I'm not claiming to be a professional drummer. I'm learning and always trying to improve.
Raziel is a remake of the model seen in the Full Motion Video intro for the game, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, developed by Crystal Dynamics studio in 1999. The original model was made by artist Boyd Lake (link to his artwork: boydlake.com/index.php). My recreation tried to stay as faithful to that version as possible, along with the concept art by Crystal Dynamics.
As these are fan recreations, I am encouraged to do more by fellow fans. Some offer support for my art over on Patreon. If you would like to offer support, please head to the link below:

We also have a large community of Legacy of Kain fans over on Facebook:

And this recreation, along with my version of the destroyed Wraith Raziel, will eventually be offered up in the fan remake for Soul Reaver I'm helping on with the Soul Revenant team. Please check them out here:

I've spent the past near two months, in my free time (not much) working on updating more of Legacy of Kain: Defiance's textures (I've added the instructions on using the skins with Texmod and Reshade in the pinned comment with additional video tutorials. Note: you must use Texmod to run these skins). I first started on updating the Pillars area a year ago, when I adapted the textures from my recreated models onto the old models from Defiance. Then it expanded from there. All of the surrounding grass textures (close to 20 textures, it turns out, with more beyond the area shown in the video and in Vorador's garden path still to go), the hillside/cliffs, Moebius' mercenary battle standard, the statue of the winged angelic being, trees, leaves, background trees, moss, water (animates in a sequence of 60+ for the regular water and 70+ more for the rippling pond water), stone steps, and more. I even went back to update Kain's, Raziel's, and Moebius' textures. For Ariel, like with my Pillars recreations, I took the model I made and adapted her textures to the old Defiance model. Projecting her textures was no small feat, though. Her UVs are so broken up – with little islands everywhere, things mirrored and used here and there – it took a lot longer than I had hoped. I also updated textures used for Kain's TK, the “Blessed Barrier” door, his long jump and batform textures (forgot to include those in the video), and the checkpoints for Kain and Raziel, and the color on the TK rune upgrades they pick up to match the TK meter I updated ages ago (to reflect the color of both Blood Omen games regarding Kain's magic abilities). In addition to that, I've also worked a bit more on the Sarafan dungeon (wood ceiling and models of prison and grating bars used). I want to get to finishing the dungeon and the sewer area next, after a bit of a break.
More than I can even remember, I think, has been updated. So I am going to update everyone with the new skins for use using Texmod, and the Reshade shaders. This has all been in part due to the support from everyone over the years and definitely since I started, my supporters on Patreon. That extra earned per month I put toward working on this as much as I can find time. Thanks to everyone and consider this a Christmas and Holiday present to the LoK community. Here's to more years making more LoK art come to life!

PS: Sorry about the compression. In spots it's kind of working against what I am aiming for in this video. With ReShade you can see even Defiance's base textures a lot clearer, with more depth, but in some parts of the video it's a little lost. Also the audio. I will go back to using OBS for videos. I used Windows Game Mode thing and its sound isn't great, and it has too much video compression.

Recreation of models (Kain and his throne from the Soul Reaver intro movie) from the Legacy of Kain series, animated to a sound clip from the Legacy of Kain: Defiance intro movie. This is a nonprofit fanwork and all characters, the Legacy of Kain brand, is owned by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Interactive (part of Square Enix) (note that Crystal Dynamics is currently misspelled in the credits and I am sorry. I am trying to figure out, short of uploading a new video, how to update this. Also, Silicon Knights should certainly be included for the creation of Blood Omen).

The game was cancelled before the legal department within Square approved those working on the game to use the map, so I am using it for my own purposes, and offering up for others in their worthy cases, and fans in general to get a better sense of the world of Nosgoth between the two vast time expanses.
For my pursuits, I chose to not only map out the locations in 'Nosgoth,' but to also unify the series by mapping out the most plausible layout that all paths seen between the games could coexist. Since I solved the conundrum of things like Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance's Pillars area depiction being entirely different, I thought it would be best to also bring that realization to 3D life, along with having a spot to place my existing models from the series, to showcase them within an actual game engine. Perhaps more, like recreating a small game, or cutscenes, or something even more ambitious. Time will tell what I'll be able to do. In addition to my own projects, the Soul Reaver era version of the map is being used on the fan remake, Soul Revenant, in order to bring the world of Nosgoth fully to life in that era.
The fans who worked on the map are (Forum and Internet aliases):
From the Wiki Team - Lord Aevum (Aevum); Baziel; Raina Audron
Tube Reaver; Hashakgik888; DeputyPotato; Inrezario; Ber
Preliminary draft work by rabban.
The terrains in Unity were modeled in Zbrush 4r7, refined in World Machine 2, further tweaked in Zbrush and within Unity, using the Multiple Terrain Brush asset. Shaders using RTP, optimized using TerrainComposer. With the water added, and in general, I am aware of the choppiness. I hope to be able to optimize this scene. I think the grass and the water are the main culprits slowing things down.
Shaders on models using Uber - Shader Ultra; Advanced Foliage Shader for foliage (not trees). DXG water shader, rocks and some shrubs from the Nordic Forest asset. Grass using the HQ Photographic Texture Pack vol. 2 asset.
Custom trees modeled with Speed Tree. Dynamic sky with volumetric clouds using TENKOKU Dynamic Sky.
Cinematic Image Effects beta and SE Natural Bloom and Dirty lens used for imaging.
Further details and progress coming soon (will upload a link). Models and textures by Patrick Johnson. Zbrush 4r7, Photoshop, Maya, and Substance Painter 2 used. The Legacy of Kain series is owned by Square Enix and all music is by the composers who worked on the series: Kurt Harland, Jim Hedges, Steve Henifin.
This is not made for profit. It is a fanmade work by me, Patrick Johnson (The_Hylden, Senior Moderator at Square Enix forums).
Over a year ago, a few select fans and myself collaborated to construct the definitive map of Nosgoth, which Square Enix asked us to do in order for the now cancelled 'Nosgoth' by Psyonix studios to have a truly authentic map of the world and within the series. Alas, that was still tied up within the legal department when the game was cancelled, so it never was adopted into the canon of the series by Square. However, for my purposes, and other projects, like Soul Revenant, this map is the quintessential map of Nosgoth. Collaborating with those fans, those run the Wiki and a few others (that I will name soon), I was tasked to do the final artwork, so this scene now follows from the extra curricular task within that project, which I took upon myself to do, in breaking down and rationalizing all of the paths seen within the games and trying to unify them logically within the actual world space, as if these could have existed even with just the map from the first Blood Omen game. It wound up working out nicely.
Zbrush used to sculpt the base of the Pillars area. World Machine used to procedurally finalize most of the weathering and final forms. Zbrush and within Unity used for further detailing.
I wasn't able to get Maya and Vray to cooperate for a more comprehensive lighting and material scheme. This is just the default lighting and a bit lower-scaled diffuse map in Maya's Viewport 2.0
More to come.

Modeled in 3D-Coat and Zbrush. Textured and posed in Zbrush; retopology in 3D-Coat. Rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 2.
Just having fun with an old get-up.
We missed the first spat these two had, but it's clear that the cat has none of that vulture's pushiness...
Soul Reaver 2 and Blood Omen 2 are part of the great Legacy of Kain game series by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos (now a part of Square Enix).
The first Blood Omen was made in partnership with Silicon Knights (the originators of the series).
Happy New Year, everyone. And many more to come.
My next thought was animating this to music, and I really got crazy ambitious with all of that. First, I've never animated a flash piece before and second, I've never composed a musical score before. I was very rusty on my reading of music, and have only ever played the trumpet over a decade ago in my Elementary through High School days (graduated in 97). However, I have mixed musical scores for films before, and I found that I could work midi through Garageband and also ProTools. I wish I would have started with ProTools, because having to switch back and forth due to Garageband not having adequate ways to share was painful. But, anyway, I was intending to use the Star Spangled Banner as inspiration. This is The George Washington March, as I've now labeled it. *One final master was mixed to give little more separation to the instruments by a friend that offered to do it really quickly, once he heard it. I eventually animated this piece, fighting it tooth and nail because of how large and slow it was, through After Effects, then had to search around crazily to try and get it properly converted to swf. After Effects, let's just say, while it can do it, I wouldn't recommend it for something this large. A 1GB to 5GB flash file also is completely useless. I wound up saving the portion I could get working to an MOV file, editing that in Final Cut Pro, and taking that MOV file and using a converter to make it into a workable swf file. The MOV, I think I will upload to YouTube later. *later is now :)
With all of that together, though, and after 2 1/2 months of composing, photoshoping, and animating (the animation itself didn't take but a night, or two), literally forgoing lots and lots of sleep, exercise, and working sometimes all night and all day (I felt like I was possessed), here I finally have my ode to Washington and a tribute to him for my dad -- the best dad I could ever ask for :)
I hope you enjoy it, too. PS: if you're not American, I hope the piece at least speaks to you also in some way :)
***This film is being produced in conjunction with a comic book of the same name. This trailer will be debuting at a booth with the comic book's artist at this years' Comic Con in San Diego on July 22nd-25th. if you're attending the convention, stop by and say hello!***
Crime and Corruption has reached a boiling point in the city of Los Angeles. When a young female martial artist is kidnapped, three Vigilantes blessed with unique supernatural powers, band together once more to find her. Along the way, they tangle with the web of the underworld, headed by the ruthless mastermind, Superfly, who holds the police and government of LA in the palm of his hand. No laws, no prosecution -- it's all or nothing for justice to prevail.
Leo Fong is a Grand Master martial artist, holding Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, and Arnis. He trained with, and was friends with, the late Bruce Lee. Leo Fong has written and directed many films, which you can check out here on IMBd.com

I costar as one of the three heroes of the film, The Ghost. I also was second unit director, director of photography, make-up artist, and the editor of both visuals and audio. Shot in 1080p HD video, edited with Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools, and visual effects through After Effects CS3.
Hard Way Heroes is a homage and pseudo sequel to the 1974 film, Three the Hard Way, starring Jim Kelly, Jim Brown, and Fred Williamson. Like that film, three vigilantes find they are all that stands between corruption of crime and the mob that's run rampant in their city. This movie also is being co-produced with a comic book and, as such, the heroes all have unique super powers in addition to hard-hitting, brutal martial arts, and the style of the film will reflect that of a movie based on a comic book.
The film is directed by and starring Leo Fong, a multiple style martial arts black belt who has starred in, directed, and produced many films, since he came into the business in the 70's, along with his friend, Bruce Lee. It also stars Mel Novak as Superfly, a ruthless criminal overlord who has the entire city in his pocket. Mel Novak co-starred in Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee and since then has starred in many feature films. Leo Fong also directed and wrote the script for Hard Way Heroes. Soundtrack produced by fellow costar, Hedo Davis. Hedo is an up and coming star, who has starred in the recent Bobby Fischer Live, a biopic about the eccentric chess player.
One trailer for each of the starring heroes (Leo Fong as Lightning; Hedo Davis as The Rebel) will be edited by me and will be shown over the next couple of months, followed by 2 story-driven, lengthier trailers, leading up to the debut of the full feature.
