There's quite a bit of compression artifacting on this- this was recorded using the built in recorder and clearly it's not amazing, but at least it gets the points across.
The mic quality also leaves a bit to be desired but I'm sure it's Quest 2 quality for the most part.
Overall: good headset, suffers from the same things the Quest 2 does which is mainly the adjust IPD is dogshit and it's not the most comfortable headset on the market.
There's a bit more aberration on the lenses with a tiny bit of pupil swim, probably things Facebook corrected on the Quest 2 with software.
I only got the Neo 3 not the Neo 3 Link or Pro, so the strap on this thing is worse than you'd get if you ordered a Link later on.
I've also yet to figure out how to get 90hz to work as their Unity SDK is a little rough and doesn't appear to actually change the refresh rate on the headset.
No audio on this one, S&Box doesn't output audio yet on the deck anyway so it'd just have been me swearing.
Would've probably turned on some music on the ingame wristmenu radio if it wasn't for Youtube's music recognition system...
I'm still extremely impressed.
I'm using the official Oculus Link cable for this, with a little C to A adapter at the end of it plugged into a USB 3.0 port on my computer.
Raw recording uploaded straight to youtube after pulling it off the Focus 3.
Testing my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter with my Focus 3, capturing it through a cheap HDMI USB 2.0 capture card set to 720p capture.
This setup is captured through OBS, meaning I can livestream this view directly.
The cheap capture card is probably what introduced the audio delay btw, casting is generally flawless, with the occasional compression artifacts.
In this case Climbey (Which I do plan on bringing to the store later) and a VR port of Receiver 1 by Wolfire Games.
No PCVR use in this video, it's not a thing my devkit was capable of with the current firmware.
Hope my impressions are useful to someone.

And yes I know the microphone seems to be leaning towards the right channel, no idea why mine's doing that but it's how it recorded.
Will probably do another VR headset ramble video soon covering the newer headsets that came out recently! :D

This is just a little side project I've been working on for about a month or so now, in true opensource fashion I've made the github fork for it completely public, with some test builds published to it as well, here: github.com/ShadowBrian/7DFPS/releases

Just me playing through the new Quest demo as fast as I can without going for my usual skips.

Hey folks, haven't posted in a bit, this is "Game Sunday" from last Sunday, this is a thing me and a couple other people from the Climbey community do every Sunday.
I have some more footage from Climbey that day, will see if it's interesting enough to put up as well.
If so, you'll see that pop up soon. :)
As you can see my new CPU seems to keep up quite well, it's probably not at peak performance compared to most 3800X's because it's in a very old and kind of budget Gen1 B350 board, but it seems to pull its weight alright paired with my 1070.
Specs:
GTX 1070
Ryzen 7 3800X
16GB DDR4 2666Mhz
PS: Sorry for the weird editing, I'm a bit rusty on that...

The trailer up was getting really old, this is a fresh one.
GPU is usually fine though, and it does seem to go above 120 a lot.
I never noticed it being so low mid-game however, because 120hz is awesome. :)
I need to get more maps in for a proper test but this is the New TTT Minecraft City map and later in the video there's some dollhouse one too which ran at 144hz ~90% of the time. :)
Sorry for the video length, kind of lost track of time given that it was unscripted and unfiltered thoughts haha.
PC Specs:
Ryzen 7 1700x
Gigabyte GTX 1070
Playing Still Alive (included in the release zip), Megalovania and Zelda, though the Zelda one is pretty sketchy, I think it might have too many notes playing at once to sound good.
I was playing using Knuckles controllers and a wireless Vive Pro on a GTX 1070/Ryzen 1700x system.
Definitely has its problems in its current state but the guy is actively working on it here:

Apologies for the long video, I'm still getting a hang of this editing thing, prefer raw footage, but I got rid of some of the loading times at least!
I actually forgot to put the cover back onto my microphone for the first half of the video so my apologies for the shitty plosives in the first half.
I cut out a bunch of stuff because it's sort of generic footage but BettyFuckingWhite (Aka Karugi) was also recording and put up a video too.

As you can see, it works fine with knuckles.
Could be better if it had native support though, since grabbing is just a toggle button which isn't ideal, if it had a "hold grip to hold gun" feature I could switch it to capsense based, which would feel a lot better.
Quality ended up a little iffy because of resolution mis-match between my phone footage and my computer footage, probably won't be a problem in future vids.

I didn't do any ingame footage of them because they'll just basically look and perform exactly the same as EV2 did which I already have a whole bunch of videos on.
Just some random Climbey footage, I haven't put up a Climbey video in a while and was playing with some regulars (people with 100-500 hours in Climbey), figured I'd record it :)
If you want to try this yourself with vive wands or whatever here: github.com/pushrax/OpenVR-SpaceCalibrator
To do any of this with lighthouse-based controllers (like the knuckles are) you'll need 2 lighthouse base stations (at this time ~140 dollars or so each), some Steam controller dongles (fairly cheap available on Steam) converted to work like SteamVR receiver dongles, and the actual controllers to use (vive wands are ~140 each too.)
But if you've got all that it'll pretty much work with any headset! :)
Figured I'd revisit a couple of the things I did with the old EV1.3 knuckles to see how they held up in comparison, so far its been much better! :)
Here's some Lone Echo intro footage. :)
Skyrim VR still crashes on startup for me, I've checked and it's a knuckles issue because with the wands it works right away, so I reported it. Will take a while to get fixed though.
People requested this so I delivered! Hope to do a Skyrim VR one soon.
This also shows a bit of the SteamVR input mapping stuff for the knuckles to swap around touchpad and joystick stuff, not that it worked great as you will see.
