When it go it back, it was grinding, but only when you turn all the way to the left. Two shops looked at it and couldn't see any grinding from the tire or wheel. It was actually shifting the 4WD on one side when you turn left! Think of it like driving on asphalt in a tight circle while the 4x4 shift is in progress...grind city! It was a vacuum leak. Ford... Rain gutter tricks to handle desert downpours without erosion or flooding briansmobile1 2022-06-01 | It's Wild Card Wednesday. This is an automotive channel. This relates to the garage I built with 1700 square feet of roof surface surrounded by soil that could best be described as brown flour. The building also happens to be in an area that doesn't get much rain, but when it does rain in the Utah desert it can flash flood vehicles away in a storms that only last 10 minutes. If you don't build and landscape to handle that you can be liable for damage to neighboring properties and the erosion can cause foundation damage over time. On three corners of the building the drainage goes to water absorbing and soil retaining grass, but on the fourth corner it's gravel substrate sloping to a property line. I wanted the roof and down pipes to look uniform, but managing erosion as much as possible without overflowing the rain gutter or over weighing it either. To that end I installed a stand pipe that acts like a stand pipe in a fuel tank, but backwards. The fourth down pipe only drains when brief heavy downpours begin to overfill the gutter trough if at all. To compensate for the excessive drainage load to the other end of the rain gutter I installed a concrete basin to receive into a 4" pipe that carries water away from the building far enough to go around it where it can pool against the grass low enough to act as a buffer till the water can be absorbed, but low enough that it couldn't back up and flood the building. On the other side I installed water barrels to hold desert downpour water and release it slowly to allow the grass time to soak it in. In this downpour they were over filled. Fortunately the barrels are surrounded by grass so the run off doesn't damage anything.

Cracked Ecotec Manifold Fustercluck O2 Sensor Stuck! briansmobile1 2022-05-10 | The oxygen sensor shield melted due to oxygen from the engine compartment entering through a cracked exhaust manifold. This problem of cracking manifolds is common on the Chevy Equinox & GMC Terrain of the same 2013 2014 years that has the same 2.4 liter engine, but a different exhaust manifold in some cases. The Chevy Captiva was made to be a rental car in the United States according to the parts guy at the Chevy dealership. They were never sold off the lot direct to consumers. It's European counterpart the Holden Captiva has a number of subtle differences like fuel pump access panels below the seat and no storage like the Chevy version. The US market got the Equinox that is very similar, but has the Oxygen/Airfuel sensor mounted in a different location further down and back. When you can't remove the oxygen sensor, it makes the shield very difficult to remove. If you don't remove the exhaust shield you can't remove the 13 bolts from the broken manifold to replace it. You're trapped! The trick is to bend the passenger side corner of the shield up at 30 degrees and lift that side first. That's way to much to say in 15 seconds, but You're welcome!
