This was re-issued recently in Vinyl and CD. available on Bandcamp. The back story to this is that just before the album was to be released, we had to change the lyrics from Bilbos Song’ taken from Tolkien’s The Hobbit’ to Seafarer because we were unable to get permission to use the poem. (Their lose). We very quickly had to rewrite the lyrics, hence Seafarer. Barrie and I bought this out as a duo three years ago. Now we have remixed it and Jade Starr kindly mastered this for us.

I do feel a little hypocritical writing these lyrics as I was once a furniture maker, but in my defence I feel I made furniture to last not end up in the landfill a year later. We are living in a disposable age where fashion dictates and last years style is replaced by new, whether it be clothes, cars or technology. Trees are cut down indiscriminately to produce cheap furniture, packing cases, decks, fences and for heat. The worst offenders are the large furniture factories just one Swedish furniture manufacturer uses 1% of the worlds wood and of course paper mills, who use a staggering 42% of the worlds lumber, much of it supported by illegal logging. Some wood species are now protected much like Ivory, Brazilian Rosewood favoured by luthiers for guitars is now a protected species and it won’t be long before Mahogany and Ebony follow.
