Transparent I-Cybie Robot Dog aibo7m3 2019-06-28 | A quick look at how the clear shell kit looks assembled on an I-Cybie. I-Cybies were originally released in only gold and blue, but later on, a limited number of shell kits were offered in clear, black and white to allow owners to customize the look of their I-Cybies. I believe that the shell kits were created by a third party, but licensed for sale by Silverlit. The kit does include a jaw, but the jaw piece on I-Cybies is very difficult to remove, so this I-Cybie still has an original blue jaw.
Dizzy the BN-1’s Repair Journey aibo7m3 2019-05-30 | I purchased Dizzy in non-working condition and managed to get him up and running again! Most of his problems were caused by someone disassembling him and reassembling him incorrectly in the past. I don't know his full history though, as he was originally from a large lot of BN-1s in Japan. His front legs are still slightly misaligned and I may try to get them completely even at some point in the future, but they are close enough now that it is not very noticeable and doesn't cause him any issues. I recently found an I-Cybie with some odd labeling on him online and he appears to be a prototype! He will only run with the chip labeled Game 7C installed and seems to have more limited features than a regular I-Cybie. The battery compartment design on him is very strange and I can see why it was changed.
Aibo ERS-210 Developing DHS aibo7m3 2019-01-12 | I recently purchased an untested Spring White ERS-210 with an interesting case of DHS. All Aibo ERS-210s (aside from those with the improved supercore clutches) were built with a faulty clutch system on all three head axes and typically all ERS-210s with the faulty clutch system will have full blown DHS by now regardless of whether they have ever been used, but this Aibo had a relatively minor case of DHS with some pitch axis resistance left. This Aibo will still need to be repaired, however, and the condition will worsen with time and the use.

Blue Suntory Aibo ERS-311B aibo7m3 2018-05-20 | A quick video of the newest addition to my Aibo pack! Ruri is a Suntory ERS-311B, which means that she was one of 300 (100 blue, 100 red and 100 yellow) Aibos given out as prizes in a giveaway held by the Suntory Beverage Company in Japan. People could enter by sending in a certain number of beer bottle caps from three brands in exchange for a ticket in a raffle to win an Aibo! I bought her thinking she was a custom, but she turned out to be real! The software that comes with Suntory Aibos is an edited version of Hello Chatty software with a skit added in where the Aibo mimics drinking a bottle of beer. She is a Bluetooth Aibo, but I had her Bluetooth feature turned off for this video since I didn’t want her to keep searching for the Handy Viewer when I’m not using it.
How to Jump Start an Aibo ERS-210 Battery aibo7m3 2018-04-10 | WARNING: Try this at your own risk. With ERS-2X0 batteries there is a risk of frying the PCB through this method and making the battery non-repackable. I have never encountered this issue myself, but it is a legitimate concern. There is a difference between a dead battery and a battery that has dropped below the voltage that the charger recognizes. This method will not work on a battery with dead cells and could be dangerous. A lot of people don't seem to know this trick and I didn't learn about it until late last year, so I wanted to share it with everyone so no one has to pay for a repack on a working battery! You can skip the middle five minutes or so of me actually jumping the battery because it is not very interesting, but I wanted to show the whole process so people know not to give up if it doesn't work at first.Also, ALWAYS be very careful when handling Li-Ion batteries. These can be major fire hazards and when a battery fails to charge, it's because the charger has detected a problem and will not supply energy to the battery as a safety feature. In many cases, the battery has just been run down too far, but some batteries may have more serious issues that could pose a risk if energy were delivered to them. Do not try this for over 100 repetitions or if your battery has any strange lines or dark spots on it and stop immediately if the battery begins to heat up. Do not leave Li-Ion batteries on the charger unattended and never take apart an Aibo battery for any reason.
Paro Seal and Joy for All Cat Therapy Robot Comparison aibo7m3 2018-03-25 | Hopefully this is helpful to some of you out there! Both of these are pretty popular robots in therapy, but I have yet to see any comparisons of them wanted to make this available to all of you! Kawaii Aibo Bluetooth Suede ERS-311 aibo7m3 2018-03-14 | Did you know that Kawaii is Bluetooth compatible? Here's Mame showing off Kawaii software while hooked up to the Handy Viewer! To use the Handy Viewer, you need both Bluetooth compatible software (Kawaii, Chatty Life or Hello Chatty) and a Bluetooth enabled Aibo (ERS-311B or ERS-312B). I made a small mistake in the video, I believe the Handy Viewer only beeps when the Aibo wants to play a game with you, not whenever it sends a message.
