Why not fix it? The 20 year old basement air conditioner in our 2003 Winnebago Motorhome is enormous with two compressors. It uses a lot of power and is not suited for off-grid boondocking. It recently stopped working. So it's time to replace it with a high efficiency unit that draws much less power. Subscribe if you want to follow this project.

Here are the benefits:
(1) There's less voltage drop at higher voltages allowing you to use thinner (or lighter gauge) cables saving you money and simplifying the install
(2) The MPPT solar controller will start charging earlier in the day and continue charging later in the day when the incoming voltage is significantly higher than the battery system voltage. This increases your solar charging window throughout the day and will generate more power.
(3) Bonus Benefit: High voltage solar panels typically have a higher energy density than smaller panels. This allows you to produce more solar power with fewer panels. It will also simplifying your cabling.

More Winter RV Tips:
TIP 1: USE A LARGER LIGHT BULB INSIDE YOUR RV
For more heat, use a full-sized 40W - 60W light bulb plugged into a cord like this amzn.to/3vnJv67 Just plug it in and hang the bulb inside the compartment you want to heat (maybe where the water pump is).
TIP 2: USE A SPACE HEATER
You can also use a small space heater inside your RV. Turn the thermostat on low and open the cabinet doors under the sinks where your plumbing is.
TIP 3: POUR RV ANTI FREEZE INSIDE YOUR WASTE TANKS
Pour RV antifreeze inside your empty grey and black tanks. This will settle in the low part of the tank around the valves to prevent ice from forming around them.

*Product Review Disclosure*
LECTRIC E-Bikes provided the LECTRIC XP LITE e-Bikes for independent review and testing, but did not tell us what to say or do. Our comments, opinions and test results are own and are based solely on our own testing and evaluation. No documentation was provided on these pre-launch bikes. So I did my best to determine the specs. Check with LECTRIC for official specifications once the bikes are available for purchase.
