Hi! How has everyone been? It’s 2021 finally! This time, Latios and I decided to do a collab on Beyond the Sky from Symphonic Rain (thanks Latios for recommending me to play it!). I really enjoyed the whole storyline and the characters as I was going through it. The routes and the different endings give it a nice twist. I especially like the true ending and grand ending! I recommend Symphonic Rain to you guys too (you can play it on Steam) - It’s a story about a city with endless rain (that’s why I added the rain effects in the cover too). I tried a different style of singing to express the emotions in the lyrics. Hope you enjoy my take on it!

Baba: Kurai has improved and honed her skills so much over the years!! I was honestly so flattered that she wanted to collab! It was a fun and interesting experience balancing work and adult obligations with a hobby we used to participate in together years ago. Very nostalgic and precious.

Kurai: Hi~ I got to duet with the amazing Baba (10+ years after our adventures together in Penguin Beat haha)!!! It was so much fun singing/rapping and mixing this. I got to play around with so many effects. You probably aren't able to hear it too much in the mix but it's absolute chaos in the acapella version lol. Baba did the beautiful art (she made my OC look so cool!!!) and I did a simple video. I hope you enjoyed our take on the song!

It's already the end of the year! I'm 10+ years late in covering this song, but I'm really happy with the emotions that I was able to convey in this cover. I actually had the vocals recorded back in March/April but wasn't happy with the mix until now. I spent a lot of time this year learning how to mix (under a personal passion project that I'm excited to share with you hopefully soon), so I hope that you are able to hear the improvements here! I also procrastinated a lot because I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with the music video. I ended up re-creating the original Calc. background and made a simple lyric video. It was fun playing around Photopea and DaVinci Resolve.

I tried to embodied Till's aggressive and stressed vibes and Luka's look at me I'm going to win vibes in my cover. I hope you enjoyed my take. I'm back with another Honkai cover!! This time it's a remix of "If I Can Stop One Heart From Breaking" ଘ(੭*ˊᵕˋ)੭* ̀ˋWuliao did an AMAZING job with the remix! I listened to this when he was still conceptualizing it and it reminded me of a city montage, so we ended up with a moodier version of the song. I can imagine leaning against the wall, looking down at the floor and sighing as rain pours down（ー○ー）＝３ I hope you enjoy this take! I also created the AMV! I haven't done one in so many years lol but it was a lot of fun piecing the scenes together.

P.S. We wanted to join the Multiverse Vistas last year but couldn't make it in time (that was what the ukulele version of "Take the Journey" was originally for lol), but I'm glad we were able to create something and make the deadline this year! Wuliao:
I wanted to reimagine the style of the song while still emulating the strong emotions of longing for freedom. I ended up with a hip hop-like track that created a sorrowful feeling but with utilizing trumpets to add some light at the end of the tunnel.

I experimented a lot with the vocals because I really wanted to portray Natsuki's feelings of love through the voice acting and cover. I asked a very special person to me (anon) to sing Yuu's lines. Hello! I've been a fan of CircusP's songs since he created "Lie" (still can't believe it's been 11 years) and always wanted to cover one of his songs except I was never happy with my attempts. But I'm happy to say that I finally covered one of his songs :D I'm such a huge fan of the song "Sabotage" and love everything about the production. I hope I did it justice.

I absolutely adore the style I sang in (wish there were more songs like this). The range was perfect and love how I transitioned between notes~ but I did noticed that I lost my breath towards the end of the phrases (maybe it's a sign that I need to start exercising lol). I also experimented with different effects in my mix and tried mastering for the first time! Hopefully my mixing skills leveled up! (˃̣̣̥▽˂̣̣̥) (btw the creative direction of the original MV is so cool *^* I had issues rendering so I stared at the MV for a long time and noticed a bunch of cool details)

Hello! It's been a while. Real life is kicking my butt but I'm back with a short cover of YOASOBI's new song, Idol! Very different from what I usually cover but it was fun to learn (wanted to cover this just because I wanted to try to rap lol).

YOASOBI does a great job in producing songs as usual. I think it has a different feel than what they usually produce which is what drew me in. I also enjoyed the lyrics - they perfectly describe the darker side of the entertainment world. I haven't watched the anime yet, but I read the manga a while ago and T_T

Hello! How is everyone doing? I can’t believe it’s already February. I’ve been so busy in January with IRL stuff. I had initially made a new years resolution to try to post regularly (once a month), but as you can tell, I didn’t succeed lol (I did record this in January, does that count?) To challenge/motivate myself, I’m trying to do monthly themed covers. January’s theme was “rabbit” (to celebrate the year of the rabbit). The song’s name is Spinning Sky Rabbit. Fitting isn’t it?

I really enjoyed creating this cover and the vocal journey of emotions: from scared and helpless (breathy singing voice), to changing little by little and gaining some strength and confidence (head voice I think?), to overcoming the challenge (belting and power falsetto!!!). I really like of how I sounded when switching between belting and falsetto for this cover. I usually don’t like using falsetto for power because it never switches naturally, but I think I did a decent job this time!

I hope you enjoy this cover! Looking ahead, February’s theme will be “love”. I look forward to how future me will interpret it :P

I’m back with another cover! I really like the message that this song conveys. It’s very relatable. Even if you’re stuck somewhere in life, the rain will (hopefully) stop one day. Just need to take things step by step! The song/melody also sounds very nostalgic (go listen to the original, it’s great!). It reminds me of the type of songs that I used to cover.

This is also the opening song of another otome game demo (I’ve been really into visual novels recently) that I found earlier in the year. I really enjoyed playing through the demo and am looking forward to the full version!! It’s a very relatable slice of life type of story and the everything about it is ♡ and very aesthetic. I added some voice acting in the beginning (from the lines in the trailer), and tried to imagine how April (the heroine) would say it, but I think I made it a bit too dramatic. Anyways I hope you enjoy this cover!

Hi! I fell in love with Ataraxia (first song in this series), and when I saw that Patterns was hosting a contest for Proxima, I knew I had to join. I pulled in my friend Wuliao to join me in the contest and he did such a great job on the remix arrangement (can you believe that he only started producing music recently??). I was worried that we wouldn't finish in time because we were both pretty busy in August, but we somehow made it. I really enjoyed the whole process (it kinda reminds me of my chorus battle days) and it's just so fun listening to all the other entries (everyone is so talented!!). I hope you enjoy our remix version of Proxima! It's a pretty different vibe from the original (which is more ethereal), but it'll make you feel like you're shooting through space.

P.S. The vocals used here were actually for the original version. Wuliao was able to remix those vocals to his arrangement. I'll upload the cover for the original version in a week or so. It's really interesting how the same vocals will give completely different vibes.

I saw that Nem-P came out with a new song recently and fell in love with it (especially how he used Miku's lower range), so had to cover it! It was pretty challenging to sing since the range was so large, but it was fun to belt again. I also tried some new mixing techniques/effects.

Hey~ This is my entry for the "in the rain" Keeno Cover Song Contest! I made this mashup based on にきろ's PV of Glow ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7N1PO5tfFk ). I'm so proud that I was able to make it into a small story 8D It's about two people who were childhood friends. When they began to grow up, they started to hurt each other unconsciously, building distance between each other, when in reality, they really wanted to stay together. The songs I sang together at the end (Glow and Fix) reflected the conflicted feelings of wanting to be noticed again and wanting the memories to disappear.

And why are there two different colored subs? ouo The white subs are the words in the person's heart (what he or she truly wants to say), and the blue subs are what he or she are saying to the world (a front? I guess xD Not a lie but not the total truth)

I tuned my vocals for Rin's part because she was a robot, but even though she gained a heart, I thought that she didn't really become "truly human" and stopped functioning because of that. To me, Rin was a humanized robot after gaining that heart, but still a robot.

I didn't tune my vocals for Len's part (because he was human), so I'm sure you can hear many off notes there~ xD And I sang it an octave lower because if I sang it an octave higher, you probably won't recognize which part is kokoro and which part is kokoro kiseki (even I had a hard time figuring it out ouo;; ) I'm sad that my voice isn't manly enough, I need to take lessons on how to genderbend BD //shot

No harmonies and short version because I was lazy xD;; Sorry~ But I hope the mixing improved!
