If they try to negate your search with Ascended Sage you can just quick effect into base Utopia and continue your combo, or use 2 other level 4s and rank up into a 4 material Dragonar either way.
Zexal Entrust is also really nice since you can search it up with Astrotopia or Zexal Construction to extend combos or help play through interruptions.
For even more ridiculous combos you can run things like Mothman, Pot of Avarice, and Double Summon but I already brick enougn with one Double or Nothing and one Zexal Weapon..
Utopia decks just have no room in their extra deck. Like 12 of the spots are dedicated to the full combo so you can't really rebuild if your field gets wiped.
If they used it to destroy Graydle Alligator the effect would still trigger but giving me Tyrant Dragon was even worse.
Double Creature Swap really saved me here. It lets you pick the spots for monsters so even if you don't get a good monster you can fill their link spots with garbage.
Summon Limit actually really slowed down my hand here. I play that card in some of my Graydle decks but I could have looped Graydle Slime, Graydle Eagle, and Graydle Dragons and stole whatever he played.
You can just loop trap tokens and set off Statue of Anguish Pattern multiple times each turn. It's pretty fun but you need to chain things in the right order or you caan easily brick yourself.
It's more of a Kaiju and Synchro deck, I just added a bunch of banish cards and generic link monsters to burn opponents resources for this event.
Gamaciel can also negate effects more than once and banish the card so he's actually a good choice for your own field, and he's the easiest one to blow up so he's pretty amazing. Just don't give the opponents Kumongous if there's counters on the field.. He'll completely disable your own Kaiju until the end of their turn.
I really like this deck. It can play through Ash Blossom and negate hand traps once you get Draco Future out so it's actually pretty consistent, and completely broken when you get the full combo off.
You end up with so many negates you can completely lockdown your opponent, and it's almost impossible for them to get rid of your monsters without something like Lava Golem or Kaiju's.. and you probably still win if they do that because you get a stacked Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray with even more negates on the next turn.
Cairngoron is great because he can protect Draco Future from banishment and card stealing effects, but you need a pretty good first hand to summon him on top of all the Utopias.
Double or Nothing! was fun but ZS-Ascended Sage is even better and it doesn't just brick your deck if you draw it or get Ashed.. You just get one less summon off it. If you have a few more monsters or Dodododwarf Gogogoglove you can also get Utopic Draco Future out on the first turn and set up a full negate board.
Depending on the situation you can go into Leo or Draglubion+Harbinger first. Harbinger blocks spells which is usually more clutch and then you can get Leo on the next turn with trap negation. If you just want a bunch of monster negates Leo can block 2 effects on turn one.
You only really need Fortia or War Rock Mountain and then you can search anything you want. Meteoragon is just immune to destruction effects but all of the level 4 War Rocks can search him if their destroyed by effects, and War Rock Mountain can protect any Warrior in battle once.. They also hit surprisingly high damage if you have Wento and a few effects stacked.
Sometimes I go for the classic Utopia Double, Base Utopia, Double or Nothing! combo, but if I'm not confident in that I have other OTK setups..
He doesn't just negate monster effects on the field. You can negate two monsters for the whole turn. It even blocks GY and Banish effects (including any monster that shares their name..).
He can't be destroyed, is deceptively strong with other War Rock monsters, and if someone does try to attack over you then you just block with War Rock Mountain and search them again.
You really need to banish or yoink it unless you can OTK. If you try fighting or sending it to the GY I'll just keep summoning Meteoragon or searching War Rock Mountain.
It's actually be my favourite card right now. Meteoragon and Utopia Double are close seconds but Fortia is a brick wall and can set up an amazing board without using any cards in my hand, or leave material on the field and force opponents to attack so I can blast them with Utopia on the next turn.
Cards like War Rock Dignity are amazing because you can use Fortia to search it and activate the effect during the same battle phase, or use it to lock people down outside of the battle phase my War Rock and Utopia monsters really shine.
This deck will probably fall off after a certain point but being able to OTK through battle damage or disable effects when declaring attacks has carried me through ranked and the event so far.
Move Speed bonuses are all multipliers so if you stack enough of them Zagreus can basically teleport across the screen. It makes it a bit hard to control, but it also makes you do ridiculous amounts of damage on everything with Rush Delivery.
There's just too much RNG in this fight and some of the summons are like impossible to hit with certain builds. The ghosts and jumpy rock guys are the worst. The Medusa heads and butterfly balls aren't too bad since you can kill them before Hades starts attacking again.
Finding Patty and some wells near the end helped saved this build. I got screwed over with only like one Aphrodite all game, and then got stuck with Demeter who kept showing up.. she only has like 2 useful passives and a lot of awful duo boons I don't want to unlock.
I was planning on going Heart Rend but I only saw Aphrodite like once and couldn't even get Privileged Status up consistently.. I should start keeping 1 cast on Infernal Soul if I'm not going to use it. This game really loves forcing me to take Ravenous Will when I'm not using Beowulf. It's rarely worth trying to set up.. I'd rather have Snow Burst but I'm not wasting rerolls on Demeter's nonsense.
I also could have used some decent back attack boons from Chaos but backstabs seem a bit inconsistent with the huge hitboxes on Arthur. You kind of need to stand back or dash away against some enemies.
It's really annoying because you need Athena's attack or special to get Deadly Reversal, which is a lot more situational and not as strong as easier to unlock boons. It might be easier to look for Pressure Points early and level that up instead. 15% crit chance on Artemis attack is a bit too low.
It's definitely starting to grow on me. It feels like it really needs Attack and Special Speed boons to keep up in Elysium and Styx though, especially if you have Forced Overtime. The other option is to facetank with Hyper Sprint but healing is pretty expensive and random in this game.
If you could just have like 5 Hermes boons and 3 hammers it would be the perfect weapon.. You definitely want Shadow Slash if you go with Artemis. Nothing else in the game comes close to 200% damage on attacks. The 2nd choice is between Breaching Slash or Greater Consecration.
It's DPS drops off pretty hard mid-game but it becomes amazing once you have Exploding Launcher and Charged Skewer together.. Unfortunately I never see a 2nd hammer until Elysium, and then you have to wait until the end of the game to trade hammers or get another Hermes. I really feel like they could have made Asphodel a few chambers longer and made Hermes and 2nd hammers available sooner.
Explosive Launcher does fire insanely fast with a good special speed boon but it's pointless once you start using Charged Skewer. Rush Delivery and Hyper Sprint work really since it charges and can reach max range quickly, but again I was waiting until Styx before I got Rush Delivery.
Sudden Rush would slightly speed up landing the first shot but wouldn't do anything after that. I won't be trying this again though. Unfortunately this fight just comes down to pure RNG and there's a lot of random things that can waste a lot time.
Hades can instantly darkness or invincible dash after his shield drops.. Which he does almost every fight. The rock enemies he summons can also completely screw you over, and the amount of time his invincibility last is really inconsistent. It's impossible to time a hit on the last phase because his invincibilty randomly last way longer than the shield animation, and the amount of time he stays in his shield is ALSO random.. and he can glitch out and just continue attacking for a while when his shield is up.
There's no overkill damage in Hades and I managed to hit using only Trippy Flares with no crits, which actually took a few tries because I kept getting random crits from Pressure Points which broke my tally.. I also didn't need Hyper Sprint which was nice because it's a bit awkward with Beowulf. It works better on the Aspect of Hera with other cast.
Apparently I didn't even need Blackout or my Call to overkill him so I went a bit overboard with this build. I didn't even have that many damage buffs or any extra cast items.. Unfortunately we'll never know how much damage it would actually do.
This was basically a perfect fight.. You need need to hit Theseus really quik here or else he'll get confused and drive around for a few seconds while invincible, which also makes harder to get him and Asterius lined up for the double kill.
I don't know how much damage I can actually do though, everything dies before all my hits can land or they have forced invincibility. This game really doesn't let you one shot or overkill enemies unfortunately. The only thing that doesn't have an invincibility phase is EM4 Hades 3rd phase.. Charon has roughly the same health but he also has forced invincibility and stops the fight around 20% health.
Spin Attack is an inferior Hunting Blades, Serrated Edge is an inferior Double Edge, and Charged Skewer is an inferior Rama Bow. All of them cut your health in half while also being significantly weaker than other very similar builds.
I definitely should go with Athena next time for exposed and her call.. it last way longer than Hades keepsake. It wasn't good on this build but I just didn't have any call when I got to Styx and still needed a bunch of duo boons.
Tisiphone has less invincibility phases so I could use most of my power here. I don't even get Exposed or Priviliged Status yet and backstab crits are doing over 1600 damage..
If you break Theseus' chariot too fast you usually get a full health Asterius spamming spin attacks on top of him. I like to whittle them down then try to wipe them out at the same time when Theseus after uses his Call.
