I'm working on the next 150 in part 2, and as I revisit each old video I am surprised by some of them, so lately I have been re-creating the best ones in 1080p and uploading them to my channel. This is why I've been so active lately. Although the views are not so good and my subscriber count seems to get lower each month... but oh well, that has never stopped me before ; )
This is the NTSC (US) version (my favourite version). I found Celosia's position co-ordinates and moved it down to where Wander starts the battle.
I had always thought that Celosia was a ghost before activation like a lot of other colossi... Basaran, Dirge, Phalanx etc. (I checked my blog post but I had not covered this)... So this is new I think, unless someone can prove me wrong.Shadow of the Colossus - Wander warped up at Cenobias arenaNomad Colossus2022-11-14 | I first found this weird glitch by accident way back in October, 2009. I was trying to warp Wander onto Cenobia's head (before it was activated) and eventually succeeded! However, I also came across this glitch that blasted Wander way up into the sky (10 kilometres high)!
Wander falls back down and crashes into the death floor (first attempt at the end of the video). But I changed his position co-ordinates in this video so he falls back where he started (on Cenobia's temple) to make it more interesting.

Note: This is the Steam version so some sound effects (like the character's 'chirp') aren't working for me in this build... I have yet to fix this issue.

But at the moment, the emulator doesn't run the game properly... might have to wait a long time before the PS3 emulator is good enough to run the game.

I had never seen the Avion colossus cutscene like this before, which means no one else has either!
In the US version, Wander can fly right up to the (non-triggered) Avion with ease... but nothing happens. But in the PAL version, Avion 'triggers' before Wander even gets close to it! The cutscene starts and I have a few seconds to move Wander to get a look at what transpires from a totally new perspective, i.e. from the back of the arena.
It seems the PAL (European) version has some surprising new revelations to be explored. Note: The 1st and 2nd bosses were also very different to what we have seen before... I'll make some more videos about these later.

This was one of the first 'Agro launches' I did way back in 2009 (PS2 US version ), then I made it up there again in 2018 for the PS4 version.
So I thought I would try it again in the E3 demo version and see what happens. You might be surprised as Wander just falls through the top of the temple! There is no collision detection in this very early version... makes sense I guess.
I then Moonjump up onto the temple... but I just fall through it down to the death floor... -300m! Wander dies! Point made I guess : )

Sadly, I have now discovered that only the final boss (Malus) is able to be triggered at a different location (within the H8 map square)! I thought some other colossi might also be tiggered in this way, but the other 15 trigger where they are supposed to.
Even so, it's pretty amazing that I can move Malus to anywhere I want and then 'trigger it'!

That is, I first have to find the position co-ordinates of Malus (before activation) when it's a 'ghost model' with no collision detection... then I can move it to some other location that I want.
Next, I move Wander to the original 'trigger point' and then use a camera hack to see what happens from the colossus view point... I guess it's hard to explain here, just watch the video and you will see what I mean ; )
Note: the 'beeps' you hear are when the colossus cut scene 'changes' from scene to scene. You can see the E3 demo had a lot more platforms and they were not textured. In fact, they look larger than the US version as the water effects were not yet hiding the underwater parts of each platform... at least not from the height I took the screen capture ; ) So they look 'deeper' than they shoud.
Again, I'm guessing this was a memory constraint issue that forced Team ICO to remove some of the platforms. Let me know what you think. ; )Shadow of the Colossus - Wander after #8 cutscene eyesNomad Colossus2022-05-10 | A very closeup look at Wander's eyes during the cut scene after you defeat the #8th boss - the Gecko or Kurmomori. I find it amazing that Team Ico (Ueda) put this detail into Wander's model - that is the way the eyes move in the sockets.
I used some codes (addresses) to see this... but I did point this out in one of my opening cut scene videos I recall... in the forest...

It was only after I played the E3 (Avion) level that the penny dropped and I realised that this was the original design of the temple. The retail versions removed some things and added some cosmetic features... but I don't want to spoil the video so please enjoy.

I made this video on July 12th, 2010 and uploaded it to my channel. But I later did a huge cleanup and deleted a lot of my earlier videos (as their quality was bad), and this one seemed to have fallen through the cracks... So here it is uploaded again - perhaps some of you may remember this?
It's a unique code I found that stablises Wander when using the gravity hack, before this Wander jolted up and down (dangerously) leading to a hard landing and death! Using this stablising code, Wander just hangs in the air smoothly with no up/down movement.
So when I use this address in a positive value, Wander gracefully floats up into the air (based on the value i.e. 1 = slow, 6 = faster etc.) I used the value 6 for this video. Of course you need to stand next to some high structures for it to make any sense ; ) Enjoy.

I made this video a while ago, so I thought it was time to make it public. Wander can pet Avion but there are no 'petting sounds'. So the 'petting sounds' are made via Agro in the temple - hence the silent background with an echo sound. I had to add Agro's petting sounds onto this video to make it seem plausible...Shadow of the Colossus - Dormins athletic test arenaNomad Colossus2022-01-24 | You've probably seen test maps that have been found in other games before (such as the Zelda games), so it was a big surprise when these were found hiding in the program code. They were in an unplayable state when discovered but Wisi used his knowledge to get them working again.
Note: The intro with Dormin I made for fun! It's not part of the test map. Also, the map is completely silent except for Wander's sound effects, so I added wind sounds and music.
As the map is so large I'll be making parts 2 and 3 in the near future.

Sadly, I only had the PAL PS2 version which (it turns out) is impossible to launch Wander up on top of #8's temple! Note: In the NTSC version it's really easy!
So here are some attempts at getting there in the PAL PS2 version. The best I can do is get up to the corner of the temple... sadly there is a void hole there, so Wander falls to his death. This void hole is present in all versions.
So not possible in the PS3 version (as this is based on the PAL PS2 version).

Note: If I could just get a little more height it may be possible? The very last launch in the video make me wonder...Shadow of the Colossus - Malus gates disappearNomad Colossus2021-09-23 | An update (in better video quality) of a very old video I made (16th August, 2009)! I had to experiement for a while in order to recreate this video. Took some time before I worked out what I had to do in order for the stone gates to disappear. But in the end I figured it out ; )
There's a lot of my older work (especially from 2012) that I have trouble re-creating today! Some things I work out in the end, but others I am mystified by - 'How did I do that'? I ask myself! xD.
This video took me weeks to compile! I had to use the sound files from the NTSC retail version and the Preview version sound files, then cut and paste them into this new (shorter version), so the sound files didn't always match up. So in some instances, I've used music to 'fill the gaps'. There are many and varied differences in this cut scene - a lot of the retail verson stuff is missing - You don't see the final boss statue disappear in a column of light - Emon seems to be having a heart attack in a couple of scenes! There is no evidence of the sword 'spinning' and landing into the floor of the temple... as such, I had to add only the sound and music files that were pertinent to this version.

It only worked when I was out of bounds (at the beta mountains)... but once I turned off the clouds, it worked in the forbidden lands as well.
This video is only 360p, but in Windows 10 it looks OK nonetheless...

It's right next to Kegan's rock in the E3 demo. In all other versions there is no cave here, so the devs must have blocked it off for some reason (perhaps to save memory)?
I didn't have access to Wisi's debug menu (it didn't exist then), so I just used my own methods. You will see I don't have the parachute, or my Moon jump code etc. Also, the video has the orginal aspect ratio.
So I just found Wander's gravity codes so I could float around and check out the Shrine of Worship...
