibi Jareth, the Goblin King", ArtRage Studio piece, with me, your hostess and artist, Debra, "Bee", Rohlfs!
I created a great felt art brush in ArtRage, which simulates my beloved traditional REAL brush. It just takes some getting the hang of not being able to look down at the tip, or seeing the brush size adjust on the screen.
The settings?
