Fighting a slew of tough foes tested the Wardens to their limits. And just as they are about to strike the final blow to their foe, he surprised them by summoning flames from the sky - intent to take his enemies with him to a fiery end.
It took teamwork, assistance from their reinforcements, and a good amount of luck for them to escape the fast-spreading fire as it makes its way to the casks of oil stored in the warehouse while a persistent bandit captain terrorized one of the party members on the ground floor. As they exit the burning building, a series of explosions threatened to level the entire structure and the entire neighborhood.
Impending doom seems inevitable when an arcane dark implosion from inside the warehouse snuffed out the raging flames and put a stop to the inferno - leaving the structures intact in an eerie silence.
The enemy the Wardens presumed dead is still alive! And the claims over jurisdiction to interrogate him ensues, putting the party at the center to amicably resolve the situation - to detain the prisoner at a neutral side of the political divide. Parading the prisoner through the town, the party doesn't seem to notice or care about the spectacle they're creating in front of a lot of onlookers both curious and sinister.
Meanwhile, a party member sneaked away from the unwanted attention while another is unconscious.

Summoned by the Duchess of Daggerford and the Full Council, the Midnight Hunters received a commendation from the Duchess and the Council (with some protestations) ratified their recognition as the Wardens of Daggerford - with a promise of a reward.
The Wardens are updated on the effects of their exploits for Daggerford Town, Delimbyr Vale, and their increased prominence (and notoriety - depending on who sees them) since they arrived on the scene. They are immediately asked to assist the City to restore order at the Ports in light of the newly established trade route with the far lands of Kara-Tur
The Wardens stumbled upon trouble at a Shipyard / Warehouse which devolved into a long and drawn-out fight. On the upper floors of the warehouse, they are surprised by an old foe with the intent to ensure everyone ends up in an incendiary conclusion.

The Temple Library is a treasure trove of knowledge on a variety of subjects. What awaits the intrepid adventurers in there, is an accumulation of ages-old knowledge and by-product guardian designed to prevent unfettered access to potentially forbidden lore. The fight with the wax golem inadvertently destroyed parts of the library - thus awakening the true guardian of knowledge.
After two very tough battles, the Midnight Hunters barely defeated the entity, who with its last full measure of devotion teleported the hunters to a distant place, incapacitated. Upon recovery of their senses, the spell returned them back to the temple in Daggerford, a month LATER.
The adventurers' attempt to discover what had transpired in that lapsed month is an epic adventure on its own - full of herbology discoveries, clearing out the regular attacks on their farm, and ensuing misdemeanors that in effect paralyzed the entire town's defenders (most likely).
Meantime, a direct trade route to a faraway region was established by arcane means and this drastically changes the status quo and potentially has far-reaching consequences.

The party survived another night - albeit separated with lots of mischiefs, investigative work, and of course, surviving unseen menace. Morning arrives with the entire party converging on their farm to strategize their next move.
They started interviewing the squatter folks living near their farm and uncovered an old story from long ago - about the original owners of the farmlands - the Holbrook family. Fate has been both kind and cruel to the family as they have made a considerable fortune there but their son fell in love with the daughter of a highborn noble family in town.
As usual in tales as old as time, the noble family objected to their relationship and then one day, the Holbrook family disappeared. With their disappearance, the farm and business fell into disrepair and neglect, and soon, strange occurrences and manifestations were witnessed at the abandoned property.
As the Midnight Hunters investigate and checked in with both the Lord Marshal and the Commander, they noticed their Warlock's familiar (named Timmy) generated both awe and mystique among the knights and paladin.
Acting on a hunch and having a letter for admittance from the Lord Marshal for contingency, the party pulled off a grand hustle to gain entrance into the heavily guarded Temple of Lathander, charmed and awed their way to find a hidden entrance to the Temple Library.
What awaits them there, however, is an accumulation of ages-old knowledge and by-product guardian designed to prevent unfettered access to potentially forbidden lore.

Spending a night at their newly acquired property was cut short when the party saw thick mists approaching from the riverside. Beating a hasty retreat, some of the party member felt a prickling in their mind as if, something or someone is probing. Then they saw a shambling corpse approach them as they were escaping. Quickly dispatching the lone zombie, the team was surprised as the zombie called out their names and a promise to see them again, soon.
Perturbed, the party made their way back into town, and into their own mischief. Only this time, they all realize there is a price for each of their own mischief - costing time, money, and even trust among the Midnight Hunter members. And trust is needed as the sense of approaching menace looms in the town of Daggerford.

The party quickly uses their time after arriving back in Daggerford to replenish their supplies, restock their spell components and improve their gear - knowing full well danger is never far behind, literally.
Complex spell components are hard to come by, and Karl finally got his hand on a Gilded 'Bunga Raya'. As usual, the party splits as soon as they find the opportunity to do so (one can almost hear the DM groan).
However, a chance encounter and terrible rolls by a Priest of Lathander enabled two Midnight Hunters to gain access to the Temple to do daylight reconnoiter of the complex.
Concurrently, Karl Zuma sweet-talked his way to convince Nibs to participate in his dastardly plans and even got him to sign a mischievous form to put his plans in motion. Later, several members of the group discovered similar forms in their hands, innocently enough.

Exploring the cave alone, Vincent discovered traces of magic somewhere there. Suddenly, he felt an incoming sense of dread approaching, so he hurried himself to escape … whatever it was. Casting a decoy spell, his ruse revealed shadowy tendrils attacking the decoy, easily crushing the nearby stalactites as they hunt for prey.
Reunited with the rest of the Midnight Hunters, they agreed to return to Daggerford together. As they made their way to the base camp, they discovered fresh tracks which upon investigation led them to assist a hunter, under attack by wild wolves. Coming to his aid, they quickly eradicate the threat.
Later, upon arriving back in town and reporting to the Lord Marshal and the Commander on their achievements and discoveries, they were delighted to know their previous plans for a farm had been approved by the City Council. However, they can't shake the feeling they had made formidable enemies … and the group dynamic has also shifted to show each other's motivations and machinations….
Apparently, recognitions, rewards, and power have their own dark seduction.

Betrayed and played out, the Hunters went after their adversary to save their captured ally - the halfling Nibs.
Footprints led them towards the cave entrance they went to days earlier. As several of the Hunters stealthily scouted ahead, a scene of the massacre and a lone captive unfolds before them. Before long, as the rest of the party caught up - someone inadvertently (again) cast an anti-magic area effect spell (up to 100 feet). Fortunately, they were quick to dispel that spell - without resorting to slapping the fumbling caster.
This is followed by a mad dash and a lot of spell-slinging to defeat their adversaries. One of them, a hulking canine humanoid was spotted carrying the mutilated corpse of the loup-garou. As the battle reached its peak, chains of dark shadowy tendrils shot out from the cave mouth - mangling and mutilating anything that it came into contact with. More chaos ensues

For precautionary measures, they left two from their group - a trading merchant and a cavalier at the camp before the main group made their way to the fields.
Arriving there, it was immediately apparent something's amiss - equipment and gears were left in haste, barrels half filled with tar was strewn on the cold frozen ground. When one of the party stumbled upon bodies frozen in ice, the group immediately suspected foul play. True enough, the attack came relentlessly and suddenly….

The hunters fought their way to the werewolves' den, easily dispatching the pack of winter-hungry wolves outside the cave entrance and the guarding riderless worgs inside the entrance.
Exploring the labyrinthine cavern systems, the party stumbled upon two werewolves and discovered the passageways are trapped. Nonetheless, they split the party - one group encountered a familiar face who is just as confused as to how he made it there, while the other group found the feeding room for the pack.
Almost at the same time, the attack came to both split groups - the pack of werewolves can smell the stench of intruders into their den, while the other group was attacked by a moving, wet and shambling mound of … amalgamation of things….
