You can see these cards in this video! The initial inspiration for the Antiquarian Tarot was the Albano-Waite Tarot. One of my FAVORITE reading decks! The principles of the Antiquarian Tarot are based on the Rider-Waite-Smith deck combined with Paul Foster Case's work, which form the foundation of the Albano-Waite deck. Much of modern occult wisdom was passed down through the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, which scores of decks & books have drawn from. My knowledge pulls from this, as well as Hindu ideology. Paul Foster Case also studied Hindu philosophy and that may be why I am so drawn to his work. My guidebook is largely based on the sacred tarot and occult mysticism, with some Hindu theory sprinkled throughout. My work leans more toward the English style of tarot and mysticism, as opposed to the French style of reading the cards. Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot vs PCS Commemorative Set divineMuses 2015-08-03 | I recently received the Smith-Waite Centennial deck in a tin. In this video I compare it to the Pamela Coleman Smith (PCS) Commemorative Set. I also show the whole set for those of you interested in seeing that. There is a size & slight card stock difference. Other than that, the coloring & artwork is identical. The size of the smaller Smith-Waite Centennial deck is 3.75" (90mm) x 2.25" (57mm).I love the deck that comes with the commemorative edition, but I tend to avoid using it since I view it as a collector's edition & want to keep it in the best condition. Anyway, I usually end up using one of my Waite-Smith or Albano-Waite decks. Not anymore! I'm really enjoying the size & portability of this deck that comes in a tin. It is smaller, but it fits perfectly in my hands! Edge Treatment on Tarot and Lenormand Decks divineMuses 2014-02-25 | UPDATE (5/2018) โ PLEASE READ: FORMULA CHANGE TO AVERY MARKER!CAUTION: A viewer had a bad experience using the Avery Marks-A-Lot marker recently. She said it rubbed off on her hands after shuffling. Curious as this has never happened to me. I contacted Avery to ask if there had been a change in their ink and YES THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE! They said that there was an ink formula change toward the end of 2016. Sadly, I cannot recommend this marker anymore. I have not bought any new markers in a while because I still have several leftover from before their formula change. I'm so sorry for any problems that this may have caused! Please test on something less precious before using any marker brand on your beloved decks.I do still stand by my method using the Distress Inks. Though they do fade, surprisingly not too much. (I've had to re-ink a deck or two if I used a darker color of Distress Ink pad.) I will continue to use the Avery markers that are in my stash (pre-formula change). Though I'm on the lookout for another product. (Sharpie's ink is just too stinky for me. But who knows, maybe they have had a formula change too?) UPDATE (2/2018) :I made this 4 years ago to share with friends on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum and for customers of the 2nd printing of the Antiquarian Lenormand. There are a few colors you can use to tint the edges so they look like they have been handled for decades. Flonz Victorian Lenormand by Katherine Andrews divineMuses 2014-02-22 | I just received my copy of the Flonz Victorian Lenormand and instead of just opening it on sight, I had to unwrap it on video. :) This is a very special deck. What makes it unique is the stamped Lenormand images. What makes it more remarkable is that the stamp images were hand drawn by Katherine herself. Flonz is the stamp-maker and as you will see his work is precise. The Flonz Victorian Lenormand has an extra Lady and Gentlemen card as well as an extra Seeker card. The cards are a bit bigger than poker size at about 72mm x 104mm (2 13/16" x 4 1/16"). The printing is high quality, the backs are reversible & the matte card stock feels to be 110# (it's so luxuriantly soft). The LWB is detailed and completely handwritten. What I enjoy about it is that it has the stamped image of the card next to the keywords. There is information about Katherine, the stamp maker and also 2 layouts (3 card & Grand Tableau). I highly recommend this extraordinary Lenormand deck I love to support the self-published creators, especially those who put this kind of detail and thought into their work.
