Thankfully we could still enjoy music and company at the synagogue and the kids got to read their pasuk. The event was live streamed in the end, which was great.

********* Hey, I’m Talia! I am converting to Orthodox Judaism with my husband and three young children. On this channel I share my thoughts on the Hebrew months, converting to Judaism, celebrating Jewish holidays, and vlogs on our everyday life!
Q: What religion are you converting from and how did you decide to convert to Judaism? A: My husband and I were raised in Christian homes. We began to question the traditions we were raised with (2008) not long after we were married and then took further steps to raise our children with an awareness of Judaism and it’s significance when our first son was born (2012). It wasn’t until our youngest was born (2016) that we started to understand what it meant to be a Noahide, and in 2017 we moved to a new city close to a synagogue and in 2018 we started our official conversion to Orthodox Judaism.
Q: When do you expect to finish your conversion?A: We started lessons in June 2018, so we expect to finish towards the end of 2019, perhaps even 2020 if there’s things we’re really stuck on!
Are you doing plastic free July as a family? What do your kids think of it? Has it affected them very much?
I'll do a little Q&A with my kids towards the end of the month, so if you have a related question for them, or for me, add it below or on instagram - @sustainablejudaism

I've just recently breastfeeding my youngest, and when I worked it out I have been breastfeeding for nearly 7 years non stop! Wow! The journey hasn't always been easy, but it's been super rewarding. I really hope this video is encouraging to other mamas struggling with breastfeeding, and just interesting to everyone else!
I have many friends who have either through choice or necessity breastfed, bottle fed, mix fed, and also done all those things for huge variations in time. As you will see from my video, even my own experiences and lengths of time breastfeeding each child were really different and unique. I am super supportive of mothers feeding their babies however they choose - choice is a powerful thing! I hope that everyone who watches this can be supportive of me and my journey with breastfeeding as well. :)

It's been a great experience, and one I whole heartedly recommend to everyone!
I love vision boards! I'm a really visual person, and I love how they are so emotive, and inspiring. My word for the year is "Nourish", and while my board isn't ONLY about this word it does come up again and again in different ways.

Even though this January will be my second child going off the school, the grief, guilt, and over-thinking has me once again!

Day 8 of Chanukah!
We lit the chanukiah at my parent's place then drove home. The next day we did some normal stuff, as well as the kids opening their last present, and we had lots of fun playing dreidel and eating gelt!
