I mean, when you look at the other 2 arkham games out at this time, and glance over at Origins there just doesn’t seem to be a lot new.With Asylum, we had a game come out of the blue and let you become Batman unlike anything else before it (and really after it but we can save that thought for another video). Then just 2 years later ,Arkham City shows up feeling twice as big in every way with twice as many characters, twice as many bosses, twice as many riddler trophies, twice the area and so, so many joker herpes! As far as a sequel goes, City was undeniably raising the bar and, at a time when people wanted games to push their boundaries on every release (which, well I think we we see how listening to THAT went) when Origins came out another 2 years after arkham city and DIDNT quadruple formula, uh the Gamer were pissed. but, it was only after marathoning this game over the weekend and reflecting on this absurd decade long dunk session that I realized, guys….I think you convinced yourselves that the coolest shit ever fucking sucks.Arkham Origins IS a Great GameNow before I get put onto the hood of your batmobile I’ll say this from the jump: There is no bad arkham game. In just the first few hours 400k people were playing on PC alone so this game is easily sitting at a million players cross platform right now but the craziest part of that is outside not being able buy stuff in the shop the first like hour, the servers have been great. I will say on PC, performance is kinda rough at moments but the fact I have not had a single lobby issue while this game is so flooded rn if you sneeze on the play button you’d get put into a lobby, I am just blown away at the witchcraft going on under the hood. What was the point of OW2? (OW2 was pointless) 1. OW1 was peak. It used to be that guy. It had aura.From game-play to story to characters. Overwatch created one of the coolest universes ever made only to run it into the ground because money! 2. OW1 was killed to make OW2 but in it’s development, Jeff (the creator) left. We don’t know why. Maybe it was Activison’s Titty Milk Tuesdays. Maybe it was what they were turning OW into. But by the time ow2 was here, it was clear something was wrong. 3. That PVE mode? NOPE! Those skill trees? Nope! A better comp? Nope! A better esports scene? Nope. But hey! After 4 years we re-balanced the entire roster to work in 5v5, only to recently start backpedaling and re-balancing AGAIN to go back 6v6! Hey, where are you guys going? People are tired of this shit. Working theater mode. Faction System. Tournaments. Destructible environments, Transparent Devs, characters you know and love that also feel powerful and idk, 6v6 The only thing OW2 did was bring back new and old players by making the barrier to entry f2p only to scare them away with monetization and 5v5s. From the intro cutscene, character designs, mvp screens, team ups, and cinematic. This game is carrying the torch overwatch 2 snuffed out. Do you know the last time I saw flats smile like this playing ow2? 2. List ways the game is just better 1. Characters you love (I got called spidey) that feel strong not over tweaked 2. You can play the game without hating your life (look at Jeff) 3. Destructible environments 4. 6v6 Insta queue, clan system, tournaments, actual prizes in comp, great map design, twists on kits we know and love, and oh yea, JEFF THE SHARK . 3. Every game ever made copied from the games that came before, that’s just how creativity works; in small iterations. I think being an OW clone is fine to a point, you can look at Concord and see 100 ways it could have learned from OW. There's a reason OW filled so many coffins before turning the gun on itself. 4. The game is closer to OW1’s core mechanics than ow2 AND improves upon its foundation. Even if you feel the game is a rip off for whatever reason, dors it really matter when the game has its own soul, unique twists and above all is just fun? Look, I get shitting on a game like Concord feels about as genuine as Phil Spencer wearing tshirts to feel relatable *spit* but for a game like? Yea I think a lot of people are just made they don’t have keys. 3. Fun Game Release Fun Brain Chemicals 1. If the game is fun and is unique enough, people will play 2. Why would I play as doomfist when I can literally be a well known established character like idk Spiderman? Sure in a single player game i feel like Im him but in marvel rivals? I got grown ass men calling me spidey and it’s got me kicking my feet and shit. I’m literally him.
