Queen - Live in Vienna (May 13th, 1982) [2025 REMASTER] Queen Live Rarities 2025-10-05 | Queen - Live at Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria (13/05/1982)*2025 REMASTER*As promised, to accompany the 1st night, we've got a remaster for night 2 in Vienna on the Hot Space tour 🙌 Some would argue the performance here was EVEN BETTER! Overall, I may have to agree. At the very least, it stands out due to the setlist alterations. The biggest change was the introduction of Body Language, and it's the first of only two times they'd play it on the European leg.The original tape had quite a bit more hiss than the previous night's tape, so it's safe to say it's at least one further generation away from the master. Despite that, I think the result I've gotten out of this sounds on par (and better in a lot of areas) than night 1's raw tape (pre-remaster). That tape was already rated "A", so in theory, this should now be an "A" too. But would be curious to know your thoughts 🙂This was a far more straight forward remaster in comparison, since there weren't any alternate sources to consider. The extra tape hiss meant I couldn't quite uncover as many of the high frequencies as night 1. But in this case, it actually made my job easier. While there's still a considerable amount of high end, it wasn't as susceptible to sounding harsh. So the final result was reached rather quickly!1. Flash - 0:002. The Hero - 2:253. Using this show as an example, I could've potentially spent so many more hours/days/weeks finding and obsessing over any other miniscule artifact which could be present, but at a cost too significant to be deemed worthwhile. Time that could (and has) been spent focusing on a wide range of different shows to share with you over the remainder of 2025 instead 😃In more simple terms, I'll never claim these live remasters are 100% perfect. But if I can reach 90%+ within a reasonable timeframe and is a noticeable improvement, I absolutely feel it's a worthwhile addition to the community. And hey! Queen - Headlong (Full Version) [2025 Restoration] Queen Live Rarities 2025-09-26 | This complete version of the early Headlong mix is something I've been working on in the background for over a year, and finally, we've landed on a satisfactory result 🤩 I was hoping to share this alongside the official music video, but it's now being automatically blocked on YouTube so we'll have to settle for this instead.For those who don't know the backstory, an earlier mix of Headlong exists (different from the common version on CDs/streaming). I can only assume it was to accommodate the music video which was filmed months in advance. This mix also featured on the single edit and early Innuendo LP releases. The differences to the later mix aren't all that drastic, but I definitely like the early one more. The drums are a little more distinguishable and the track sounds less murky.Digitally, only the single edit was available to work with (via Greatest Hits II)... or so I thought! I found out very recently (thanks to user @krystian2077) that the 2004 Japan remaster of Innuendo actually features this mix too, except without the edits! I never made that distinction before, due to how differently the 2004 CD was EQed.Now, the single edit is still by far the better base for this restoration, as it's not hindered by brick-walling and/or compression, but the 2004 CD still came in clutch for restoring the edits in the middle and towards the end of the song. Of course, I didn't just paste these back in willy-nilly. I made sure the EQ was an identical match and repaired any discrepancies in volume beforehand.Up until that recent revelation, I'd been using the HiFi VHS of Greatest Flix II to patch in those edits, as it's the only other lossless version of this mix out there. BUT, this source still came in handy for the extra guitar riff around the 1:00 mark, which doesn't currently appear anywhere else besides the music video ☝ Blending this source in seamlessly was a bit more of a challenge, as analog and digital presents different sets of characteristics. Again, EQ and speeds had to match perfectly in order for this to work. The high end rolled off rather early on the VHS source, but thankfully, it was fully recoverable 😃The final result is something I'm extremely happy with. It's the first time this complete early mix of Headlong ever appears on digital formats in high, lossless quality. Hope you enjoy...🚨 IN OTHER NEWS: Updates/upgrades on the entire 2024/25 Restoration Project have been in the works since February, and are live in the folder right now at the bottom of linktr.ee/2024restorations (clickable link can be found in the comments)!!What's been updated? Well, the "Complete Works" inspired high-end enhancements on all the 70s and early 80s albums are great and all, but my claim from the beginning was to bring the albums back as faithfully as possible to their original state - the way the band intended them to sound. In a way, I've been contradicting myself by only offering the enhanced versions for those albums. New editions have now been rolled out, which finally live up to the moniker 🙂There's multiple benefits to having both the "enhanced" and "original" editions on offer. If you really like to crank your music, the restored high-end may not be the favorable option. Or simply, your particular system may suit a particular sound 🤷♂️How to tell which edition is which? Basically, if you see any albums labelled 2025 as opposed to 2024, they're brand-new updates. I've also re-structured the folders slightly to reflect the changes. The pre-existing "enhanced" installments are now labelled on the folders to reflect that, which further helps differentiate them from the new "non-enhanced" (aka 100% based on the original vinyl) editions 👍High-end aside, my skills have advanced considerably since the beginning of the project. I've been able to go back and implement many, many further refinements to almost all of the albums, driving the point across that these restorations are now TRULY 1:1 with the vinyls they've been modelled after. Some albums were almost completely redone from the ground up! A lot of the differences are subtle to the point where you likely won't find them all, but I was determined to eliminate any and all doubt that I've gotten the absolute most I could out of my evolved skill-set 💪😉Revisiting all 15 albums has been a hell of a lot of work, not gonna lie! But I knew if I were to undertake this project once again, it had to be all or nothing. Queen - Jealousy (With Long-Lost Bass Drum) [2025 Restoration] Queen Live Rarities 2025-09-25 | After almost a year worth of requests and peer-pressure (jk 😜), you finally cracked me and I decided to see what I could do with this 👀 I was never really a fan of the restored kick drum on the 2011 Remaster if I'm honest, but at the same time, I hadn't quite grasped just how high the percentage was for those who actually prefer it over the original mix.I can gladly say this 2025 Restoration is finally helping me realize the appeal of the kick drum 🙌 Am still undecided as to what my preferred version is, but in hindsight, I think what made me not like the 2011 Remaster version was simply, because it was the 2011 Remaster and all the limitations that came with it.Now, the 2011 Remaster version on its own was beyond repair, so I had to go about this differently. Thanks to the latest 'DrumSep' separation model, I was able to cleanly extract the kick and go about incorporating it back into the original mix (which I'd already restored in last year's Jazz installment).Plonking the kick drum directly over the original mix wasn't quite hitting right. I inspected, and I'm assuming George Marino (who mastered the original Jazz LPs) wanted to make up for the lost kick by raising the low frequencies from roughly 300Hz downwards. The raised low end with the kick drum added back in just made it all overpowering. So I carefully went in and brought the affected frequencies back down to the position they would've originally been in. Freddie Mercury - She Blows Hot & Cold [2025 Restoration] Queen Live Rarities 2025-09-21 | Months and months removed from the last one, we're finally back with another Queen-related installment of the 2025 Restoration project 😃Truth be told, I began work on this album well over two years ago, and it's been in a near-complete state ever since then. Fast forward to now, I've finally acquired the final piece of the puzzle needed in order to finish it! Of all things, the missing piece was a more reliable source of 'Stop All The Fighting', via a variation of the 1993 Great Pretender CD single 💪Like the majority of Queen albums we've covered on the project, Mr. Bad Guy in digital form has always suffered. The original 1985 CD was solid, but came with similar hinderances to the likes of The Works, AKOM and Innuendo CDs. In turn, the early vinyl releases have always been considered the superior way of listening to this album. In this particular instance, I've based the Restoration on the original USA pressing 🙌 Using the original 1985 CD as the base source, it was a breeze to work with! Basically, only the EQ needed adjusting.I'd go as far as saying it's a night and day difference, and in my opinion, it suggests the 2019 Remix wasn't as warranted as it was made out to be. But I'll leave that up to you to decide 👀Additionally, the 'Extra Tracks' folder comes loaded with the extended versions which accompanied the original 12" singles. The '2000 Solo Collection' box is our only current digital source for these tracks.Being 100% honest, I knew the box set had Peter Mew's finger prints all over it before I even looked at the credits 🤷 At least around that time period, he had at least three signature mastering techniques, and unfortunately, I could only fully reverse one of them 😢 The two I couldn't do anything about were compression and noise reduction (not all tracks were affected by the latter thankfully). Lucky for us, the obnoxious EQ patterns COULD be undone. For those who aren't aware, he'd always boost the upper bass and upper mids/lower treble areas, leaving the lower mids sucked away of any life.Before the 2025 Restoration, I was never able to listen to the extended versions all the way through. To my ears at least, they sounded SOOOO bad 😖 But now they're restored, I can listen to them no problem and finally appreciate just how fun some of them are 🤘The way I reversed those EQ patterns accurately was simple. By measuring the original Mr. Bad Guy CD up against the one Peter Mew remastered for the box set, cancelling out the differences and applying those same changes to the extended versions. From there, I implemented the same adjustments I used on the main album to match the vinyl pressing. Easy as that. No offense to Mr. Mew, but this is how cut and paste his mastering techniques were at the time. In terms of this project, HE was the only real "Bad Guy" 😉 (I'm being tongue-in-cheek obviously, no hard feelings towards the man)...No comparisons video sadly! It's a struggle to find the time to make one to an acceptable standard at this time. Fast forward to now, I've finally acquired the final piece of the puzzle needed in order to finish it! Of all things, the missing piece was a more reliable source of 'Stop All The Fighting', via a variation of the 1993 Great Pretender CD single 💪Like the majority of Queen albums we've covered on the project, Mr. Bad Guy in digital form has always suffered. The original 1985 CD was solid, but came with similar hinderances to the likes of The Works, AKOM and Innuendo CDs. In turn, the early vinyl releases have always been considered the superior way of listening to this album. In this particular instance, I've based the Restoration on the original USA pressing 🙌 Using the original 1985 CD as the base source, it was a breeze to work with! Basically, only the EQ needed adjusting.I'd go as far as saying it's a night and day difference, and in my opinion, it suggests the 2019 Remix wasn't as warranted as it was made out to be. But I'll leave that up to you to decide 👀Additionally, the 'Extra Tracks' folder comes loaded with the extended versions which accompanied the original 12" singles. The '2000 Solo Collection' box is our only current digital source for these tracks.Being 100% honest, I knew the box set had Peter Mew's finger prints all over it before I even looked at the credits 🤷 At least around that time period, he had at least three signature mastering techniques, and unfortunately, I could only fully reverse one of them 😢 The two I couldn't do anything about were compression and noise reduction (not all tracks were affected by the latter thankfully). Lucky for us, the obnoxious EQ patterns COULD be undone. Freddie Mercury - Made In Heaven [2025 Restoration] Queen Live Rarities 2025-09-21 | Months and months removed from the last one, we're finally back with another Queen-related installment of the 2025 Restoration project 😃Truth be told, I began work on this album well over two years ago, and it's been in a near-complete state ever since then. Fast forward to now, I've finally acquired the final piece of the puzzle needed in order to finish it! Of all things, the missing piece was a more reliable source of 'Stop All The Fighting', via a variation of the 1993 Great Pretender CD single 💪Like the majority of Queen albums we've covered on the project, Mr. Bad Guy in digital form has always suffered. The original 1985 CD was solid, but came with similar hinderances to the likes of The Works, AKOM and Innuendo CDs. In turn, the early vinyl releases have always been considered the superior way of listening to this album. In this particular instance, I've based the Restoration on the original USA pressing 🙌 Using the original 1985 CD as the base source, it was a breeze to work with! Queen - Live in Vienna (May 12th, 1982) [2025 REMASTER] Queen Live Rarities 2025-09-16 | Queen - Live at Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria (12/05/1982)*2025 REMASTER*Firstly, I feel like such a noob. I've been sitting on this remaster for exactly a year, and it wasn't until I recently went back to type up a lineage that I noticed this show has two different sources 😅 And that the alternate source fills in some rather important gaps. So I immediately got to work on remastering Source 2 and subsequently patching it in where necessary.Now, Source 1 was already a superb recording in its raw form, but it still had more potential! The initial work I did on the tape was fairly straight forward. The only manual work required aside from the usual stuff was lessening the spectral de-noise during Love Of My Life. I'm unsure if a noise gate on the original tape is to blame, or if it was just some other form of noise reduction by the bootleg company, but the hiss completely dies out during the very quiet parts of the tape. With additional noise reduction over the top, these instances become even more apparent. If this disturbs you, please know it was none of my doing! I've worked around it the best I can 👍The only real hinderance I'm still encountering with this recording (keeping it from surpassing the "A" rating) is a slightly overblown quality in places. I initially had the high frequencies sitting a little higher in the mix, but they tended to sound a bit messy and caused ear fatigue the more I listened. I've made the most reasonable compromise I can. Still sounds nice and clear compared to the original, but (hopefully) no piercingly harsh moments.All things considered, while Source 2 is still miles below the main in terms of quality, the improvements I've been able to make on it are even more note-worthy in my opinion. It was an easy fix overall, but it needed all the help it could get!To sum up the show, we're very fortunate that every 80s Queen show in the city of Vienna has an excellent recording in circulation. And on a tour as mighty as the Hot Space European leg, this sort of combination has 'essential listening' written all over it 🙌 All 4 members of the band really are full steam ahead here, helped on even more by the warm reception of the audience. That atmosphere is perfectly captured on the recording, with an absolutely beautiful natural reverb 👌Expect to see a remaster of Queen's 2nd Vienna 1982 show very soon 👀1. Flash - 0:002. Time that could (and has) been spent focusing on a wide range of different shows to share with you over the remainder of 2025 instead 😃In more simple terms, I'll never claim these live remasters are 100% perfect. But if I can reach 90%+ within a reasonable timeframe and is a noticeable improvement, I absolutely feel it's a worthwhile addition to the community. And hey! The intention of this project is to find the album's best digital source(s), undo any & all previous remastering work and restore the music to exactly how the artist originally intended it to sound!Using the very same sources as the new SACD for the base, it's been gratifying to discover just how great they really are to work with 🙌 In terms of dynamics, certain tracks are a big step up to what we had previously. And upon reverting the mastering to how the original CD and LPs were presented, the result is pure bliss 👌Working closely on each track individually was a necessity here, as the EQ balance and normalization on each channel varied in a multitude of ways. Additionally, the overall speed for each track was adjusted slightly, edging them closer to the original CD. Some (mostly) minor volume fluctuations during some tracks were present, so these instances were also addressed. Safe to assume most of these differences were simply due to the fresh analogue sources...One of the major drawbacks I discovered with these new sources, the spacing between the tracks (which is usually 100% faithful with Mofi/MFSL releases) was way off on this one. They were all positioned much closer together, and wee bits of tape at the beginning and end of each track were trimmed shorter as a result. With some careful and seamless merging via the original CD, this has been corrected. Each track now flows along exactly as they're supposed to 🙂I've made the decision to offer up multiple editions for this 2025 Restoration. One of which mirrors the sound of the original 1991 CD in every way, except it's much more free and dynamic 🤘 I personally think 'Jam' and 'Dangerous' benefit the most from this treatment. The original CD versions of these two actually sound rather compressed in comparison.The other version of the 2025 Restoration up for grabs (the one featured on these YouTube uploads), brings in the overall EQ curve from the beloved original USA LP release 🔥 For those who feel the original CD is on the edge of being too bright and sharp, this is definitely the edition for you ☝ The bass has more room to shine here, and (despite the highs sounding just as crisp) it's a little easier on the ears!I'm extremely grateful towards Mofi for releases like these. The intention of this project is to find the album's best digital source(s), undo any & all previous remastering work and restore the music to exactly how the artist originally intended it to sound!Using the very same sources as the new SACD for the base, it's been gratifying to discover just how great they really are to work with 🙌 In terms of dynamics, certain tracks are a big step up to what we had previously. And upon reverting the mastering to how the original CD and LPs were presented, the result is pure bliss 👌Working closely on each track individually was a necessity here, as the EQ balance and normalization on each channel varied in a multitude of ways. Additionally, the overall speed for each track was adjusted slightly, edging them closer to the original CD. Some (mostly) minor volume fluctuations during some tracks were present, so these instances were also addressed. Safe to assume most of these differences were simply due to the fresh analogue sources...One of the major drawbacks I discovered with these new sources, the spacing between the tracks (which is usually 100% faithful with Mofi/MFSL releases) was way off on this one. They were all positioned much closer together, and wee bits of tape at the beginning and end of each track were trimmed shorter as a result. With some careful and seamless merging via the original CD, this has been corrected. Each track now flows along exactly as they're supposed to 🙂I've made the decision to offer up multiple editions for this 2025 Restoration. One of which mirrors the sound of the original 1991 CD in every way, except it's much more free and dynamic 🤘 I personally think 'Jam' and 'Dangerous' benefit the most from this treatment. The original CD versions of these two actually sound rather compressed in comparison.The other version of the 2025 Restoration up for grabs (the one featured on these YouTube uploads), brings in the overall EQ curve from the beloved original USA LP release 🔥 For those who feel the original CD is on the edge of being too bright and sharp, this is definitely the edition for you ☝ The bass has more room to shine here, and (despite the highs sounding just as crisp) it's a little easier on the ears!I'm extremely grateful towards Mofi for releases like these. Michael Jackson - Jam [2025 Restoration] Queen Live Rarities 2025-08-01 | Very early 'surprise' preview for a future installment of the Restoration project! This upload is specifically intended to demonstrate the capabilities of the brand-new Mo-Fi/MFSL release of Dangerous, where there's currently a lot of controversy surrounding this track in particular. It's believed that it contains mastering errors, and as of the time of this upload, we've yet to receive an official verdict. Folks believe this track on the new release has a constant volume imbalance between the left and right channels. Based on my inspections, it's not the volume that's imbalanced, but the EQ. One channel is bass heavy, and the other is treble heavy. These characteristics weren't at all present on all prior releases. Whether it's truly is a mastering error, or just how the original tape appears, we may never know (but on a side note, I believe this detail being overlooked at all makes it somewhat of an error) 🤷♂️Good news though, the source is completely recoverable, and the end result is a much more dynamic experience than any digital release has ever offered! In fact, it's one of two tracks on the new release which is actually MORE dynamic than even the original vinyl counterparts!If you want my overall opinion on the Mo-Fi/MFSL release, I think it could've been handled better. But regardless, the sources are absolutely brilliant 🙌 One of the other drawbacks with the release, the spacing between the tracks (which is usually 100% faithful) is way off on this one. They're all much closer together, and wee bits of tape at the beginning and end of each track were trimmed shorter as a result. Again, with some careful merging, this is reversible too. Just very time consuming if I want to get it right (due to 12 of the 14 tracks being sourced from the original analogue tapes and the speed fluctuations that come with it).What I've done with Jam here is rebalance the EQ on each channel to exactly match the original CD, adjust the overall speed to edge it closer to the original CD, undo the minor volume fluctuations that came from the new transfer, merge small bits of tape back onto the beginning and end of the track via the original CD, and finally, adjust the overall EQ to match the beloved original USA vinyl release!! Queen - Live in Detroit (November 18th, 1977) [2025 REMASTER] Queen Live Rarities 2025-07-20 | Queen - Live at Cobo Hall, Detroit, MI, USA (18/11/1977)*2025 REMASTER*The original plan was to upload a remaster of the 1st New York show from 1978, but after the incredible new Queen shares over the last couple weeks, I think it's safe to say we've all had our fill of the Jazz tour for now. Will keep that one saved for a later date. Instead, we pivot from one stellar show (with average tape quality) to another 👀This is currently the earliest recording in circulation from the News Of The World tour, and to say it's a treat is an understatement! It's the earliest time we get to hear We Will Rock You (slow and fast), It's Late, I'm In Love With My Car, Get Down Make Love, Spread Your Wings, Love Of My Life, My Melancholy Blues and We Are The Champions played live 🤯 A lot of these would go on to be staples of their live set for years to come! Truly a historic recording.Now, to the tape itself. I think it was recorded very well! However, the process of digitizing it wasn't too kind. I've heard a few different stories as to what might've happened here, but whatever the case, the show ended up being shared and circulated with primitive and extremely harmful noise reduction, causing irreparable damage to frequencies from the 5KHz mark upwards. And for reasons out of anyone's control, the chance of ever getting a fresh transfer of the tape are slim to none 😔Anyways, what we have is what we have (which I'm still incredibly grateful for). And there was still enough room for improvement on this tape to deem a remaster worthwhile. A show of this caliber deserves to be heard in its best form possible, which is what I've set out to do. Despite the limitations, you'll still notice a reasonable difference between the original and this 2025 remaster 🙂The low frequencies were very buried on the original, but brought to their full potential, it actually sounds beautiful 🙌 The closer I got to the high frequencies, the more carefully I had to tread. Giving that area a full boost results in an overwhelmingly harsh and unnatural sound due to all the damage. In the end though, I was still able to salvage some of these details while keeping the unwanted artifacts to a minimum 👌On the plus side, it appears the damage from the noise reduction wasn't quite as severe after the first tape flip (before Liar) up until the end of Keep Yourself Alive. You'll notice a subtle improvement in quality during this portion of the show. We'll take our wins when we get them 😉Thanks to Bob (aka The Real Wizard) for the original speed corrections 🙏1. Queen - Live in San Diego (July 5th, 1980) [2025 REMASTER] Queen Live Rarities 2025-07-05 | Queen - Live at the Sports Arena, San Diego, CA, USA (05/07/1980)*2025 REMASTER*What better day for this to drop than on the gig's 45th anniversary 😀 A beloved show for so many reasons! I could seriously go on all day (it's one of my all-time favourite Queen shows)! Will refrain from blabbering about the actual show. Got lots to talk about regarding the remastering process, which was rather complex compared to most... What can I say about this recording? Taped very well and graciously shared 4 years ago by Mr. John Purlia. The quality is tremendous! The only glaring drawback was completely out of his control. I'm referring to the notoriously boomy acoustics of the San Diego Sports Arena. Now, not to burst anyone's bubble, but a remaster can't magically get rid of the boominess. All we can really do is navigate around it the best we can, which is what I've attempted to do here. Conventional tactics didn't necessarily apply here. Extra care was required. Too bright, and the cymbals become overbearing. So it was about finding that happy medium. I do think the result offers a very immersive experience! Obviously, if I could strip away the amount of reverb, I would. But with the sub-bass frequencies freed-up, it plays a little more nicely. With headphones on and your eyes closed, it feels as though you're inside the arena 🤯 Another characteristic with this tape, it gets gradually brighter as it goes on. Applying one level of EQ across the whole lot wasn't working. If I adjusted something to suit the beginning of the show, the cymbals were way too overbearing by the end. And vice versa. Shifting the EQ it to suit the end of the show made the beginning really muddy. I combated this by basically EQing this show two different times (to suit each end of the tape) and making one big crossfade between the two (if that makes sense). Issues which directly reflect the time period the album was conceived. And more importantly, issues which tend to hamper our overall experience with this album.The digital mastering techniques implemented during the late 90s into the early 00s were often very harmful to the music. Excessive brick-walling, unnecessary noise reduction and odd EQ choices intended to suit car stereos and such. Unfortunately, this album was a victim of most, if not all of these traits.However, the vinyl releases (ignoring the 2018 picture disc) weren't restricted to such standards, resulting in a much more pleasurable listening experience overall! Using techniques outlined in this comparison video, I've set out to bring those positive traits over to the existing digital version for an even cleaner sound 🙂The RESULT? Everything sounds much more MJ-like 🙌 We've uncovered details that went practically unheard on the original! Overflowing with soul and life, it no longer feels separate from everything else he's released 👌 If you're one of those who've been unimpressed with Invincible based on the existing versions, you NEED to hear it in this state!!! And if you're already a fan of Invincible, you still NEED to hear it in this state!!! 🔥To me, THIS form of the album feels more like a continuation of the vision they had for Dangerous, with the benefit of the more modern and mature influences 10 years on. The completed files for this project are in an even more refined form than what's present on these YouTube uploads. Basically, while undergoing the necessary steps to revert the vinyl's EQ curve to its neutral/flat position (a step I've also performed on every Queen album I worked on), I applied one additional, very minor step which turns out wasn't necessary in the end. The result of this particular step upped the overall brightness by roughly 1/4 of a decibel. In hindsight, this is probably a big plus for the YouTube uploads, as it could fare a chance of minimizing the lossy compression? 🤞 But yes, the lossless files have the slightest bit more control over the higher frequencies 🤏 But if you aren't an audiophile, you won't even notice either way 😉No active download link at this time I'm afraid. And more importantly, issues which tend to hamper our overall experience with this album.The digital mastering techniques implemented during the late 90s into the early 00s were often very harmful to the music. Excessive brick-walling, unnecessary noise reduction and odd EQ choices intended to suit car stereos and such. Unfortunately, this album was a victim of most, if not all of these traits.However, the vinyl releases (ignoring the 2018 picture disc) weren't restricted to such standards, resulting in a much more pleasurable listening experience overall! And if you're already a fan of Invincible, you still NEED to hear it in this state!!! 🔥To me, THIS form of the album feels more like a continuation of the vision they had for Dangerous, with the benefit of the more modern and mature influences 10 years on. The completed files for this project are in an even more refined form than what's present on these YouTube uploads. Basically, while undergoing the necessary steps to revert the vinyl's EQ curve to its neutral/flat position (a step I've also performed on every Queen album I worked on), I applied one additional, very minor step which turns out wasn't necessary in the end. The result of this particular step upped the overall brightness by roughly 1/4 of a decibel. In hindsight, this is probably a big plus for the YouTube uploads, as it could fare a chance of minimizing the lossy compression? 🤞 But yes, the lossless files have the slightest bit more control over the higher frequencies 🤏 But if you aren't an audiophile, you won't even notice either way 😉No active download link at this time I'm afraid. The intention of this project is to find the album's best digital source(s), undo any & all previous remastering work and restore the music to exactly how the artist originally intended it to sound!With the Invincible album, it's without question that the original CD release had its drawbacks (soundwise). Issues which directly reflect the time period the album was conceived. And more importantly, issues which tend to hamper our overall experience with this album.The digital mastering techniques implemented during the late 90s into the early 00s were often very harmful to the music. Excessive brick-walling, unnecessary noise reduction and odd EQ choices intended to suit car stereos and such.
