Cecil Wolfe of Blue Ridge, Virginia, a man with more than 50 years behind the wheel and a lifetime of trucking stories to tell shares the history of the very first truck he bought when starting Wolfe Motor Lines — a truck that began life as a short wheelbase day cab with 750,000 miles and has now seen more than 3.5 million miles. Over the years, that truck has been stretched, rebuilt, transformed, featured in the Shell Rotella calendar, fitted with an Aerostar sleeper, and powered by the same block and crank after decades of hard work.
But this story does not stop with Cecil. His son Jeremiah continues the family tradition with his own 2017 Peterbilt 389 glider, a working heavy-haul truck built in-house and powered by a 6NZ Caterpillar. Jeremiah walks us around the truck and shares the custom touches, from the ROK visor and 12 Gauge panels to the air ride front end, Legendary Extreme lighting, blacked-out interior, and handmade details built from parts found around the shop. This 389 is not just for show — it regularly pulls lowboys, hauls construction equipment, and has grossed around 220,000 pounds on the job.
