Stable Diffusion XL produces much cleaner, higher resolution images than previous iterations. It's so much fun to dig around in there and see what you can make it spit out. :) The "animation" effect was created by travelling between too similar text prompts and letting SDXL create what was in between. most of the text prompts were similar to: "hyper-real, Norman Rockwell, Rene Magritte, blank wall, close-up portrait, surprised baby"

Apologies for the wonky audio. Used three different mics and none of them were particularly good. I'll try to improve that next time.

Make the holes the right size. Iterate until you find a size that is just big enough to hold the magnet - maybe even slightly smaller if your material is soft (like wood).
Get some Gel super glue (CA glue). It's much easy to keep neat and clean this way.
Use the magnets as a tool. Use a small stack of magnets to help press a single magnet into a hole.
Use the installed magnets to help orient the other magnets if you lose track of which way is up
Here are the magnets I am using in this video:
amazon.com/gp/product/B092MCQ3NL
and the glue:
amazon.com/gp/product/B004YEN37K
Measurements I used for these magnets
Round holes are 2.94mm
Rectangular holes are 2.94x2.84mm They are a little shorter than they are wide.

Sorry about the audio at the end. I'm using some new software on my phone to make these real quick. I have a new microphone coming too that should help even out the levels.

tl;dw version:
* Use Auto Orient to find a good orientation
* Select Light Supports and generate Auto Supports
* Use Island Detector with Detailed setting
* Select Light Supports, then Add Support to All Islands button
* Support remaining Island manually using light and mini supports
* Add anchoring supports with Medium settings near bottom of model
* Back to Light settings for more anchoring throughout model
* Sanity check and extra mini supports on problem areas

This is basically a test run for the actual plants. Now I will go in and fine-tune the shapes of those fronds and make several variations. After that is cleanup, sculpting, and details in ZBrush

A collection of rotting stumps and logs created from photo-scanned source files. Most of these were game-ready models with the fine details in the textures, not the mesh. I used some tricks in ZBrush to get that texture detail into the models instead. Then I did some touch-ups and sculpting in a few problem areas.

These symmetrical Fleuron things turned out awesome! All the little details come through in the resin prints, and the big PLA print is a real eye-catcher. The fractal formulae that I use to make these can churn out a gazillion variations. I enjoy rummaging through them all looking for the juiciest shapes.
They'll be occasional Work In Progress vids like this one popping up here, too.
I'm mimicking putting on the base coat here. I plan to do some more experiments then maybe make another video to show what I've learned.
Model is by RN Estudio, amazing mini makers! patreon.com/rnestudio/posts
Software is Oculus Medium used on my Oculus Quest.
Several of the models in this vid are from my Fractal Forest collection. The Kickstarter is done but you can still pre-order. Over 60 fantasy plants and fractal artifacts to 3D print. don-whitaker.itch.io/fractal-forest
This vertical video is an experiment - trying making quick vids with my phone. I know many people hate vertical vids, but it feels pretty natural if you are watching on phone. At any rate - so far it's been a big hassle to process and upload the clips. Might try some more with a different approach, but it certainly didn't save me any time on this attempt.
I'm creating a collection of 3D-printable plants, trees, and props for tabletop gaming. These are fantasy and sci-fi plants that could easily fit into your Warhammer, D&D, Pathfinder, or Star Wars campaigns. The plants and props are collected around a Fractal theme with swirling limbs, repeating patterns, and intricate details. Many of the props were even created using fractal math. Exotic, organic shapes extracted from the fractal multiverse.

I also built a platform to serve as the taxi using an old matchbox, some push pins, a bottlecap and some wire. I'll have a playable build up within the next few days. Check my Patreon page for more info about the project.

This video was captured on Oculus Quest. Shows the first attempt at making a physics-based bee flight. Going for 'wonky and floaty' feeling. The bee needs to carry the Taxi, so I'm testing a swinging cargo cube. You steer by tiling your hand and pressing button to apply thrust (flap wings eventually). Already fun to buzz around. :)

Double Pendulums make the strangest patterns and rhythms. VoC even has an option to add musical notes that are generated by the motions of the weights. I slapped on a mirror effect because symmetry is cruise control for cool. :)

Gravity Garden is a science fiction themed farming simulation. You're in charge of your own private island, floating through an alien universe full of bizarre plants and quirky critters.
This is an open-world simulation of plants that live and grow according to the conditions in their environment. Plant your garden in any soil - no preset plots or rigid, square fields.
It's a sandbox experience where you are free to do as you please. Work towards a series of increasingly difficult achievements or simply grow a beautiful garden and admire the view - it's up to you.

I made the music while learning to use a new VR app called EXA - the infinite instrument. Amazing software. Recorded all of these loops by playing virtual instruments - after I built them from thin air. []-)

The images are from my "Deep Style" image folder. I like to use the DeepArt.io site to look for interesting effects. I make dozens of combinations of the same starting image using sorts of styles - art history, patterns, nature photos. Anything I can find. I like to see what sort of abstract shapes i can find.

I talk about the look and feel of the game: new hands, new skyboxes, harvesting fruits, and lots of islands to explore.
