We start here in Part 1 with a look at air and the concept of partial pressures. From there we will look at nitrox, helium based gases and all the different issues related to our choices. Problems like oxygen toxicity, inert gas narcosis, HPNS and the effects of gas density.NOTE at 4:20 I forgot to say that the 5% oxygen (weird gas) becomes breathable at 40m, because the PpO2 is now 5ATA x 0.05 = 0.25. This is the same as breathing 25% oxygen at the surface.The second error you may have spotted is at 8:15. Slow tissues are those with a poor blood supply or LARGE amounts of fatty tissue (lipid).

Diving the Zanoni Richard Harris 2022-02-13 | Diving the Zanoni in 2022 with the Flinders University Underwater Club. The 338 ton composite barque Zanoni was built in Liverpool in 1865 and was 139 feet (44 metres) in length. It was built by W H Potter & Co and ownedby Thomas Royden & Sons and intended for the East India trade. The Zanoni is the most intact 19th century merchant sailing vessel located in South Australia.Unfortunately the day we dived the wreck (and the nearby barge), the visibility was only 3-4 metres. We were also visited by a friendly little Great White shark on the surface. Not much of the wreckage remains, but it is worth one dive
