Film deterioration and storage conditions can damage analog video, like VHS and LaserDisc. These signals will eventually die and as they get closer to death, the quality of video will worsen, this is why color-correction (and even upscaling, worst comes to worst) is needed to preserve media.Discotek takes preservation very seriously and is constantly churning out the best releases for anime, usually combining things from various releases into one. Their Urusei Yatsura release uses raw JPBD footage with stylized and corrected AnimEigo subtitles, which makes it the definitive release. For the “Extra” credits, they snuck in color-corrected creditless LD openings/endings on the side (cropped for your viewing pleasure).
