Good morning everyone, thank you for joining me on the mat. Let's begin our day with ease by doing a little bit of yin yoga. This is a slow and sweet practice suitable for all experience levels with no props required. This will help you increase flexibility and each pose will be held for 3 minutes or so. I'll guide you through poses like seated forward fold, deer, head to knee, sphinx and child's pose.
There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga. 1. Find your edge 2. Be still 3. Hold the pose
Find your edge means respecting your body's limits and not pushing too far and risking injury. Pull back a little bit and as you hold the pose you will be able to go deeper into it without pushing too far or hurting yourself.
Being still means that once you are in the pose it is important to completely relax your muscles so the benefits can get into the connective tissues and joints. Try not to fidget or move or distract yourself, this is a meditative practice. Breathe deeply in and out through the nose.
Holding the pose means that in Yin Yoga a pose can be held for 1-10 minutes depending on the pose performed and on the comfort level of the student. I usually teach poses held for around 4-5 minutes. Learn to surrender and keep a timer close by if needed.

Hi everyone, this is a bit of a strange class but I hope you'll bare with me! Some of you know my dear sweet Cleo passed away a few weeks ago, so I have been grieving this loss. I've also been wanting to create a fall equinox yoga class and decided that these two "themes" could be merged together through the intention: abundance of love.
This is a very gentle stretchy flow to soothe your nervous system and open up the area of the heart. It's suitable for all experience levels and no props are required.
The fall equinox is a time of transition and change. While symbolically this can be seen as a time of death and ending, it is also a time of great bounty and harvest. I'm going through grief right now but want to honor this sacred time by focusing on the bounty of love present in my life and the abundance of love I had for my baby Cleo.
If you are going through grief, I hope this class brings you a little bit of solace and helps you nurture mind and body. If you're in a good and happy phase of life, I am so glad for you! Honor the changing of the seasons and focus on this abundance of love present all around us.

It was her 13th birthday. She was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on October 30th 2023 and given only 2-3 weeks to live. She exceeded all expectations by not only living, but thriving for 10 more months! In the past few weeks her health started to decline and we knew our time together was running out. I knew I had to make a very hard decision.
Cleo died at home in my arms this past weekend. Her passing was calm and peaceful and she did not suffer. My husband and I are absolutely heartbroken by this loss. I've had Cleo since she was a tiny little baby. She was born at my aunt's house when they took in a street cat who turned out to be pregnant. I've had her since she was about 10 weeks old and I've loved her so deeply, the loss feels significant.
After her terminal cancer diagnosis I was shocked and distraught. One of the first things I did was record her purring so that I'd always have it available to listen to. I really believe cat purrs are healing. This is the audio you're listening to now.
I know many of you have gotten used to seeing Cleo in my videos over the years. I'm so thankful I have those to look back on. She died right in this yoga room, in my arms on the green and white blanket I always keep in the corner. It feels surreal to know that she's gone. Grief is not easy.
I've spent most of the past year in anticipatory grief. I've been afraid to leave the house for too long and constantly worrying about whether or not she was in pain or if the end was near. I was terrified of her dying while I wasn't home and really worried the end would be traumatic. There's a part of me that is lighter now, knowing that it's done and that it was peaceful and without pain. Of course the rest of me feels heavy with loss.
I loved her so much and miss her deeply.. Putting this little montage together was therapeutic for me and I thought I'd share it here since many of you had gotten used to seeing her periodically on my channel.
I believe she was ready to go and knew what was happening. I'm grateful to have had so much more time with her than the vet's thought was possible and know we gave her the best life. I can't believe she's really gone.

Hey everyone, in today's video I'm going to share with you the best yoga poses to get you into the splits. This is the stretching routine I've been doing once to three times a week to achieve my front splits. It only takes about 15 minutes and has given me great results in about 5 weeks.
This front splits yoga tutorial will go over poses that deeply stretch the hamstrings, hip flexors, calves and quads so that you can ease your way into the splits gradually over time. I use a lot of props for this so I recommend that you have at least two blocks. I'm also using the wall and some stairs as well as a 9 inch exercise ball.

It's a full body flexibility stretch to relax your muscles and get you ready for a great night's sleep. Of course, it can be done at any time of the day, but I personally think it makes for a perfect bedtime practice.
If you wanted to you could even do this class directly in bed. Rather than coming out of savasna at the end, I will leave you in this pose so that those of you doing this class in bed can tuck yourself under the covers and drift off to sleep.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for joining me in this extra long yin yoga class for deep flexibility, self-care and relaxation. This is a 90 minute full body stretch to provide you with some well deserved TLC. It's suitable for all levels and I recommend having a strap and either a bolster, a pillow or a block nearby.
We'll go through poses like butterfly, half butterfly, shoelace, supported fish, reclined hamstring stretch and half happy baby.
If you've been feeling depleted, stressed, burnt out or overwhelmed, this is a lovely practice to help you soothe your nervous system and get back to yourself.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.

Hi everyone, thank you for joining me in this air themed yoga class! We're doing something a bit different today, rather than focusing on asanas (yoga poses), we will be doing pranayama (breathwork). I figured this would be the best way for us to really tap into the element of air.
Air is all about intellect, inspiration, connection, mental clarity and communication. Each element has polarity, it can be intense like a tornado or calm like the air around us. We can have our head up in the clouds or use air for mental clarity. The idea is to find balance!
In this class I'll take you through Breath of Joy which is a dynamic exercise that we do standing. I'll then integrate a kundalini practice which is seated twist exercise that is also quite active. The element of water connects with our sacral svadhistana chakra and relates to creativity, fluidity, deep feeling, sensuality, emotion and the subconscious. If you've been feeling depleted, stressed, burnt out or overwhelmed, this is a lovely practice to help you soothe your nervous system and get back to yourself. I don't talk very much when I teach yin yoga because I want you to take the opportunity to go inward and listen to your body's inherent wisdom. Less is always more in yin yoga.
I'll take you through poses like supported fish, supported bridge/butterfly, half butterfly, straddle, pigeon pose, child's pose and savasana.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.

I've been on YouTube for nearly a decade now so I have tons of old classes that have great sequences but were poorly filmed. I had no idea what I was doing back then!! ;) I've revamped the sequence a touch as I teach a bit differently these days.
This class is a 30 minute intermediate vinyasa flow practice to stretch and strengthen your side body. This includes your obliques, sides of your glutes and down the legs for the IT band and abductors.
I find the side body can be neglected in many yoga sequences, so today we will focus on it extensively. You can expect a lot of side bending poses, core strengthening poses that target the obliques, asymmetrical balancing poses and hip openers. We'll be doing poses like side plank, half moon, twisted pigeon and exalted low lunge.
