A seminal figure in the contemporary world of the occult and beyond, Carl is the prolific author of several books, including ''Occulture'' and ''Source Magic'', as well as a publisher, magico-anthropologist, filmmaker, and photographer. He has been active in the magical community since the mid-1980s, traversing the blurry ''borders'' between art and magic, integrating ''occulture'' as a way of life and sharing his experiences, his process and passions along the way -the same passions that fueled my own creation of this series. Carl's lucid, laser-focused and courageous approach is a beacon of inspiration to many, including myself. Will, perseverance against all odds (even when those odds are the dominant paradigm itself), focus and intent, discipline, self-determination, resilience, Imagination and vision -these are the tools of the magician, the weapons and armor of the charioteer.The chariot is not only about ''achievement''. This is a higher path. Like any knight errant, in order to attain the grail and become his/her own master, the charioteer has to stare at the mirror of the abyss and endure its relentless gaze reflected back. The force of Geburah (severity) is the motive force of the chariot. On this highest path of severity, the grail (cup) is the fertile womb we look directly into when using our Imagination to produce Ideas.Who is in control of you? Who is pulling your chariot?
