Instead, I reverted to my old self 15 years prior where I just walk around and take in whatever I'm experiencing. While I had attended some cosplay gatherings, I spent the majority of my time in panels for the remainder of this year's Anime Expo. Day 0 - Arrived at the site past 4:30am to line up to get our covid wristband (so not to take out our cards each time). Security actually kick us out so most of us hung out at a near-by Starbucks until returning to line up befor 6am.Day 1 - Normally arrive early but chose to sleep in a little longer before arriving by 7am. Long story short, volunteer told us to line up in the end of the line only to find out from another volunteer to to enter to another line...2 hours later! Penlight comparison: Lumiace 2 Omega & King Blade X10V Part I – Re-unboxing, Demonstration, & Review AJ Kam1kaz3 2020-04-21 | Penlights originally as a side by side comparison with two Hatsune Miku Expo penlights. Thought that if I want to compare, it should be the most common brands: Lumica and Ruifan Japan. After reading articles and asking questions from Lumica themselves online, I settled for the Lumiace 2 Omega model. The experiment was to originally to start on December of 2019 but was still waiting for the order for a King Blade X10III from Amazon vendor that was to be delayed to mid-January. The KB X10III model was getting expensive by then and was able to find the cheapest at $50 compared to the now common $100+ on CYBER MONDAY! After apparently the vendor didn’t even send the order, my order was cancelled on the month I was expecting. Looked around online for similar prices before I settled for the newer model the King Blade X10V. Researching that it’s basically a KBX10III with Bluetooth, bought it at eBay close to MSRP. With friends, we carpooled to Little Tokyo to mark our end of AX with lunch at Curry House. Puzzled, I was wondering what’s the big deal in driving all the way from Long Beach to Los Angeles’s Little Tokyo district for Japanese curry that I can easily get from a packet in a near by store? Little did I know, I would be introduced to the otaku subculture in that plaza alone before branching out to other foods like ramen and taiyaki. But after 37 years of serving it’s style of Youshoku food to the public, the doors were finally closed on the evening of February 23, 2020 without warning in all locations.While some say it’s just a curry restaurant, others will point out it was a popular otaku hangout spot for people in the early 2000’s that was dubbed as one of “The Golden Ages of Anime” in America (though still debatable on the exact year). This was true in the Little Tokyo location. A memorial gathering was set on that day by Kitty Kaboom to say their final good byes and to reminisce the good times we had. Many people showed from regular customers to actual past and recent employees from the different Curry House locations! We all felt that if they had announced a final day, all of us agreed that we would party to the very end.Myself and later a few others took turns to watch over the memorial site so that plaza security doesn’t take down the shrine again the previous few days ago. I recognized the event organizer whom hosted last year's DDLC gathering! Cosplaying as "The Legendary" Tae Yamada, we "tried" to accurately fit her character such as popping her head or arms off! Other than missing a Yugiri cosplayer and other minor characters, it was REALLY fun! We were even treated with a rap battle with cosplayer Holly Ann. There were a couple of surprises such as the Kotaro Tatsumi cosplayers have a bag of dried squid to a cosplayer as the delivery truck that hit Sakura in the anime! As for how I came with the idea of the video ending, I originally wanted a Sakura cosplayer take a fall. None of the Sakura cosplayers didn't want to get hurt, so I modified my idea by having myself getting HIT and fall. Once again, Dan Salvato himself came over to visit the gathering before heading to his autograph session later that afternoon. As for the rest of us, it was a little awkward at the start. For one, most of us had to adapt to the cramped space to get that perfect shot. Later, some of the photographers were complaining a little about one of the photographers up in front from standing directly in front of us to making the counts too fast to the next poses. However, we got that issue resolved. BUT, some of our cameras begun to overheat (and I thought it was just me because I’m doing video) resulting in me in using my old smartphone (my old backup camera not mp3 player!) for the remainder of the shoot. You will notice the picture quality from 60fps to 30fps towards the end of the video. I wished I could stuck around longer to play “hangman” for DDLC prizes, but I had to rush to another gathering by this time. International Sailor Moon Day 2016 in Los Angeles AJ Kam1kaz3 2016-08-09 | 8/6/16The second to be held in Los Angeles, the first held at Sycamore Grove Park. I was to go last year as a curiosity but had work at the time. This time, I brought my girlfriend along to check this event out. It was to be held at Little Tokyo again but was moved about 5 miles north. I assumed it was to get a bigger space. Arriving there, it wasn't hard to find where everyone was at (just look for people cosplaying). The event started off with Anime Expo Idol winner Stephanie Yanez with Polo Yazaki on guitar. Unfortunately, I didn't take much pictures in part for a number of reasons. I didn't want to disturb some of the cosplayers who were in a photo shoot with professional photographers, give them space for themselves to relax, and some of us (yes, I'm one of them!) distracted in playing Pokemon Go. While some of us were busy taking over a near by Pokemon Gym, I just want to relax. While I am still not fully a Sailor Moon fan convert compared to my girlfriend, I do give it more respect than before for the franchise.
