If you’re metabolically efficient, meaning, that you hold a good amount of lean muscle mass, you’ll burn fuel much better!
Not only is protein important for building and maintaining muscle, but new research shows that the body has a sensing mechanism to detect when enough amino acids have been consumed. So when you eat the right amount of protein (which contains amino acids), the brain will stop signaling that you are hungry.
One thing you’ll notice in most elderly people, is they naturally have less muscle than in their younger years. The reason is that our ability to hold onto muscle declines with age. Age-related muscle loss (technical term is 'sarcopenia') is a major cause of weight gain, falls and fractures in most elderly.
Strength training exercise is one useful driver to remedy muscle loss. But what’s most often overlook is the right nutrition for muscle growth.
The highest levels of muscle growth will not be achieved by strength training alone. Protein dosing, protein timing, along with some key supplementation, all play a part in creating and sustaining muscle mass.
I’ll cover more details on this in today’s video.

It's important to understand that eating highly processed foods that are designed to elevate our brain’s reward center can produce something like an addictive effect and can also affect our emotions.
Going without these foods for awhile, maybe when trying to lose weight or doing a detox, can also change how we sense our feelings or emotions. This can create a cycle of “numbing” or “comforting our feelings” with food.
So asking better questions helps create new patterns.
Tips to know: When a “hunger” sensation next arises, keep your attention on it and try out some of these questions I cover in this video.

Longdong (龍洞) in northeast Taiwan is a popular spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, and rock climbing. It is a picturesque bay naturally formed by geological movement on the Northeast Coast about 35 million years ago. As its name suggests, the shape of the coastline resembles the body of a giant dragon crouching on the coast, and there is a large sea cave at the foot of the steep cliffs along the coastline.
