First remove the nozzles, second undo the chuck nut, third push the old needle through from the back to the front, (make sure not to let the trigger come out), fourth push the new needle through from the back, put the new nozzles in, push the needle up against the new nozzles, tighten the chuck nut, and done! Does your airbrush clog? 💨🚫 Spens Painting 2024-09-01 | Hello nerds 🤓 Do you struggle with clogged airbrushes? Here’s my tips for avoiding the dreaded clogs: 1- bigger needle - using a .3 or .4 needle gives you so much more flexibility to use thicker paints without them clogging the airbrush2- improve workflow - get into the habit of giving the airbrush a rinse through with cleaner AS SOON AS you’re doing with a colour, just spray out any excess paint, add a few drops of cleaner, swizzle with a brush, and spray that out3- less paint in the airbrush - the longer paint sits in the airbrush the more time it has to dry in there and form clogs, so don’t over fill it! 4- lube it up - before you put any paint in the airbrush use rinse some cleaner or thinner for whatever paint medium your working with (e.g. white spirits for oils/enmals) through the airbrush, this helps to lube up the internals with less chance of paint getting attached inside5- NEVER LEAVE PAINT IN THE AIRBRUSH - if you follow number 2 well this won’t happen but the biggest sin with airbrushing is leaving paint in the airbrush for time. You’re just asking for the paint to dry and clog in there, and that means long cleaning sessions Hope the tips help you! Let me know if you have any other airbrush questions! Read on…Step 1: prime it in black, any will doStep 2: create a zenithal highlight using Tamiya Flat White. Try to keep the paint smooth and maintain a high level of contrast between the shadows and highlights Step 3: filter the model with GW Blood Angels Red contrast paint through the airbrush. Build up slowly, to maintain the values you created in the previous stepStep 4: paint in the other details and apply any transfers. WAIT FOR THEM TO DRY. I didn’t 😬Step 5: give the whole model a coat with AK Interactive Ultra Matte varnish. Paint should flow out of droppers easier. Instead use a toothpick to poke down into the neck and clear the blockage. It’s probably a bit too vigorous for small parts like heads and hands, but great for armour pieces or sanding back after joining big parts together. In terms of speed it’s definitely faster than hand sanding and less effort.
