I have been washing clothes in the city at my mums previously but now I don’t have to leave home and make that 3hr trip. It works far better than I expected and so much faster than a washing machine. Even if you have a washing machine you could do super quick washes of underwear or tea towels in a fraction of the time it takes in a washing machine. If you go away from home on a little holiday I would definitely take it as it’s so small and light to pack. Also very #ecofriendly . Homemade Healthy Soda! Freelee The BananaGirl 2024-09-02 | Ginger bug juice soda Recipe: Let’s turn our juice into a delicious soda the safe way. This healthy fermented soda has no carbonic or phosphoric acid to ruin your teeth. First up you have to make one of these cute little ginger bugs. It’s super easy I promise. Ginger Bug:Fill a glass jar a bit bigger than this with 3 quarters water. Add a tablespoon of chopped up ginger. Add a tablespoon of sugar. Give it a stir, then loosely cap it or put some cheesecloth with a rubber band on top. And there you have your cute little bug. Then put it at room temperature for the next 2-5 days and every day you need to feed it by adding another tablespoon of ginger and sugar. Now your bug is alive with healthy bacteria. The bug should be foamy on top. Making the Soda:Strain half a cup of the bug water. You can give the ginger back to the bug. And add the bug water to your soft drink bottle. I recommend using plastic over glass for safety reasons, trust me on this. Then top it up with the store bought juice of your choice. I recommend apple or mango blends, not citrus. Then store at room temperature to ferment. Should be ready in a day or two. Feel bottle often. When the bottle feels hard you’re ready to go. Try it! We used all our money to buy 12 acres of rainforest in Queensland, Australia. We lived in a tent for the first few years. Initially we had no shower, so we bathed in the creek. We then made an outdoor shower connected to the creek. We had no toilet, so we made a composting toilet and attached a water sprayer. We had zero electricity until we got solar panels. We really wanted food freedom, so from the beginning we planted fruit trees, and a lot of them. I'm proud to say that we now have planted over 1,000. We used the bamboo from the land to build tons of primitive technology. In my late 30s I finally learned to make my own clothes, crochet, and one of my favorite skills using palm leaves from the land to weave into bags and mats. I was really growing, even my leg hair! But it hasn't all been wins. We've been set back by cyclones and by a one in 100 year flood. From poisonous tree sap that blistered me for weeks, anaphylaxis reaction to insect bites, to a cockroach making my ear its home in the middle of the night. But we are hooked. This is the life for us, and here we inspire you to also move off grid and grow your own food.

Human Honey Recipe! 🍯 #plantbasedhoney #veganhoney Freelee The BananaGirl 2024-08-25 | 🍯 Human Honey Recipe 🐝 * 2 cups apple juice which is about 6-8 apples. * 2 cup cane or white sugar* 1 dessertspoon of lemon juice * 1/2 cup or so of water to aid blending * optional knob of grated ginger or 2 chamomile tea bagsProcess: * In a medium saucepan, mix together apple juice, sugar, and lemon juice.* Heat the mixture over high until it reaches a rolling boil. Don’t burn the sugar. * Lower to medium and let it simmer for 45 minutes or maybe more but if you go too long you will get toffee! Stir it occasionally.For chamomile version * After 35 minutes of cooking, add optional ginger or 2 chamomile tea bags to the pot and let them steep for 10 minutes.* Keep testing consistency/thickness by swiping some honey on a cold plate. * Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the honey cool.* optional strain the honey through a fine-mesh sieve if desired.* When cool pour the honey into a jar or airtight container.Find out more about this lifestyle here:frugilife.com
