This tool-assisted speedrun by me aims to beat The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time while beating all of the dungeons, temples, and Ganon Trials in as little a time as possible. This category is widely known as "all temples", "all dungeons", "MST (Medallions/Stones/Trials)", and "no major skips". It is an improvement of 14 minutes and 27 seconds over my previous movie (youtube.com/watch?v=x97xdk3Fv7o)

This is the second public WIP of my MST TAS project which I started almost a year ago now. The project is progressing fairly well, although there can be periods with no activity. Since the previous MST TAS, two new major glitches were found featured in this video, being the Equip Swap glitch, which enables to equip the boomerang as adult, and the Dodongdoor wrong warp. Unfortunately, no convenient way has been found yet to either skip the boomerang, or either skip the switch that requires Ruto. In the current route, because we don't have nuts (its slot is used to store bugs), defeating Barinade as quickly as with nuts is not possible, because strangely, not using nuts to kill the jellyfishes adds a few seconds delay before Barinade can be stunned with the boomerang when the last phase of the battle is reached. Enjoy !!OoT - Ledge clip to Bottom of the Well as adult with a bombhomerfunky2021-05-20 | The advantage of this technique is that it does not require bombchus, in case they need to be saved.[FINISHED] TLoZ - Ocarina of Time - MST TAS WIP: Ganons castle as kidhomerfunky2021-04-11 | THE FULL TAS HAS BEEN FINISHED, WATCH IT HERE: youtube.com/watch?v=V2aY853wxww
The first public WIP of a project I started more than 3 months ago ! Many new discoveries motivated me to start a new MST TAS, and this video shows one among many reasons: the Quick Put Away glitch, which enables to complete the forest trial without a fire source. This skips fire arrows and so it opens much more routing possibilities. The child section is already different since you see that I already have bombs. The adult section is also going to use a brand new route thanks to many new tricks discovered. Stay tuned for more ! Enjoy !!OoT: Kakariko gate skip with 3 bombchus + comparisonhomerfunky2020-12-14 | My idea in this video is to save one bombchu in order to be able to perform vine clip in BotW to get both deku shield and hylian shield, because exactly 10 explosives are used until getting bombs as child: 4 from the gate skip hover, 2 to enter DC, and 4 for DC hover. With this, I was hoping to get past the gate with 3 bombchus and it worked ! The big downside is of course the big time loss it creates. Maybe getting both shields in BotW normally would already be faster than this or perhaps buying them would also be faster. More testings are needed. I already attempted earlier, in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=5tQi-_e8KeM, to save one bombchu by entering DC explosiveless. Although the time loss on that strat is lower, there is more daytime that passes, which likely makes getting to the courtyard too late to get Zelda's Lullaby after the Deku Tree wrong warp.Super Trump 64 BLJless in 5035 (TAS)homerfunky2020-11-10 | Ah ! Skipping longshot makes this strat usable in many more speedrunning categories. Yesterday, I posted a theory video of this strat (youtube.com/watch?v=lww6nAXgJAs) where I wanted to use double bomb push combined with HESS in order to clip through the wall and be out of bounds while having the door opened. Unfortunately, I was not able to get in practice. After discussions with other members of the community, Dannyb suggested me to use a hammer combined with triple bomb push to have more margin for the trick, and it turns out that it worked ! After that, the first idea I got was to hover all the way up to the bow platform and closing the door, but Scurty showed me an old strat from ZFG where he instead uses hookshot jump on the chest instead of hovering. At the time ZFG made the video, it was only theoretical because there was no known way to get out of bounds near the door, which is what I got in this video. Once the door is closed, it is needed to void out to reload the room and spawn the stalfos fight to get the bow. The out of bounds clip to void can be made with the hammer as well (which don't use explosives).
At the end, the strat should save more than a minute. As for bomb count, in a TAS setup, it should use 1 more bomb than the classic route. In speedruns, it should use 2 more bombs than the classic route (because no ground jump in blocks room from doors).
Lastly, during my testings for bomb push, we can highlight that I also almost got the out of bounds to work using double bomb push (1.04 units away): youtu.be/Z4w1-YpeUtI which would save one explosive. Moreover, I also almost got the trick to work with triple bomb push without hover boots, but I don't think it's possible (it was roughly 2-3 units away).
Special thanks to Dannyb for the hammer recoil idea. Special thanks to Scurty and ZFG for ideas and small improvements made in this strat. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Any% TAS in 6:37.33homerfunky2020-09-05 | Higher resolution encode is available here: youtube.com/watch?v=Y0Ug21yMZH4

This TAS improves the previous any% run by 16.94 seconds (youtube.com/watch?v=ndWTfeJ5yKo). Time was saved thanks to a new way of achieving credits using the "Stale Reference Manipulation" glitch (SRM) for the game to execute controller 1 and 3 inputs as MIPS instructions, which is known as Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE). Other small improvements were also made thanks to faster movements and better luck manipulation. For technical details about SRM and ACE, I advise you to check these videos:

But as you may imagine, it's not even faster than the classic route, but not by too much neither. Plus, it requires Din's Fire and Longshot which are not always available items in runs.Forest Temple key route comparisonhomerfunky2020-07-22 | Because current MST route and perhaps other categories take farore's wind, I thought of some strats to make this item useful to save time in some spots, making it not only useful for equip swap. The clip on the left is from my MST TAS, and the clip on the right is the route I'm trying. Here, I tried to see if taking the floormaster key is faster than the classic route. However, it's still necessary to fight the stalfos in the bow room, but using farore's wind, we can fight them and get back to the top to make the second part of the fight and skip navigating to the down part of the room. Unfortunately, we can see that this route is about 8 seconds slower than the classic route.Spirit Temple key skip comparisonhomerfunky2020-07-05 | Again another comparison ! As usual, the clip on the left is from my MST TAS, and the clip on the right is what I wanted to test.
This one is for a strat I thought of to skip the small key in spirit temple + the armored guy fight, and I got everything to work. In addition, I found a new BK skip while making the TAS, which is explosiveless and saves therefore 2 bombs ! As you can see, the new strat uses at the end the same amount of bombs as the route used in the previous TAS, which sounds very good. However, this new route has many super precise tricks. The HESS hover is not that hard to do, but after that, stuffs get severly complicated: the low height ground clip in the beamos room is very precise, because there's a tiny bit of ground that is out of bounds, but super close to a wall, so I had to find a very good angle that would enable me to land there without getting back in-bounds. After that, the BK skip is mega precise: first of all, clipping inside the status requires a very precise positioning and a well-timed backflip. After that, the sidehop with jumplash barely reached the loading zone, it took me many tries to get all of this done. I am impressed that all these crazy stuff ended up being 30 seconds faster. It's definitely a great improvement for future TASes !
By the way, I used the practice ROM to make the clip on the right because it enables me to see collisions out of bounds. Without this revolutionary tool, it'd be very painful to make all of this, so big thanks to its developers !!DC entrance comparisonhomerfunky2020-06-10 | This is another comparison that aims to time the difference between using an explosive to enter in Dodongo's Cavern as child or not. The clip on the left was taken from SwordlessLink's MST TAS: youtube.com/watch?v=MHXFj8N8lbQ While current MST routes don't get bombs as child, I think it's a good option to save bombchus for long hovers in some areas such as spirit hover, fire hover, or forest trial (if we use quick put away glitch to skip fire arrows). The reason for this comparison is because of tight bombchu count after getting the 10 bombchus in Bottom of the Well to get to bombs: 4 bombchus are required to hover and get past the guard gate, 2 more to enter DC (rock + entrance wall), and 4 more for DC hover. So all bombchus are used. However, it is possible to enter in DC without explosives by using this trick Skater found: youtube.com/watch?v=qERxiPcgdtc . The idea is to use this saved bombchu immediately in BotW to get both hylian shield and deku shield, to avoid buying them, as they cost a good amount of time.SM64 - All coins in Whomps Fortress but Mario gets 5% faster every time he collects a coin (TAS)homerfunky2020-06-07 | Kaze missed making dumb meme games, and me, I missed making SM64 TASes, so there it is ! This is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun aiming to complete the forest temple 100% as fast as possible. As usual, 100% here includes map, compass and boss key, but not all permanent flags.
For this one, I "cheated" a little bit because I RBA'ed the quiver beforehand to avoid an annoying hover in the stalfos fight, but the bow is still taken from its source, as 100% requires it. The bow is the only fast way to defeat stalfos from distance, although weirdshot combined with remote bomb drop works too, but would be much slower and would need more explosives than the hover method. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any way to get out of bounds in the upper part near the vines. That would enable to reach the stalfos without needing a distance attack item or hover.

I hope you enjoy this one too !OoT - MST 1.0 vs MST 1.1/1.2 comparisonhomerfunky2020-04-12 | This comparison aims to time the difference between MST 1.0 and MST 1.1/1.2 for a TAS (which would be equivalent to N64 MST). All clips on the left are from my MST TAS, and the clips on the right are from my experiences, except for the BotW part, which comes from Tharo's Ganonless TAS: youtu.be/i0WWuiOnT_4?t=412
The motive to use 1.0 for the MST TAS was because of the blank A glitch in BotW which can only be done on 1.0. At the time I was making the TAS, the fastest way to get to the bombchus on 1.1/1.2 was to use a glitch called Ocarina Dive: youtube.com/watch?v=BKYg87dkDc0. As you may expect, getting ocarina is very slow, and so it'd probably be slower to use 1.1/1.2 at that time. However, 1.1/1.2 can take advantage of a glitch called Bomb OI where it's possible to play ocarina using a bomb a cutscene item, making wrong warps faster by a bit each time. From the video, using bomb OI instead of bottle OI saves roughly 6 seconds each time, but uses 1 bomb.
It is now clear from this comparison that 1.1/1.2 are the fastest versions for a TAS. Moreover, some route changes can make 1.1 the fastest version, because it has the advantage of Bongo Bongo quick kill (which works on 1.0 and 1.1): youtube.com/watch?v=TigI3N3KLsI but requires bomb, and so, a route change.231 skip comparisonhomerfunky2020-04-11 | I made this video to see how much slower explosiveless 231 skip would be (on the right). Unfortunately, I only realized after making both TAS that not skipping 231 on the right would be faster by roughly 4 seconds (but it'd also require to do a super precise ground clip: youtube.com/watch?v=9xsH59ZJP40) The 231 skip on the left side requires not to have a sword however.

This TAS improves the previous any% run by 8 minutes and 49 seconds (youtube.com/watch?v=uCO0jU66g3g). The idea interested me and tried multiple times without success. Today, I tried again and realized something interesting that I explain in the video. Unfortunately, this method requires a fairy to revive you, unless you megasidehop in a loading zone and continue after the game over screen. I don't think it's possible to get a megaflip, but megasidehop really looks possible to do without a fairy.Master of Time - Dins Fire Skiphomerfunky2020-01-21 | I was thinking it could be possible to skip using din's fire to light up all torches here which leads to the end of the game, and it turns out it is possible with not too many items ! This is tool-assisted, but it might be possible to do it in real time too. As you can notice, it seems that all torches don't even need to be lighten up for the door to open, but more testings need to be done to see which torches need to be activated. If we can reduce the number of required arrows down to 20, we wouldn't need the quiver upgrade, which would also save some time in a full run. The required items for this setup to be done in a full run are the following: - Goron Bracelet (required to the one key in Temple of Agility to get the bow) - Bow (which is required to get fire arrows) - Fire arrows - Quiver upgrade (because 20 arrows are not enough to light up all torches) - Magic (to shoot fire arrows) - Ocarina + Zelda's lullaby (to get magic) - Hookshot (to get to the Divine Path)
Master of Time is a ROM-hack which is in demo so far, and made by don camilo that you can download here: youtube.com/watch?v=Rre4GUm7Z_IOot: Improved fire hover (27 explosives)homerfunky2019-10-10 | This is a proof of concept of a strategy I've been thinking of recently to save explosives for fire hover in order to make this wonderful strat possibly usable in a TAS. I'm very happy that I got it to work !
The new strat is that I use a well-placed fairy and a bomb to get ISG out of bounds thanks to this method: youtube.com/watch?v=iYD2NHIEio0 and consequently, avoiding hovering all the way up to the ceiling.
I hacked my health up to a big number at the beginning in order to have enough time to do the strat, and also hacked it during the Darunia cutscene because I was too lazy to loose health there.
I think it could be possible to save one explosive at the beginning of the hover, but I'm not sure. Also, it's still unsure whether or not taking a heart container will be required to have enough time, because I used roughly 30 seconds of the timer, but I think that using bombchus for all hovers before loading the maze room, and doing the fairy setup faster may be sufficient to pull it off with 3 hearts !
Unfortunately, 27 explosives is still too much, as the bomb limit is 20, and bombchus are really precious, but for a 1 minute save, it could be worth.TLoZ: OoT - Kakariko Village Freerun (TAS)homerfunky2019-09-20 | Re-Records: 15,305 Enjoy !TLoZ - Ocarina of Time - Shadow Temple 100% TAShomerfunky2019-04-21 | This run is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun that completes the shadow temple by taking hover boots and all gold skulltulas, as well as getting the map, compass and boss key, although they are not taken in 100% speedruns. The method is still roughly 8 seconds slower (youtube.com/watch?v=FgGUS4nrppc), but saves 3 bombchus because there is no need to use a bombchu to get up, and it's not worth using a bombchu to HESS on the seam since we are closer of the ledge, and finally, we could use the hookshot at the entrance of the shadow temple instead of using a bombchu to megaflip. But using this method makes Link have 1 health too much which is a problem for the later cutscene skip, but we can already loose 1/2 heart at the BK skip, but for the 1/2 remaining, I don't know where it can be lost other than the boss room (which is slow), so it may cost time. Basically, using the Hookshot jump method combined with this Voidless Boat Skip would save 1 bombchu and could additionally save roughly 2 seconds. So over 2 seconds can be saved in the full TAS.
Concerning the MST TAS, someone said me on TASVideos that it would be possible to wrong warp from Fire Temple to Ganon's Tower and skip the Ganondorf fight. I don't know if this can be faster, but it will significantly change the route as Adult. I may compare this too, because it seems to have potential, but I'm not 100% sure about the route that should be used in this case. Also, he told me that maybe using the V1.1 of the game would be more worth because of the OI later in the run, this also needs to be compared.Diffusion en direct de homerfunkyhomerfunky2017-07-12 | ...DC Switch Early Explosiveless and Glitchlesshomerfunky2017-07-09 | I made this theory possible: youtube.com/watch?v=xN3UI9DE5V0 The jump strat I did was also used in my MST TAS in the Light Trial. It is an improvement of 22 minutes and 15 seconds over Swordless Link's previous movie (youtube.com/watch?v=MHXFj8N8lbQ)
It was made on an emulator, using frame-by-frame shooting, savestates, and rerecords to overcome things like reaction time and human error. As such, it is purely a form of entertainment, and is not designed to show skill.

I'd like to thank a lot the TAS and speedrun community of this game for some tips, tricks, glitches and especially the route used to complete the objective. I thank a lot Aktan for this wonderful encode !

Because of the new 1.0 route, I had to restart again the TAS, so it took a while to get there. This part shows a bit of the TAS I'm making right after the BoTW reset. When I tried to get more speed, I managed to get 1400 of speed (plus, without any pause !), but I can't get the bridge jump to work...SM64: Last Impact 0 Stars TAS in 6:0645homerfunky2016-10-27 | This video is a Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS) made by me. SM64: Last Impact is a "Super Mario 64" ROM hack made by Kaze Emanuar that you can download here: youtube.com/watch?v=JG4PCVfu4qo
The version 1.0 of the rom has been used because I already started the TAS when he introduced the version 1.1. I tried anyway to playback the m64 file on the version 1.1, but it desynced right after the first cutscene.
Sub 6 minutes is probably possible.
